Started playing with this after I saw your panhandle fishing report podcast. I was using a long tail end of a snelled hook to add the dangle beads. This is so much smarter and easier!
I didn't expect to learn anything new when I decided to watch. I was wrong, this is a very cool technique and I will be trying this later this evening for tomorrow's rigs. Thanks Chip!
Received my order and started putting g some rigs together. I've been using float hooks rigs and Salty's rigs for several years and am looking forward to adding your rigs to the arsenal. Thanks for sharing and the tutorial video, it was a huge help.
I'm trying to create an account on your website, but it doesn't allow for new accounts to be create it. only when you have an account can you log in. how can I create one buddy? thanks
I would use crab, shrimp, clams with or without Fishbites or fishgum! Not really fishing it in the majority with live bait! It can be fished with live bait but I usually do not.
DANG, here I thought I'd come up with something different (beads on the tag end of a snell) and you guys have it dialed in already (what a surprise)😆 Great job! I just started tying in beads on the tag end of an egg loop on a smaller hook. The egg loop allows you to hold bait without covering the hook. Lil more of a pita to tie but seems worth it. Also thanks for those color combo's! Look forward to giving them a shot!
@@thesinkerguy thank you Chip for your response. One more I see you had beads on the shank of the hook. Did you redrill holes to accommodate that or were the holes big enough for you to slide them on. I apologize for all the questions but I truly love the rig and the way you present the beads on the rig.
Excellent demonstration! Gonna be giving these a try in the Panhandle.
Outstanding ideas. Love it…. Going to give it a try…. Thanks
You will love this
Great idea. Thanks for the tips. Happy Thanksgiving
Cool idea...never thought to have the beads dangle off the bottom, great attention getter! Always learning..ty!

Great video thank you gentlemen!
Thanks for this! I’ve been wondering how to tie this. I know you’ve been killing the fish with this method. Appreciate it! 😊
Reminds me a lot of my custom spinner rigs (the beads+using them on and below the hook) I use for walleye.
Thank you so this!

Thank you Nathan. Let me know how you do.

Thank you so much and so excited to see you catch fish!
I'm new to surf fishing and this video definitely helps getting ready for my first trip. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Canada.

Thanks for posting this in such great detail. Better than the Macy’s Day Parade. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving
You are so very welcome!
what's the purpose of the beads. sorry new to surf fishing. do you use these rigs with bait or without?
@@mechanic350 the bead is just a color attractant. You will need to use bait or fishbites to help catch the fish.
You just add those combos to a Mortian rig, did you use life bait or fish bites or fish gum.
Good question... hope he answers it.

So you'll fish it without bait sometimes?
@@kerrydeshotels9691 never! I always have sometype of bait Fishbites or fresh dead or both.
What type of fish do you catch with this rig?
What size is the smaller bead on the end? Where are they available? Juat bought some of the other beads from the Sinker Guy
I would like to know that too.

How did you get the beads over the hook point and barb?
Just slide it over.
Hey chip. Have question on the fishing mortician rig. Do you only use beads with your snoods or do you use floats as well?
I will do both for sure! Beads seem to be more productive during pompano seasons!
@@thesinkerguy thank you Chip for your response. One more

Would rigging up like this cause the bait to set on the bottom or would it float?
Is there any advantage to the pigtail over putting the beads on the him shank?
Just moves a little more!
Are you putting these beads on each hook of your rigs? Or just one hooks with beads and bare hooks on the other hooks?
I do it both ways!
@thesinkerguy849 thanks that's what I'm trying
Do you ever use a float along with the beads?
Yes but usually I am trying to not use the float to distract the fish. I want them to eat the bead and automatically get hooked!
Does this stay on the bottom or will it rise up at all in the water column?
This setup would work well for steelhead or salmon too.
We do have some guys using our sinkers and rigs catching both in Washington State. They kill it with it.
