Saeed Anwar visited our university once for a lecture. It was quite a privilege to hear him speak and see him up close. I can safely say I have not seen a more graceful and elegant batsman in my whole life. What a pleasure it was to watch him bat. Even with Afridi at the other end bludgeoning bowlers around the park, the real magic was seeing Saeed's wrists and timing in action

The cover drives and backfoot off drives, late cuts, straight drives and the pull shot were always a treat to watch. Very sad about the tragedies he faced which cut his career short. But still people regard him as one of the most stylish left hand openers of the game. Would rate him on par with Brian lara but the latter had massive batting records and more test appearances that saeed bhai couldnt get to play. Legendary batsmen
