      Vishal, Cricket was great, but its great even now, I think I was at the World Cup last year, and every match was worth watching, its faster more competitive, yes maybe the skill level of that classic cover drive is gone, but its what the world has demanded.

    @9:25 When an Indian does'nt appreciate or laud the opposition player for whole day and finally gives a standing ovation when history is made on the ground with posting of highest individual score by a legend in odi history. Saeed Anwar was one of the greatest openers and attacking players I've ever seen.

      Match happened in chennai which is always a true cricket loving city, respect is given to anyone who plays well. The 97 India Pakistan test match , where sachin played a great Knock but saqlain got him out and Pakistan won. Was heartbreaking but the crowd gave a standing ovation and The Pakistan team went on a parade across the ground.

      @@2prabhu It was not in 1997 but in January 1999...Sachin scored magnificently 136 in fourth innings ..the last Time Sachin played with full dominance...after that innings his back got injured so badly that it never recovered fully...thereby he lost his dominance over spinners afterwards..yet managed 14 more years of international cricket & 100 centuries...great

    In the era of 90's javagal srinath and saeed anwar are the most educated cricketers both are engineers. Saeed known to be very intelligent in university, his father is also an engineer. But his father is a great cricket lover and he used to practice with saeed, rashid latif and Muhammad yousaf.

    One of the great innings from Anwar. Still recalling this match as a kid and watching it in black and white TV. Expected India to win the run chase until Dravid scored 100 plus. But after his wicket, India tumbled to lose this match in the Independence cup.

    On this day,I was 9years old and watched this match with my grandpa. He was teaching me the rules of cricket. But I was praying God to get Saeed Anwar out. But he made the damage before that. Man.... What an innings. Would have been a similar achievement like Lara's 375 if Anwar scored 200 that day

    I watched his full innings in TV as a school boy. .as a Indian fan, it was devastating to watch, but Anwar's class, power and elegance was also mesmerising....Sad tht he missed the Double Ton....Big respect for one of the Stars of My Childhood......

    Those days the blokes used to be really really tough. Mentally and physically. Without advanced gyms, supplements or foreign coached cricketers used to excel.

    I remember that match as a kid. Hats off to Saeed Anwar who brought thrills to our indian team in that brilliant match. Pakistan scored over 300 runs including 194 of saeed.

      In today's age, he would have been in pavilion after his 50 as no runner would be allowed. Along with the talent, fitness is important aspect of the game. Using a runner for 75% of his innings is pure abuse of the rules. No wonder Pakistani batsmen today have no big scores after removing the runner rule

      Yes, it could be called 300 of today only if he ran for himself. But back then they allowed by-runners and Afridi was running for him while he was at the crease
