Pugil sticks was one of the best parts of Boot Camp, in my opinion.

Don't break a nail lol. We just used to hit like linebackers then fight the stick

Facts! I always used my helmet first then the fight began. But the Helmet usually did the job to where the instructor just said go away.

Pugil sticks in basic was awesome. The di/sdi's from each platoon were way into this. Part alpha, part inspection for them later that affects their standing. They would make side bets as the fight was going, screaming stuff like take his lunch money, or don't come back a loser youll be dead to me. Some people have never played contact sports they are in for a rough nite.

I was literally run over by the biggest recruit in our platoon. So much for on guard.

I always got paired with someone equally as good as I was. So we swung and swung neither one winning until the DS got aggravated and told us to quit. By that time we both were so worn out with a very long day ahead

I know my small mind is small and I am not there probably couldn't pass basic but there's something about those DI's my heart an soul enjoys. The yelling is like music. And I understand exactly what there job is. I get the majority of the consequences and the preperation.

Why and when did they drain the water I went thru boot camp in 85 3rdRTR Lima Co it was called bridge over trouble waters the Corps hasn't gotten pussified or what I even noticed on the slide for life there are nets and stair way to heaven there are pads on the deck

Hey, there are people out there who couldn’t even do what boot camps provides now. I don’t think it “pussifies” things. Training changes over time and more sane methods develop. MCMAP & Various other courses that marines can pursue will offer plenty of that non “pussified” training. You aren’t special for having been offered the chance to get wet cuz recruit schmuck knocked you on your head. I guarantee you’re the type of person to rant about being a marine yet probably were some sh*tbag sitting at a desk for a few years hating life. But that’s an assumption 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@MarylandMarshmallow no asshole I don't rant about being a Marine and I am not going to sit here tell someone my whole 20yrs in the Corps history but one thing is for sure your assumption is like an asshole and everyone got one
