    Hello, thank you for sharing your wonderful experience. I am from Mumbai and my maternal grandmother stays in Kelshi, an idyllic village near Dapoli. Being abroad for my studies, I miss home and your video made me smile. I was moved by Ash's story and how he moved back with his grandparents after studying abroad. Being close to completing my PhD, I am also doing my own soul-searching and Ash's story inspired me to come back home. I was wondering if you could connect me with him in some way. I am really hoping you see my comment and get back to me. Thank you and keep posting such great content!

      Thank you! We pretty much just tried to keep as close to the coast as possible. We planned day by day, using komoot, just doing our best to avoid highways, which wasn't always easy. Lots of the time staying on the coast road will lead to what looks like a dead end at a point with no bridge, but there's always a local with a boat who can get you across 😊

    What a fantastic series of videos, so inspirational! Maybe it's already planned, but you guys should consider doing a 'logistics' video with insights on how you managed travel, accommodation, kit choices, cultural aspects etc. I suspect it would get a lot of views and serve as a solid bookend to the trip and resource for others to leverage. Hi! It's such a nice route to ride, you'll love it. I think the most difficult day was when we couldn't find a place to sleep one night, after a long hard days ride. There are some quite hilly sections too, so with the heat it's important to start riding in the early morning. Our bikes didn't break down at all, but we had around 5 flat tyres each, so not too bad.

    Ride looks lovely. Glad you had a great time.
    Just an observation and no disrespect to anyone, but i thought 15:57 felt like it highlighted the long term impacts of the British colonizing India. The locals feel white skins are superior and naturally gravitate to treating white people like royalties (Providing them chairs) to sit while the locals sit on the sand. I am pretty certain this treatment will not be the same for any other brown skin person coming along on their bike.
    Disclaimer : Fully aware they were just invited and the hospitality by the locals was out of their good will and i am certain you guys did not request for the chairs either.
    Great video and i'm impressed non of you guys look sunburnt from the long trip!

      Hi, thanks, we really did have a great time, it's such an amazing part of the world.
      Fully understand your comment. Yes, we certainly didn't ask for or need chairs, and it did make us feel a little awkward. We are used to sitting on/sleeping on the ground as we travel different parts of the world.
      We probably didn't think of it this way as we are often shown over the top kindness all through the world, wether it's in Turkey, Thailand, or anywhere, but I understand this could definitely be the reason for it by these people.
      Something we will be aware of in the future for sure.

    Western coast have some amazing beaches and tourist attraction.. ancient temples.. but didnt see single one here.. Only cows, sheeps and buffalo crossing the street..village people sitting road side.. i think you miss a lot.. before travelling atleast find out the best place to visit at region.. even in mumbai city.. you specificaly show old crowded mumbai.. not Modern Mumbai.. you westerners always show your countries best part and india's poorest part..

    • @weridebikesplaces
      @weridebikesplaces  Год назад +2

      I agree, there are so many amazing beaches along the west coast, I showed quite a few in the video.. in both normal and drone footage.. As a bike tourer, I don't concentrate on tourist attractions, but am interested in a country's natural beauty, and variety of landscapes, which this coast has so much of, and I think I showed this well.
      On the roads, we saw thousands of cows, and I really like them, so it would be strange to not have them in the video.
      I didn't get to see the modern part of Mumbai, it is such a huge city, but really loved the old part that I saw. I don't think I showed any of "the poorest parts of India", like slums or anything, I just showed some of the many rural villages that we passed through on our journey, and I didn't consider them, or mean to show them as being "poor", I think the way of life along this coast is idyllic.
      I can only include the things in my video that I see along the way, and this is what I did. We loved this part of India, and thought it was full of beauty and kind people, and would love to come back and ride it again.

      The west coast has so many beautiful beaches to cool down in, and the pollution was a problem in some areas, but not enough to stop us cycling. Seeing a country by bike is by far the best way to see it, we meet so many awesome people, and see so many beautiful places, so we put up with the pollution and the heat. We also start early in the morning which helps
