    Chip, I've seen these boards demonstrated at surf seminars in the past but this is the first time with measurements. I had a math teacher maybe 60 years ago say, "if you can put numbers on it you don't understand it". It shows that you are a teacher at heart. Thanks.

    Perfect instructions took all of 30 minutes to make once I found tools in hubbys’s shed! For novice folks like me I put tape on drill bit so I knew when I was at 1/2 inch. So excited my beads and pill floats will be in a few days!! Thanks

      Just finished up my rig board...had all the stuff to build it right in the garage. It’s a miracle that I didn’t have to make 3 trips to the hardware store like I do with every other project I start 😂

    I made a bastardized version roughly inspired by this. 2 clips, 3 short dowels and a tall screw for spools (some of mine have an I.D. of under 1/2"). Only 3 dowels as I just picked a single size; up until now, they were pretty random and usually shorter than intended. Now *much* quicker and more consistent. Thanks!

    Thanks for putting this out. Like I've said in one of my previous comments, just got back in to fishing and went to B&M and grab a couple of rigs and really didn't like where the weight sat. But i get caught a couple keeper drum.

    Using a brad point bit will eliminate (practically) the need to "deburr" the drilled holes.

      You can make bigger loops by using the other peg at 18 1/2 inches

    Great video. Very in detail. I am about to order the drill tool that you use to put the float and linecthrough and your spike likecweights as well. Thank you for showing me how to do this. I will try to make it. How do I make the drop loop smaller I don't like the access of line? I would like no more than 2.5 inches on each drop loop. Any suggestions.

      I would just look at how I made my rig board and you can make a 2 inch drop instead of the 4 inch I make.

    I normally use 4oz to 6 oz weights, would you recommend a 50# test so my weights don’t break off

      10# test for each ounce. #50 test -5oz but will do fine with a 6oz
