A lot of time and effort was put into it. Sim racing is a hobby that many of us put a lot into because when you do it right you get a lot of enjoyment out of it (not to mention the good feeling that comes just from creating something yourself). It is then very annoying when somebody comes along and makes such an ignorant remark just because they don't know anything about it, a feeling that can apply to any hobby a person might have.
wow that looks awesome! looking at other shifters, they seem to be a lot simpler in design. does this design have any advantages compared to say the th8 rs?
"Hello, Logitech? Yes, it's me. I wanted to say sorry about what I said about your mother, and the gaming wheel setup isn't too expensive after all, as I'll be purchasing one. Yes. Yes, I'm sorry about what I said about your genitalia. No, you're right, it's way more difficult than I thought."
Now imagine that annoyance amplified by the fact that the same thing happens whenever your hobby displayed to the public and you can begin to understand my reaction.
Hello, really really great job man! Great engineering but one thing is missing my mind. How it's done that stick stays at certain gear when every move is encountered with tension of the springs. E.g you put in 3rd gear and you are pushing against the spring and then when gear is in stick stays there and it isn't pushed back in N by the tension of the spring? Thank you for your reply ;)
I've watched this video 10 times and still cannot figure out what's going on in the H-pattern that locks the shaft in place when it's in a gear. Also, I don't understand what the upper left side switch is doing. The left and right top switches are for detecting if the shifter is in 1/2 or 5/6 positions. What is the second switch on the left top doing? It doesn't seem to contact anything. Finally, what does the T pull with the cable do? You don't seem to use it during operation. Is that a modifier to turn 6 gear into reverse?
i dont know why people keep asking those kind of questions...you can see EVERYTHING in the video...its not getting better by telling you that the bolt you see in the video is ...uhhmm A BOLT. for 2 cents ... i dont get it. anyway VERY nice shifter. i love it ! :D you took your time over this one i suppose :)
Okay, this is one sterling job! well done! Any chance of sharing the plans for this? Would be an amazing project since I'm working in a machine shop, and this would go sweet as chips with my t500rs
sorry bud im just saying it seems like too much time was put into doing all this stuff. ive never even seen one of these sims are they really relistic? i never swore at you so i dont know why you acted so belegerent back towards me
I was almost done designing a new shifter on Cinema 4D, a simpler one but very real feel and full metal body and mechanism, however watching this is just discouraging. Fuck.
just tell me how could you spent too much time for building something...if you are slow thats one thing, but you say that one should stop at a certain point cause its not worth thinking further and further?? this is very important. very well, this is how you make progress then lol. i dont get it.
What a waist of time, to do all that work for a video game. I know a guy like you who thinks because he is really fast in video games it makes him fast in real life but he can't drive worth shit, I lap him ever time we go to a track day.

isnt it beautiful how intricate the whole rig is, then his mouse mat is a book! I tip my hat to you sir.
Any update if you are selling the design or unit? Are you doing a production?
Pier, your design is awesome, congratulations
Man that's fucking awesome! Nice work ;)
man i'd buy one of ya !! thats quite a piece of engineering
lol midi Africa XD still though great concept

Love how he chooses a classic Group A BMW M3 for the H-Shift demo :D

Maybe this year, Are you starting to make units?
How many costs parts to this project?
And what exactly i need to build this h-shifter?
My respects, absolutely genius
Did you use Navis Works to do the animation?
good work.. nice job! excellent functionality!
Why make it so complex? I see flexgp one are very simple but still sounds solid.
Do you have plans to this and usb hookup?
i dont know why people keep asking those kind of questions...you can see EVERYTHING in the video...its not getting better by telling you that the bolt you see in the video is ...uhhmm A BOLT. for 2 cents ... i dont get it.
anyway VERY nice shifter. i love it ! :D you took your time over this one i suppose :)
would u mind share this list materials and a chart how to diy one of this?
Muchas felicitaciones que gran proyecto.
muy bien hecho, no hay ningun shifter de este tipo en el mercado, deberias de patentarlo y venderlo ;)
Hey Piergiorgio,
This mechanic is fantastic. I'm interest this shifter's plan or purchase.
Okay, this is one sterling job! well done! Any chance of sharing the plans for this? Would be an amazing project since I'm working in a machine shop, and this would go sweet as chips with my t500rs
Do you have the cad model?
Are you ready to sell these units?
very good sim ! but let's talk about g-foce movement at your seat ! This is a next big improvment.
is this only meant for the game?
sabes si se puede utilizar en ps3? y en el volante logitech gt force? me gustaria para jugar gran turismo 6
Incredible! Do you have any drawings for others to make one?
Well said Brock, sick of the mouth breathers.
Maestro!
Or maybe you' re willing to share the 3d model? ^^ .step or .sat format?
That is amazing
Wow!
man no tenes el archivo de las piezas echa en cad solid o en el que las allas echo
quisiera hacerme una muy similar pero para un auto
Sei un genio!!
👏👏👏👏👏🤓
Why make it simple when you can make it complicated... ; )
This shifter build is even more complex AF than the real one.
Blueprints?
Toto Africa ( Music )
Great! Thanks for getting Africa stuck in my damn head
midi toto africa was too much for me... nice animation when on mute
buen trabajo pero no es realista la palanca
anyone out there willing to share this type of h pattern shifter detail for us normal folks to build? looks like the op died.
That is a mechanical art work!

I got really exited until I realized this is for a game. FAIL
More or less simulation though.. its NOT need for speed..
Joseph Morgan need for speed is not a sim exept 4 shift 1 thats better than forza 4
Patrick Akeley ANY NFS is NOT a simulator. Sorry, man ;)
Fail for your expectations.

Look my youtube channel, there are some videos with my REAL car on track...
