I live in northern mi we get a lot of snow and I bought this same rtr this winter had a system out of the slash ultimate I put in with the 16th pinion and man was it a blast !!!! Thing ripped on top of feet of snow !!
Any wear on the trax from the increased speed? I want a fast-tracked vehicle but was afraid these would fall apart. Like the Ken Block Raptor on tracks.
@@seanweir7311 nope I ran the crap out of them all winter just took out the brushless this weekend till next winter put on class 1 wheels and tires and now my class 1 rig .
Something neat I found too is the Traxx edition actually comes with an upgraded servo - the front upper links are smaller than what comes in the chassis kit. The included spur gear is if you want to run it on the tires - it comes from Traxxas geared down to reduce stress on the motor. As mentioned below the traxxs have tensioners on them - can't wait to see what you do with it! Haven't decided what mods I want to do with mine yet - it went through snow that I couldn't even get my X-maxx through with out jsut going flat out and skimming the top.
Awesome unit. It is spring here in northern Canada and the conditions are perfect for the Traxx. She floats on the crust and doesn't get an insane amount of snow buildup! Minimal binding as well and only caused when hit with some gnarly approach angles which is expected with a tracked vehicle. We drive Bombardier snow buses up north here for expeditions and even those need to take the right path in order to make it. The whole point is to be able to easily navigate across deep snow with ease, need to leave the technical stuff for the smaller units!
I have the same rig!!! It is a fun to play with in the snow, mud, and sand. Last year I took it out for snow rock crawl and it did great. What I do for each snow and mud session is spray them down with cooking spray. Yep the skipping is normal but they can be adjustmented. 🤘🤘🤘
There is adjustment on them. Runs them better brushless. There is also actual bearings you can replace the brass ones with. Also mine don’t slip when adjusted good. I’ve had good use out of them.
Tensioners are built into them. Adjust as necessary but not too much or you can break the treads. Approach angle is everything with them. A little skipping is normal
The tracks aren’t necessarily made for crawling, more mild trailing in snow, mud, and sand. They are supposed to skip so they don’t bind, be sure to read the instructions they help a lot with the maintenance and use. I spray all the bushings and bearings with a little wd40 after every use. I have had my traxx for almost 2 years and have had no issues so excited to see what you do with them!
Did you do any after market upgrades or is everything stock? Also to switch between traxx and wheels do you have to adjust anything? Or is it just a simple swap
There is an adjustment in the front of the traxxas for tension. I have build one on Benz g500 body, used the futaba cb700 servo with Hobbywing AXE R2 3300KV combo, works pretty good. The downside is draining the batteries super fast. Using 2S 8000mah and only last approx 40 mins or so
I watch a lot of you're videos and I really like them...I ordered a TRX bronco last night but it's the older looking rig..I can't wait....take care buddy...
These R Beast can't wait 2 see u up grade it brushless power and tighten up them tracks stronger servo..Hello from V&b speed a new rc community channel stop in say hi thank u
Traxx work for mud and snow excellent , but nothing more.Under heavy load the traxx slide over the pinion gear or flipp complete off. Tires rule under ervery other conditions than deep mud and snow.
Yeah the tracks are not for crawling, does great in your typical off road trail crawl....that where I use mine and tons of fun...Traxxas does not recommend the high speed gear, or high gear on 2 speed tranny's. But I love fine for trail crawls, hills and mud...does great...
I got to see one at Christmas time one my Brothers friends got one . It’s a tank in the Snow ❄️. There’s a way to adjust the tension on the tracks. On RUclips 👌👍.
Read the instructions. They say only use 11 tooth pinion. They send you an alternate pinion for wheels. I use 2nd gear a bit but it will over heat your esc. My 1080 has hit its threshold and shut down. But once T cools all is good. Please do you expensive servo was grades. I just put on a brushless 45 kg but still runnIng off the receiver. The skipping is saving your drivetrain.
Cool video, but I am a little confused. So, does this specific unit come with the traxx and the tires? I am to seeing it listed as included with this model. Please advise when you can. Wanting a crawler, but not sure if this traxx model is the way to go. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone!!!
There’s a shock that mounts to an add on bracket on the inside of the portal to limit how much the track will rotate. The easiest way to put these on an scx is to swap axles
1st run of these were ALL plastic. At least these have some metal. That helps with mods/upgrades. BUT, still a novelty. IF they were great, everyone would have these.
They probably are great if you get a lot of snow or live near sand, I’ve seen the traxx go through some pretty deep snow, they seem good for mudding too but I’ve seen them start to skip in really really thick mud so I’d say they’re meant for sand and snow
Too much tension and you'll likely tear the lugs out of the inside. I don't think I have heard much positive about track kits be it scale or fullsize, seems to be an expensive novelty.
The traxx are too much trouble to keep clean and up to date...mine are pretty much rusted shut on a shelf I have a lot more fun with wheels anyways personally so I would suggest you keep the wheels not too far away if you're any serious about running this thing on a weekly basis.
There is a tension adjustment built into the track wheels. On the front of each track, if you look in the directions they explain it all.
Was just going to mention that.

The front roller on each track is on a threaded rod you can wind out to put more tension on the tracks...
Facts i was gana go do a video on that✌🤙

I love mine. They are the only way I can run my trx in this Alaska snow.
I put a 3800kv Castle in my Sport with Traxx… it will legit pull wheelies! So much fun!

If only it would Snow in Florida the Trax would shine !

I live in Jacksonville too
tracks are meant to be used on soft surfaces to medium hard surfaces! its impressive it covered the wooden section!
I had nothing but issues with the “aggressive” traxx. I did run it brushless on on 3s tho. Slipping was the main issue
Love the Tracksas TRX4!
I wonder if a larger diameter front idler wheel would help add tension. Could probably be 3d printed prett easily
They a tensioner on them
I always watch your videos so please accept this constructive criticism. The music while you’re talking is a bit distracting.
Traxx work for mud and snow excellent , but nothing more.Under heavy load the traxx slide over the pinion gear or flipp complete off. Tires rule under ervery other conditions than deep mud and snow.
Front roller bud, make adjustments there, run traxxas vxl in mine, shreds snow

Awesome video tracks are definitely deep

I want tracks that can go fast. would be awesome to blast through snow.
There is an adjustment link on each track
Ok I'll look at em closer
I wish someone would 3d print tracks for the traxxas tracks. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Could you put them on the 6x6 and make like an army half track?
I wish
The axles are too close together. Would need to move one farther back.
Aside from hurricane what's another good shop in the area?
North Florida RC Outlet across from NAS JAX
Does this model come with differential lock?
Those are spools. No selectable diff locks on it.
I thought you lived in Jax I also live in Jax cool to know!

I like them. But will it fit on a Scx10.2?
ANY vehicle almost. If i remember, 12mm hexes.

Only supposed to run it in 1st gear if you running a two speed also.
Very cool!
The track slipping/skipping issue is a big problem, and not worth the 500.00 dollar price tag.
No music over taking please could bearly hear what you were saying

@@V8chump I haven't heard anyone say they work good in snow. Truthfully I don't think a lot of people say anything good about them.
@@BlueDually4x4 I’ve just seen videos of them from guys like fivonine, definitely outperforms tires in snow but yea they’re a mixed bag
I used these in the snow all winter, and they dominated . To each their own.
It would be kool to see someone that knows how to drive.
you can always come over and show me how

Put tracks on your ryft next

😁👍
The trac have a adjustment on them….. no 3d needed
Would be cool to see the a HH AXE r2 set up and run in the mud!
Love the truck but not so much for the traxxs yeh just not for me 👍
Fail new driver please
