This video is full of caveats already, but let me just reiterate:
All of the dates within this video are subject to change. With the planning already disrupted its possible other dates will be shifted in the hours ahead. We worked hard to ensure that the timings are as accurate as they can be right now, so we're very sorry if any elements end up being inaccurate or misleading.
Also, due to the nature of this video, I made the video alone overnight in less than 12 hours. So while I tried my absolute best to ensure there are no technical or graphical errors, it's possible there will be some. If there are, again I apologise, but I felt it was too important to delay sharing this information - Jack
Just for the feedback - I unsubscribed because I’ve long been disheartened by the lack of women on your team (I am a man). TLDR Business was the final straw. TLDR is too male for me. But maybe you know your demographic - good luck to you
UPDATE: As mentioned in the video, it does seem that the Queen's coffin will be transported to London via RAF aircraft and not the Royal Train as previously thought. It seems that using aircraft is simply an easier task, especially due to security concerns - Jack
@@felixdawson8497 You can't add women just to add women. There must be a good reason. TLDR is definitely not the last media to have a mostly-male team but you can't really do anything about it if not for a good reason.

It's weird. We've been joking about how old the Queen was, and how she was around since the dinos and such, to the point where it felt like she physically couldn't die, but then she did
Just goes to show how easily we tend to forget about our mortality
Amazing how ppl act like ppl can’t live into their 90s
Let's taxidermise her then
@G.D She lives on in the people's hearts.
She did rule for 70 years
And for like 90% of people that is their whole existence
She really was a piece of living history, one of our last links to an older time. Millions of people have lived and died entirely during her reign. Now none of us will see another Queen again in our lifetimes.
Millions of Brits, perhaps, but literally billions have been born and died in the world during her reign, simply incredible
We'll see a Queen, we have a Queen. Just not a Queen Regnant.

Scotland’s official animal is apparently a unicorn because they were believed in Medieval times to be the greatest rival of the lion, and England had claimed the lion a while ago.
Is Scotlands whole identity based on anti England? Lol
@@00dude3 As a Scot, I can say absolutely not. We (or at least half of us) want out the UK, that's not the same as being anti English. Historically, we've been rivals especially considering how they've treated us over the centuries but again the vast majority don't despise the English as people. Hope that helps.
@@nejdalej They already know this. Their faux Anglophobia claims just suit their "independence bad for Scotland but good for any other country" narrative.

Justin's father was prime minister too. So he may have met the Queen when he was young
He did indeed. And the Queen remembered that.
In fact the Queen remembered meeting another Canadian PM when he was a child. Paul Martin Sr. was Canada's ambassador to the UK then, decades later, Paul Martin Jr. became PM. The Queen shared with Paul Jr. her memory of meeting Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. when Jr. was just a little boy.
He first met her when he was 5 years old. When they met again after he became PM, he joked that she was much taller than him back then.
It seems they had a genuinely warm and friendly relationship. Trudeau has also always refused to disclose contents of their discussions, even to close aides. Elizabeth knew this, and her discussions with Trudeau were probably some of the most open and honest she could have with anyone outside the Royal Household.
When you consider that Trudeau Sr. began his political career ambivalent at best about the monarchy, but was later described as "deeply honoured and bursting with pride" when he presented his eldest child (a 5 year old named Justin) to her, you can see the effect she personally had on him.
There is also the famous incident where Trudeau Sr. was frustrated with royal protocol and did a pirouette on live TV right behind her while touring Canadian Parliment. She apparently found it quite amusing. The respectful but somewhat irreverent style was apparently something she quite enjoyed, and would have certainly been on her mind when she first met Trudeau Jr.
@@ParanoidMarvinMk2 👏
@@ParanoidMarvinMk2 Great anecdotes.
@@ParanoidMarvinMk2 I listened to the full speech by Prime Minister Trudeau on CBC last night and it was obvious that his relationship with the Queen went far beyond the normal leader to leader relationship and was more like a grandchild and grandmother or at least an aunt. So he wasn't just saying goodbye to a fellow leader but he was saying goodbye to someone he'd admired and looked up to since he was a small child.
Time for Operation Unicorn.
I live very near Holyrood House already the preparations for Her arrival have begun.
Despite anti monarchy sentiment in Scotland I think many will still feel a sense of pride and honour that she chose Scotland as her place to die.
She may well have saved the Union with that, but it all remains to be seen. Her death is certainly going to effect the outcome of the referendum one way or the other
It is amazing how much goodwill that Elizabeth II generated, even among republicans and such. She was a legendary lady.
I can see the Scots offering deference to Liz. After that, Chuck and Truss aren't getting a fraction of that between them.

Any sewer of a big city is cleaner then the average comments on twitter.
Luckily the average comment on twitter is not equal to the believes of an average human being.
I agree, I don't care for the royal family and actively dislike the whole notion, plus their various crimes but I know how much the queen meant to a lot of us including many people in my family, and that she did a lot of good in her time. Even without that it just seems a little bit cold to celebrate and laugh about the death of a frail little old lady that many people here see as a granny. Some of the stuff ive seen said makes me feel sick tbh. RIP queen liz II
He made truss's speech sound half assed! It's almost as if she didn't care much for the queen and had a speech written for her. Whereas trudeau actually sounded genuine. I never thought that there'd be a worse prime minister than bojo in my lifetime, but to get one right off the bat is a joke.

What's weird to me is, our money is going to change, that's the thing that really struck me about how real this was. I'm Canadian so the Queen isn't really a big thing here outside of a few weird monarchists and the federal government, but she was on our money and that's something I see every day, and now that's going to change.
Small note about an error:
The coronation actually won’t take place for about another year or so, as is customary. Elizabeth’s didn’t take place for 18 months after the death of her father.
If it takes place at all. It's not necessary as Charles is already king.
Thank you, I was going to point this out. It would probably happen next year.
Elizabeth II's coronation was delayed because the public was so upset by the King's passing.
I'm sure Charles III's will be too for the same reason, but not because it is customary.

There's a beautiful irony that Boris, through his mendacious disregard of the British public and the rules he introduced deprived himself of that Churchillian moment that was a decades-long wet dream of his. Instead of being stood on the steps of Downing Street heroically announcing the details, he was slouched angrily at home watching it all on TV, presumably submerged in empty Pringles cans and bottles of Carling.

I was thinking more along the lines of another female to take over from her, she waited. She knew it could not happen with Boris and held on until after she had confirmed the new person.
Perhaps, after meeting Truss, she felt she was better off not dealing with her anymore, and she endured Boris Johnson
Apparently official guidance allows for events and sporting organisations to cancel things up to their own discretion apart from the day of the funeral.
So events such as The National Television Awards 2022 and football matches are up to the discretion of the organiser.
On that note, the Tour of Britain decided to cut the remaining stages of the cycling race. They understood that the police presence they need to block roads for the cyclists may be needed elsewhere, and was one factor involved in their decision.

It’s kinda hard to just say “I don’t care, she’s a coloniser”. I’m just gonna keep my opinion to myself, be respectful, and let people mourn.
Great way to put it
It is possible to respect someone as an individual while still hating the institutions they're a part of and everything they stand for, and I guess that's how I feel about Elizabeth II.
But there is some quintessentially British prosaic dark humor in the fact that a 96 year old monarch is about to die only for her 70-ought son to become the oldest monarch ever crowned... right after the 'election' (by literally about 150k people-- ruling party members only get to vote not the filthy rifraff) of a new PM who is named "Truss" trying to drag them ever further backwards supposedly towards the "glory days" of their declining empire.

I don't expect the coronation to happen until next year. Historically speaking it tends to take a year. Queen Elizabeth was on the throne for a year and four months before the coronation was held. Her father, George VI, only had a shorter time ( 5 months) because they had already started planning the coronation for his brother when he abdicated.
A coronation is considered too joyous an occasion to hold while the key participant is still in mourning, so it’s customary to wait until after the end of their mourning period. In other words, the coronation will not take place until this time next year at the earliest, as that’s the traditional mourning period for a parent.
So now UK's anthem would be God save the King.
England's
*is the God save the King.

What's crazy is the amount of apathy and even ridicule the event is getting and the press don't even want to acknowledge it.
Pretty much everyone I've met is just unfazed or taking it nonchalantly but I have people from outside the UK who aren't part of the commonwealth are reacting like something got blown up.
Yeah people outside the UK fantasise the Queen. I went into work the next day (Brum) and asked how people felt. The most common response was a shrug 😅
I predict most caribbean realms becoming nations soon. The big question is whether canada or new zealand become republics as well?
This might be an end of British commonwealth
I agree. I think, imo, as respect for the queen, all these countries were holding off until she passed and then get their "independence" from the commonwealth Nd the monarchy.
I mean.... who the fucks wants Charles anyway
Canada will absolutely keep it because it’s one of the most distinct and interesting aspects of Canadian history and culture. Arguably the thing that makes them truly different from the United States. That and free healthcare but that can change with the passing of two bills in congress. The monarchy is a much deeper cultural and historical distinction.
Australia is kind of up in the air but like Canada, having the British connection helps distinguish them from the United States but republicanism is also quite vocal and strong.
New Zealand will absolutely keep the monarchy.

Very nice words from ,...the Canadian ..Priminister...he seemed genuinely sad...like we all are..
I'm sure all hands are grateful to you to clarify procedures for them.
So a period of mourning means extra days off for MPs only, whilst various royals and elites play pomp and ceremony games.
The Truss dictatorship will be up to all sorts of cynical plots while the attention is elsewhere.
@@stephanguitar9778 You say that like they're not doing that constantly anyway.
@@TheSmart-CasualGamer I should have said. 'They will present this stuff to be voted on in parliament while 99.99% of the public is watching the 2 Week media spectacle re the Queen.''
I don't know how we'll carry on without her, she did so much for us all. Oh wait.
Does merch now go on sale or does it get more expensive?
That’s a long process for a funeral, alas, Rest In Peace, Queen Elizabeth
Not a fan of the royals at all but that Trudeau speech put a lump in my throat
These planning days are actually 24 hours long aren’t they? So D-Day would not end until 6PM on the 9th.
No. D day is the day of the passing regardless of what time they die unless it's like 20min before midnight for obvious reasons.
As D days main task is the announcement and confirmation of death. Adresa and stuff can be done later as said.
@@tomasvrabec1845 OK, well it is offset by 18 hours. So it is only a teeny little six hour “day”.
Misspellings. Good video
Some people hold so much power that nobody can believe they'd die.
Some people die, the whole world hears, some people die, nobody hears or knows..
May Princess Diana finally rest in peace.
She died 30 odd years ago? Didn't you know that
@@michelles2299 Princes Diana died on 31 August 1997, so 25 years ago now. I remember that weekend rather clearly after all these decades and years.
As soon as the Queen’s funeral is over, the British authorities will draw up serious plans for King Charles’ eventual funeral. 🇬🇧
She's mid.
i wish the new king my condolences and to wish him the best of luck as the new monarch. long live the king.
Lets all hope he is more vocal about the negligent government we now have in the UK. A few hints and nods in that direction would be a present to the people.
@@stephanguitar9778 more like a swift boot for monarchy. There's a reason they need to stay politically neutral
It feels so unreal
"We're all devastated" she says, sounding like a robot.
I feel that the whole process could indeed be slimmed down, especially the moving of the coffin which, I feel, is somewhat disrespectful to her majesty and more of a show than anything else.
That said, as a non UK or Commonwealth citizen, I have no allegiance to the Queen and yet I feel nothing but respect for her and her unfailing sense of duty.
The UK has done many things I don't approve of in the past decades, but due to her ceremonial role she bears no responsibility for those. She has carried herself with dignity and grace, an example for all people in a similar position. I feel more people, head or states or simple citizens should try and imitate her composure and restraint.
I understand what you mean with regard to the moving of the coffin, however The Queen herself was intimately involved in all the planning and updating of London Bridge is Down since its inception. She promised she would serve the country for her whole life, and she kept her promise.
Yes she does, so does her family, they have a huge influence in politics AND actual power AND a ton of money. She could've been an advocate for decolonisation and reparation, but in the end she just profited off of it, like the rest of her family
SHE REPRESENTED AN OLD INSTITUTION WITH A VERY BAD HISTORY.
From Charles I who was tried for treason and beheaded to 'Merry Monarch' Charles II who fathered 12 illegitimate children. (Just two of many examples and worse)
It's more than ceremonial, her and her son have vetoed a number of laws in the past 30 years. That is more than ceremonial power, that's hard power.
@@Garner84 She's a constitutional monarch, not the actually politicially useless Emperor of Japan...
Sad truth is that she started under one of the best Tory leaders (Churchill) and quite possibly finished at the dumbest and maybe even worst Tory leader (Truss).
No wonder she called a quit.
I doubt this was a political statement.
Churchill won the war but everything else was an absolute disaster for him so I don’t see it personally 😂
@@dadikkedude i mean, it was. I wrote it being aware that I am on about politics
Churchill was terrible in most things. And Truss hasn't even started yet, so hard to make conclusions
@@KateeAngel She'll have to work hard, to be worse than Johnson, or hated as much.
So strange as I read about London Bridge but never thou I seen it for real . Tragic and sad day for UK
Church funerals are not normally allowed to happen on a Sunday- more likely to be Saturday or Monday
So glad Boris didn't have to give that PM speech
Its a sad era for the uk losing the heart of the country the queen 👑 everywhere she went she made places sparkle with light happiness and love for ppl around the world god bless the queen forever and may she be happy again with Philip by her side in heaven rip the queen 👑 of Britain and our hearts
It's not the Welsh Assembly, but the Senedd (sen-eth); or Welsh Parliament/Parliament of Cymru, if you will. It was previously known as the assembly, but that's now changed.
Aw no day off.... I'm already over it.
