The argument about Archer being at Beecher's Hope or not aside, I feel like if Fordham survived, he hated Ross's control and probably knew Jack killed him but chose not to bother him because it wasn't worth the time.
And he didn’t want to have his men killed because he knew jack was killer and jack didn’t care who he killed or what he did
Archer respected John at the end after the fall of Dutch I think he would have disagreed with Ross's decision to have John killed we don't see him there so I don't think he wanted any part of it and unlike Ross he never toyed with John he just told him how it was
According to a video made by the Professional, Archer was there and he can be killed by John as he is being shot as well.
You’re right, he is there. Still though, I do wonder if Archer would be interested in going after Jack at the end. I doubt it considering that Ross was rude to him and Archer was much nicer to John than Ross was, even thanking him at the end for killing Dutch. He was likely at John’s ranch simply because Ross wanted him to be. But who knows, maybe the cob/robber cycle would continue.
More I listen to him, Agent Ross just sounds like Joker if he was in the justice system

I like the conversation going up to kill Dutch, it shows that Fordham is just as much of a dick as Ross, he just says less.

See i was back and forth on that. I swore i heard he was running for it at the start of the game. Then towards the end i caught he was already in office. Ok, so correction he was already in office. Did that happen as the game progressed or was that already established beforehand?

@@CynicGTAI think Nate Johns was running for re-election as West Elizabeth’s governor during 1911, then sometime after Johns and the rest of the Van der linde gang’s death, he gets re-elected. In the 1914 “The Blackwater Ledger and Sentinel” newspaper, he gets indicted from state governor.
I went back and replayed RDR1 after my first playthrough of 2, and I played the game as a high honor John that committed no crimes that weren't 100% necessary for story missions. To me that playthrough is my canon one, because to me that was John becoming a better man and finding his redemption even though the world refused to let him be redeemed without giving his life up for it.
John should have went to another country to get away like Landon Ricketts did.
He went to the Yukon with his family between 1899 and 1907 he should’ve stayed

What I never understood is why Ross just killed of John it was obvious how good of a hunter John was in other words if Ross made a deal with John to allow his family to live on the ranch but John would have to keep hunting outlaws that the bureau would send his way that way John would not really go free but it would make the life for the bureau way easer it's like you said John is nothing and therefore can do what he needs to do in order to capture the target
I thought that was exactly what was going to happen. I just figured the bad end was going to be John had to keep hunting outlaws for the FBI. It would have made alot of sense for the FBI to use him as their off the books hit man and just threw just a little cash.

@@maalikserebryakov ma I doubt he would have ever wanted to do the gang again. But he was still bounty hunting after the gang, and it would have still fit a bad ending if he was never really able to get out from under the FBI's thumb. He would have his family and ranch, but they would use him as their hitman. John and Abigail even talked about how they thought that would happen.

Honestly, he's one of Rockstar's best side characters. A ruthless lawman who gave no parole to criminals and was cunning in exploiting their weaknesses to get to his goals. In D&D terms, Ross would perhaps be a lawful evil character, considering how far he'll go to enforce the law.
Maybe one day, Rockstar will do a Red Dead game where we get to play as Sheriff, a Texas Ranger or some other kind of law enforcer. It'd be a nice change, like L.A. Noire.
Also, in the real world, I'd want there be more Rosses and fewers Dutches.
Edgar Ross, aka: Rat, Snake, Silver Tongued Oportunist. He is like Dutch but in the opposite side of the same coin.

Ross is actually my favorite side character in the game. He is a man who is the hero in the wrong story if the story was told through his eyes we would see him ALOT different.

Rdr 1 def takes place more than a year or so after rdr2. Jack is a little kid in rdr2. In 1 he’s a teenager.
