as a diehard fan of the first red dead i thought I should do my duties and make a ultimate John playthru guide that ive been following myself for a while... Anyway its faaaar easier to say what you cant do as John, more than what you can! You can do nearly everything besides these few missions and one buggy bastard EDIT- WOW this video is blowing up, A THOUSAND VIEWS! Thanks so much for the support! It really does mean the world to me, got alot comin for red dead and a whole lot else!
The only reason I do the widow missions as John is because in the epilogue, if you do them as Arthur, he says that Arthur wrote fondly about her in his journal but she's not mentioned when you look for it.
@@Beau-Bo People had hoped that Charlotte was meant to be his other love interest but per Roger Clark (Arthur's actor) in 2019, she was definitely not it.
TBH, I didn't intentionally do any of the challenges until The Epilogue. I did a few accidentally as Arthur, but mainly followed the story. So, John has been pretty busy since...
.I am currently playing as Arthur and leaving out any side missions that John can do, except for those missions that Arthur can do. The only exception is the Widow Charlotte's missions, which have a beautiful and rewarding continuation for Arthur and John (as she will allow John to loot anything in her house). 5:01 I'll keep this in mind as I save the game in Chapter 6 before Arthur's final two missions, and try to complete this encounter as John ( saving the game with him too). I like playing John more than Arthur because I like John's handwriting and drawings, and also his inability to swim adds more challenge, and most importantly, I played Red Dead Redemption 1.
i left the last mission with Hamis for John so i could ride Bheull in the epioque. also the exotic side mission to get that sweet double action. and evelan miller side quest
good video. But you can still do the emmet granger mission and not have it bug out beecher’s hope. If you beat up/kill all his animals granger will just get pissed off and then the duel will start, no pitchfork involved
I thought even being at the farm the game automatically teleports the pitchfork over to granger's, with no way to return it, if your way is true wow thats awesome!
i didnt include the appleseed tree company or the central union railroad areas as they are both ambient open world discoveries, youre supposed to just randomly come across them as Arthur only and theyre locked in 1899. Both mini events are also completed fully before the epilogue! I mean theyre both temporary settlements I figured itd be self explanatory that they wouldnt still be there all the way in 1907. I wanted to focus on all the actual story/stranger missions, and all the extra content john can interact with

What if you kill Emmet Granger as John before the barn gets built?

everytime you look for arthur entry about charlotte, the pages get stuck together. that’s why you can’t find it
@@Beau-Bo I wish I could laugh react to people's comments on here because goddamn that was funny.

If you don't do the widow mission as arthur charlotte will die tho

for Beull to clarify i did the first 3 with Arthur then completed with John. dialoque hits different
@@mikedicarlis6654 i did the exact same. I was very surprised to see that they both spoke about Arthur
That as mis in thw game and chapter 2 for Arthur

I know it's off topic, however does the oil wagon spawn when you play as John?
I would love to steal it and earn $50
its really not worth it
@@John._.marston.1873
But I like it
For me, good honest snake oil John can do, and Gun slingers missions
You forgot an event in the "Central Union Railroad Camp" that only Arthur can do
It's like a side mission that has cutscenes and rewards
