- Here is a How-To video on changing the oil in a 2011 Nissan Sentra (2.0 Liter). The process is fairly straight forward and should take no more than 30 minutes or so. Do the oil change yourself to save money and insure it's done right.

i’m a 21 year old female who has no idea how cars even work but because of your videos i’ve been able to change my oil and my spark plugs. BY MYSELF. thanks for making me feel like miss INDEPENDENT
Very nice! I'm glad the videos helped you get it done!!!
Same here😭 Thank you!
I’ll be back
Didn't ask🤣
Thank you! I refer back to this video every time I need to top off my oil. I typically know how to check/where to put fluids, but for some reason on my Nissan I ALWAYS forget where to add oil to top it off!! I have never had this issue with my other vehicles! It is mind boggling to me that I forget because it is right in my face when I add coolant & wiper fluid, & check the oil dipstick every week!!!
Thanks again so much for uploading this so I (& many others) can have a good & quick reference for where things go and doing a complete oil change!
This is way easier than I thought it was! Thanks.
I would add that you need to start the car and pressure up the filter before saying the level is OK. Also you should start the engine bring it up to about 1000 RPM's for about 10 seconds then shut the engine off and check for leaks, both on the filter and the plug. Good video but you missed a few things. I also wouldn't dab the filter on the top of the oil container. If you have any dirt or anything on it, it will transfer to the filter. Use your finger like you first said. Oil plug should be just snug same with filter, glad to see you only put that on hand tight. I absolutely agree with that. Glad you included the size of wrench/socket for the drain plug in the oil pan.
A mechanic told me that ould is good for new cars but when a bit older, they need something thicker, 10w-40 because the thin one tends to not consume, or leak but evaporate and therefore demand for more....true??
I have same your video has been useful to me to learn more about my car thank you make more
thanks great job very professional
Nice video. I just found a the same Sentra I am currently in process of buying for a commuter.
Any tips you can give me on this car to help preserve longevity?
Definitely plan to change the oil and cvt fluid within the first week once I have it

Very helpful video! Thanks!
Have you ever had a problem with the CVT?? Have you changed the transmission oil?!
I haven't had a problem with it. Had the dealer change the fluid around 60k miles.
@@thecarizon504 thank you, I just got a 2011 Sentra, so far so good, I really like the car, been watching all your vids! Hope you upload some more!
I didn't know that there was a nismo version of these and that they used the 2.0L engine instead of the 2.5L
have you worked on the airconditioner on these cars? Mine just went out!
Not yet, but the AC on my sentra is out now, currently working on that.
Where did you get that oil pan?
Late response, but AutoZone and Amazon.
Just by curiosity, why do you have to dan the rim of the filter in oil?
The idea is that it makes the rubber lip seal better.
Gotcha! Clean Sentra man! Do you have an instagram ?
Thanks dude, now I can try to do my own. How tight did you tighten the screw - is there a foot-pound or just tight to the feel?
There is a recommended torque spec but for oil plugs I just tighten it so it feels as tight as it was before.
