We should get Matt to try n pull that stuck container ship out in the Suez Canal. He'll get em out!! 🤣
Only if Ed’s passport is up to date.
Oh hell awesome comment
They need 300 jeeps connected with kinetic ropes
Come on you photoshop people, we need a pic of that happening! Suez, here we come! Wonder if the ship has tow hooks...
That'll never happen. Matt is too competent.
You should do a compilation video of every time Matt touches something too hot to touch and then is amazed that he did it. Be a couple hours long.
I realized he was gonna burn himself before he even crouched down lol
Hot metal looks a lot like cold metal.
@@briandechant972 when it doesn't, you REALLY don't want to touch it.
Agreed!
@@robertthewolfman I am amazed (as someone who used to be a steel-worker in the early 1970's ) how often Rudy or Matt get hurt. I'd never drill a hole in a tiny iron-piece by just holding it. (Rudy at 8:34-36)
Matt is so modest
Congratulations guys! That thing is AWESOME!!!
"..........and I've been up all night worrying about Rudy being out all night on a towing job". True dad spirit. And it never goes away, regardless of how old they are - they are always your little boy. Thanks for putting that out there.
I can’t be the only one that thought it was wholesome when Matt said he was up all night worried about Rudy
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I’ve never been this excited for someone else’s build! So stoked for you guys. Fantastic work all around
I’ll be the first to say this...I remember you saying this back several episodes...😂
Couldn't say it better myself, super exciting.
What a spectacular success this episode showed. The build showed more than the combined effort. The Morrvair revealed her own precious input… What a gentle BEAST!
So we got a call. Something about a container ship? We will get em out!
...and be back in time for EJS
Rudy was up all night pulling a ship, "but we got them out". LOL
Had ta meet up with Jamie Davis and The General in Dubai... Needless to say we both broke! 😂😂😂🤑🤑
*screams in Evergreen Ever Given*
Man those windows are so clean it’s as if there not even there!
When purging power steering system, raise the vehicle so the front wheels are off the floor. Turn the wheel lock to lock without the engine running first! Do this until no more fluid needs to be added. Then start the vehicle and turn the wheel lock to lock to push the remaining air out. This prevents foaming and keeps the pump from cavitation
I must admit, the Corvair really is going to be a killer rock crawler. Approach and departure angles way better than expected. Cant wait to see it’s first tough recovery. Looks awesome 👍
Ruddy at the start is such a relatable mood for working a double or second shift lol.
You could see he was beyond the point of exhausted and running on pure caffeine and hate. I think we can all relate.
Reminds me of my 80 hour work week, working two full times job I did for three months straight. NEVER AGAIN!
@@_DMAC running on hate. Too relatable
I absolutely love this. I am old enough to have learned to drive in a Corvair (1966) with this body style. My family had a four-door coupe & a station wagon, both in red, and bought new from the dealer. All summer long my friends and I worked our part-time jobs. Then the weekend came, and we drove hours seeing how far we could go and get back by our bedtimes. We spent our money on gas, Coca-Cola, and hamburgers & fries.
You're so modest, Matt. No mention of your pulling that huge ship off the banks of the Suez Canal!
I always like that faint guitar playing in the background!
You're right! Just a little something in the background....Very nice detail...
One of the coolest off-road vehicles on youtube, and the fact that you guys built it yourself makes it even more so. One of the reasons your channel has blown up in such a short time. Might even get more subs if you all blew a kiss at the end.
Thank you for making a channel that's not only entertaining, but clean so I can watch it with my family. We enjoy it.
They are normal people
Seems like I’ve been a subscriber less than a year, but I feel as though we have all seen Rudy grow into a very capable young man in that short time. Maybe his talents were well hidden early on...😁
As a parent, I know Matt is very proud of Rudy, and rightfully so...
I was just thinking this is the coolest father/son project Ive ever seen
@@qomco don’t you KNOW IT? What a great thing for them both. Sharing the project and the recovery work.👍🏼
@Garrett Meador I only subscribe to a few channels. MORR is one of my personal favorite three.
Bien
You need a Holley HydraMat for your fuel tank. Get one that covers the entire bottom of your tank, and it will literally suck fuel till the tank is dry no matter what angle the vehicle sits
This has got to be one of the coolest builds ever, repurpose a classic, modernized, hand built, family and friends, built with pride.
The home garage engineering is excellent, approach and departure angles on that thing rival a military Humvee.
Nice job guys You just have to watch Matt's face to know how he feels!.
And built using recycled bits around the shop!
@@qwikz28 We saw a fair few new parts as well. Plus those trips to Vegas - was that for under body coating? - and a really nice professional paint job. I wonder if Matt will say how much it all cost when it is completely finished? I totally agree with @D_Shepard this one of the coolest builds on RUclips. I have a feeling that local people are watching closely trying to judge when it will be ready for its first recovery, so they can go get stuck and be the first Yellow Corvair recovery.
@@TrevorDennis100 Just the number of man hours would be scary, Are you talking total cost or out of pocket minus revenue generated. At what point is it considered finished? Still has a fueling issue to resolve and with no glass it is going to be difficult to heat or cool.
@@iffykidmn8170 Blimey! I wasn't even thinking of the man hours, but Rudy and Trevor will have been drawing a wage. I guess it adds up to investing in the channel. Socialblade puts the top end of MORR earnings at $528K and the Corvair is absolutely adding value to the channel which will make it grow all the faster, and if they make dollars out of the channel that's fine by me. They seem to have the formula just right. Fab Rats is also doing it right, and has raced past Casey's channel subscriber count. What's up with Casey anyhow? He is like Casey no-mates heading out with just him in the cab sometimes, whereas Matt needs two vehicles to carry his crew.
Hi guys, we love the relationship that you have with Rudy and everyone. Thank you very much for a drama free channel.
Its drama free cause they're all family
There is nothing like the sheer joy of the first ride in a car you restored. Epic job.
Restored? Built!
I’ve been meaning to say this for a few episodes now! This is the all American garage. When you’re working, you’re WORKING. When it’s break time, you grab any random/leftover rolling office chair you can find. You guys make my week with every episode. Can’t wait to visit Utah someday. Cheers
Can you imagine calling for a recovery and this badass ride comes pulling up to save the day!!!
It’s a Re corvair y unit
“It’s crooked by design...” now Matt’s even stealing my lines 🤣
The stance on the Corsair is just sick, absolutely perfect, nose-high and aggressive. Love the approach, departure and other angles, just love it period... 🇷🇴🇬🇧👍🏻
Matt, GM might want some of your ideas for a retro Corvair that people might actually want.
I highly, highly recommend multiple pickups in the tank. I can tell you from experience that a sump doesnt work in offroad application. The holley hydramat is very popular, or what i did was put in 4 walbro fuel pickups. One in each corner. Never had an issue out of it again. Thats my recommendation. Good work guys!
I can't recall seeing a 4x4 Chevy Corsair wheeling anywhere in the world before. This the one and only. Nice.
"It's weird having more power than I can use." I think that might be quite a learning curve once you start doing recoveries. Good job all, glad it's working well
“I’m super, super happy! I can’t even put it into words.” and “More power that I can use!” Matt’s in heaven. I must admit, she sounds really sweet and looks like a beast too. Congratulations
I have to agree! Great sounding exhaust and it looks like it will be just as capable as the banana, maybe even better?!?!? Maybe I should do the same to my Rampside...
@@61rampy65 Surely it has to be a lot better than the Banana to make such a big project worthwhile? It's looking like just about the coolest vehicle on RUclips right now.
@@TrevorDennis100 goal was, iirc, to have more power (hp, torque, drivetrain strengh) to handle "heavy duty" jobs easier. If it is more capable it is a neat bonus tho
I saw the rapture! Jesus Christ came back for his children and we were brought with him up into heaven! He split the skies and I saw many bright white spirits in Christ riding up with me and were saved! Have you accepted Christ before it’s too late? Please repent of your sins for a chance at eternal life!!!
@@OfficialWRX Stuck in Satan's muck and mire? Don't worry, Matt will get ya out!
Great Job Matt and your Team. There still a lot of little bugs to be worked out but that is part of the equation when you start from scratch on a complex project like this 4x4 built. Take your time and do it right it will save you time later on no many repairs and maintenance. Well Done. Many positive comments all around.
Been following the journey. I’m so happy for you guys! That beast is awesome! Looks so good.
Thanks for the wholesome content!
I just love when Trevor explains stuff. It really doesn't help at all, but you feel better instantly :D
3:41 Who else looks away from the welding arc even though it’s just a video? 😹
Muscle Memory haha
Yep. Old habits.
Welders flash is terrible
Yep its automatic
Lol, yeah! 😂 It's like ducking your head when you drive into a parking garage. 😂😂😂
I had a smile on my face watching this, the corvair looks amazing! You guys did an incredible job on everything!
Congratulations Matt and family! Great work and it's clear to see how happy you are in this vehicle after all the hard work!!! Beautiful machine!!
I never thought I'd say "that's a nice looking Corvair," but damn, that is one bad ass looking Corvair. Great job guys.
great cars, fuck Ralph Nader
Don't trust those self tappers for your hood latches, they'll work loose sure as anything. Gotta go with rivets.
He mentioned in another comment someone made that they’re temporary and will be getting rivets soon
I'm glad I'm not a self tapper. 🤣🤣
So fun to see the relief and pleasure in all your eyes that she’s nearly 100%. It been a long pull. Look like a proud papa with a first grandchild. Congratulations
I've been watching for the last two years Matt. And let me tell your brother I am so impressed with the work you do and that Corvair wagon is phenomenal. I have watched that build since you started it and it is awesome to see it almost complete. Keep up the good work!
I like you can tell Rudy is in a crappy mood but is mature enough to recognize it for what it is and not take it out on everyone. That's maturity that some twice his age haven't learned.
I had the same thought. Men raised right.
It's the Canadian in him.🇨🇦
@@saginawdan NO, it's the PARENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@nomatterwhereyougothereyou3344 Excuse my attempt at HUMOR!
Hi guys, I am not criticizing just sharing a personal experience here, when you get the hood lined up and shutting good I would replace your self tappers on the latches with pop rivets. I had a terrible time with the self tappers backing out
That thing looks dreamy underway, Congratulations! Nice work guys and gals!
Matt... I love the Corvair build. Very nice!! Those were ending when I was ten yrs old or less. I enjoy your Moab videos most of all. You tackled some big climbs and it did great. Personally I think it out did all of the other rides that were with you. Very good build. Something you and the gang that help should be very proud off. Top notch!!
Your Corvair project is beautiful, just beautiful. Your team amazes me with their knowledge of how engines and other systems work. To me it is like magical. Congratulations and well done.
I’ve never stuck around for a build, but this was one I just couldn’t miss out. What an amazing vehicle
it's interesting how something can be built in a certain amount of time and then all the finishing touches take as long or longer to sort out as the rest took to build.
That's always the case.
lol , the last 10% takes 90% of the time .. guaranteed with any project
@@888johnmac aka pareto principle or 80/20 rule
80% of sales come from 20% of your customers
80% of a job takes 20% of the total time to complete
The trick to estimating is merely multiply your initial guess by 4-5 eg a so called 1 hr job actually takes 4-5 hrs if you factor everything in
Congrats to all and thanks for for sharing this awesome build. I never missed a video. Can’t wait to see more of the Corvair in action. Many thanks for your great Chanel. Ray from Oregon
You guys are awesome, really good to see the progress on the corvair, and more importantly, you haven't resorted to the 'that'll do' attitude when the build was getting near the end. Looking forward to seeing the finishing touches like glass, door cards and body mouldings to complete it. And finally your first recovery using banana 2
Most anticipated video in a long time!
Isn't this cute? A newborn playing around, with that beautiful rumbling voice
This legit makes me smile! You already know this is a proud moment for him! Thanks for sharing it with us! Looking forward to seeing it saving folks along side his big bro the yellow banana
I have been enjoying your videos for some time now. Just wanted to thank you for your humble disposition and not having to use profanity or distasteful fillers to promote ratings. I also admire not only your skills in what you do - but also the fact that you don’t have humiliate those poor, unfortunate folks who are just trying to have an adventure. Keep up the good work!
What’s Westin’s line about “corvairs being perfectly capable off-road machines that have never been given the opportunity”
I felt you and Rudy pain when you both hurt yourselves. It was one of those " if this slips it gonna hurt". Bam it slips and it's sore and you say to yourself "I knew that was going to happen".
Like father like son.
This vehicle came out INCREDIBLE and I love the way the whole build went all along the way. Problems arose, were solved, improvements were made.. Rudy welds awesome, Matt you can figure out things on a whim.. really impressive series. I can't wait to see some more of it in action! Great looking rig. When you fist chose a Corvair I was skeptical because of ceiling height but I was wrong it's good.. and it's a super build.
So excited to finally see the Corvair ripping through the sand. It looks like it was always ment to be an off road beast. Thank you Matt and the crew.
The approach and departure angles on the Corvair are incredible!
Can I just say, trevor's beard game is on point
Hell Yeah it is. I was gonna comment the same! Matt's got a hella crew goin here!
I was thinking the same. 👌🏻
one sick beard no doubt !!!
ZZ top called, Trevor play guitar? Lol
I had my beard just like Trevor's but mines red like matts. I shaved it back because these stupid masks (I'm in Cali kill me) made it impossible to enjoy the long beard.
So awesome seeing y’all build this from start to finish, all the while still getting those awesome recovery videos. Keep up the good work!
Guys you are awesome! Watching the car building from the very beginning. You've made an ideal 4x4 vehicle! This is exactly what they should be from the factories. Big greetings from Moscow, we love you guys!
That thing sounds so cool with a small block...
"Igor, I've created a MONSTER!"
Use a Holly hydromat for that fuel tank and you'll never have to worry about not picking up fuel again I'm using Holly 16-101 in pretty much the same size and shape fuel take in my jeep cherokee. No fuel starvation yet.
I was going to comment the same thing.
@@jamescole6846 100% fix the issue and way better and easier fix than a sump.
I have not used one off road yet, put one in a classic car for an EFI up grade. Works great and was the first thing I thought of here.
Kibbetech Racing had the opportunity to test out the new Holley HydraMat on their no. 1466 race truck. The Kibbetech-prepped Ford Ranger, driven by Justin Oquendo, is powered by a 418 cubic inch LS3 that is controlled by a Holley Dominator EFI system.
Off-roaders have tried many tricks such as sumps, foam, and anything else they can think of to continue to get constant fuel as they are racing through the desert. Kibbetech put Holley’s HydraMat to the test to try and remedy their problems.
“Since the install of the mat, we have just over 300 off-road miles on the race truck. On our first day of testing we intentionally ran the truck out of fuel and to my surprise, when the truck was out of gas it quit; no missing, no surging, no drop in fuel pressure - the truck just stopped,” said Oquendo when asked how testing went.
From the moment they installed the mat they were able to tell a difference in the way the truck performed.
you guys are super friendly and when i watch your video! i really feel that im there with you guys and having true fun with you all!.... great people
Great job, You have all busted your asses on this build, your hard work and perseverance have paid off. Love your channel ! My first car in 1968 was a 61 Corvair I got when I was 16. Keep up the great work
Father and son do synchronization injuring themselves. Love how you 2 work side by side. Love how Matt respects Rudy's abilities.
The Corvair looks excellent on the dunes - stance is great. Well done everyone
she's awesome, elegant, brutal, biestly and pure. What a treat seeing her rip! Really nice build👍
I really appreciate and enjoy your channel, recently I watched the episode where you went in to get a Honda Talon. You were explaining why you built your trailer the way that it was. I don’t have but just a little experience in recovery and most of that was for heavy duty trucks. I have been a designer and fabricator for years. NEVER let anyone question your designs! I would lay money down that most of the armchair designers out there have never even operated a welder. It’s real easy to criticize and offer advice when one has never had to design and build a useful piece of equipment from the ground up. Pay no attention to those naysayers and just keep doing what you’re doing! You and your crew are awesome!
I know it’s not completely finished but I have to say, Congratulations 🍾🎉 Sir’s, Matt - Rudy & the Whole Team.
You now have “thee” Baddest Covair on the 🌏 Planet.

This is the most satisfying build I've seen in a long time. I love everything about this rig. Well done guys and gals, well done.
Matt & crew need to pack up the Winder-Vaire (MorrVaire), the Banana plus heap-ton of Matt's Yellow Yankum Ropes & get out to the Suez!
What a great accomplishment. Matt's smile doesn't convey how happy he really was
Looks beautiful. All that hard work is finally paying off with some seat time. Love how the tires are pushed all the way to corners.
Congratulations to the Build Crew for a job well done! The Corvair will serve you well, if it doesn't, I'll be happy to take it off your hands! Good luck Matt and make lots of money with her!
Whoever is adding the extra humor in the vid has a funny mind, good job. TyingitForward...
that thing is so unique and badass looking, I love it
OK, so we followed along as the punch list was completed before the first shakedown run and when you guys were actually out on the dunes recording such great footage, and with the Chev-air sounding so danged good! and with it's great breakover angles and everything else I could NOT wipe the grin off my face. Really happy to see such promise from such a great project. These last few vids featuring this rig really shows us how much experience Matt has with good ol' hotroddin' and general automotive McGuyverin'. Yet nothing we can see is "hack". It's GREAT!
Good job to Rudy for continuing to work hard!
Great team work guys! All the Best!
Cut out a stylized "W" in the Winder logo and cover the hole in the grill.
I can't believe you are on the trending page. Y'all deserve it, good job Matt!
This is the day I've been waiting for, when you take her out, an awesome build guys. Saw the other Corvair, I guess Rudy wants one as well.
Congrats, such a cool build to see it happen from the ground up and then to see its maiden voyage. It looks great out there! Great prowlness and wheelbase.
The most quality in depth build video series I've ever seen unreal job guys
You and your "Family style" crew have turned a really great channel into an amazing success! The appeal of your channel is it's sincerity and underlying common purpose of family. The Corvair is UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE! THIS IS WHAT A FUNCTIONAL WORKING PIECE OF ART LOOKS LIKE! Many of the Reality TV shows who claim to produce the best of the best could not have hit this mark, especially with the limited number of crew you have working on the project. We have built a lot of off road racing vehicles and this is one of the best builds I have seen from any source. If the off road magazines are smart, they will get in line to cover this vehicle.
Congratulations team. That’s a spectacular build!!! Speaks volumes of the team behind it!
Build another one with that other body, it would be awesome, AND you guys know what to do, it's fresh in your minds, people would love seeing the bananna with 2 corvairs!
