- Welcome to Pt.9 of the #Saveabmw series. Today we add and code an aux cable into the car so we can play music through a phone/ipod on my 525d #E61 #BMW with only 93,000 miles on the clock.

Nice guide, if someone not like to use manual coding in notepad, you can also use NCS Dummy, witch is made it for that kind of job.
In 5:51 where's Mask ecu has read, just open Ncs Dummy, select Chassis (E60 for that car), see in Ncs Expert module name, for example, in video is MASK_E60.C08, next Browse C:\NCSEXPER\WORK\FSW_PSW.TRC, scroll down find AUX like AUX_IN and tap the aux checkbox to on.
On bottom find Export FSW/PSW, and click first option. Close the Dummy, when prompt comes in, press CANCEL not OK.
Next in Ncs Expert, change job and execute ecu, like in 8:21. In Dummy not change anything else if you do not know what are you doing.

No problem. This will work on all BMWs from 2003-2005. After which should already be coded. Good luck. 👍
@@FuelledLife I have a 2006 6 series and don’t have an AUX, I believe it was 07’ that AUX was added to BMWs
@@lukehill2936 I went to look for an 535d from 05 and the dealer said it had aux in the center console, and indeed there was an hole

I've got a '53 plate E60. It's so old it must have been bumper-to-bumper with the last of the E39s going down the line.
I had an old 53 plate 530d e60 manual. I got it as it had no DPF, (downturned exhaust pipes). They were literally the change over year from the e39. 👍

Hi mate followed this video works all ok but 1 issue I have is sound only comes from 1 side and audio sometimes cuts out so have to un plug phone and re connect and works again
I have a E63 but when u open a ncs expert it doesnt show a ncs dumming, but it shows other options and when I press read ECU, the program shows ERROR
How u relocate the pins ? I have a black screen after installing it wihtout moving the pins i removed it but its still a black screen
Yh man for some reason it doesn’t work on mine any ideas , any suggestions will be appreciated. I have installed the cable correctly and it doesn’t work .
If you have heated seats this position is not possible because the Mainbord is too big

Nice, thanks. I have to try this. I have a 2010 with a mask unit and aux is not working. It just says AUX on my input selection, it doesn't say AUX(audio), I wonder if there's a difference.
Hi Nick, don’t think there is as my lci cars just have Aux on the iDrive. When you say it’s not working, is it greyed out or can you select it and you get no sound?
@@FuelledLife nah it’s not grayed out, it’s white and you can see the like click animation when Try to select it, but it just will just remain on the fm radio and not switch to AUX, I check the cars file too and it’s set to aux aktiv
@@_jovian hey i have the same problem also have a sos light with no bluetooth and trying to decide if i should do this or get a fiber loop as i already have a aux port in the center console and the radio says aux just won’t click into it, if you have a instagram pass me you’re name so we can talk about it and try to get a fix!!!
@@parental.184 thats the weird thing for me, my Bluetooth still works. If yours isn’t and the mulf fuse in the glovebox isn’t blown, your mulf module is probably fried.

So if you plug in the pin conector after the system is will allready realized the aux ? or you have to something else to ?

It works for me but the low frequency/ bass is so low which impacts any music with beats. Anyone with this issue and how they fixed it ?
I've done this. But now, sound quality is really poor, no bass and very filtered sound. Any way to get this solved? Ideas?
Will that coding process work on a 2008 5 series with aux already installed? The aux worked just fine but it is now greeted out and cannot select it.
It sounds to me there is either a cable break between your aux jack - head unit or for some reason your VO has forgotten or lost its aux option. I would check both. It would work but it only adds it. If it’s greyed out, it probably can’t see a connection. Not 100% sure.
What if you dont have that software knowhow?
Or even have that software?

Great video! Would the procedure be the same for a 2005 E87 (MASK/CCC) without screen?
It is the same procedure as on the screen versions. Same MOST system so the cables/pins are the same. Then you just need to code the HU. Thanks for watching! 👍

Believe it or not, I’m struggling to get hold of a copy myself. It’s never worked since swapping to a new computer. I need to find my own solution! Appreciate the support though my man!
Hey man I saw this video and it looks pretty simple to do. My issue is I have the aux but it is greyed out and I cannot select it. I bought this bmw 328xi 07 but the ccc was dead so I replaced it with one from a e60. I found somebody that does this coding but he wants anywhere from 100-150$ to fix my aux… should I just buy a laptop instead and do this myself ? The software you use is all free correct ? I can buy a laptop for 60$. Should I tackle this alone or just pay up to somebody that knows what there doing thank you
I would do it yourself to be honest, its relatively inexpensive. Just give me a shout if you need further assistance on getting it set up.

Nice vid! Current M-ASK 2 got replaced, do I have to code the new replacement?
If your missing features I would suggest to code it, but if it’s not missing any features it does not have to be coded unless your running into issues
@@aimized1460 I have an aux port already (back of arm rest), if the replacement is missing that feature, do I follow the same steps in the video?

@@aimized1460 thanks for the reply! Also saw on some forums people get a "Error unit not coded correctly" a fix for that would be pretty handy just in case.

How do you download or get those two progams on your MAC? And where do you get the cable needed to connect from laptop to car? Why don’t you show how you hooked up the computer to the car? I just need to know what cable is needed, thanks
So boot camp is a standard program on mac that enables you to load a windows OS onto your Mac. Found in applications - utilities. Cable was a generic K-can/d-can cable off of ebay. In terms of hooking it up to the car, it plugs into the OBD port and then into your USB port. Then you open up INPA and then ISTA. See link below for the cable I use and Bimmerfest has a wealth of info on all of this. I’ll do my best to answer any more questions. @@theajfam8727 you can run windows 10 for free unactivated. You’ll just have a water mark in the bottom corner. No issues with that at all

in my case in the 5'13'' minute of your movie. I have GPS but it doesn't show me ZAPPL and if I enter with MASK, then it doesn't show up " CODIERDATEN_LESEN. what can I do? Thanks
Hi António, thanks for watching! It won’t work with Mask if you have a full size CCC but it sounds to me like you have mask as ZAPPL shouldn’t be on there. What spec is your car? Mask 11? Mask 1? CIC, CCC etc? Size of screen? See if we can pin point it down. 👍
