I’ve never done this, I am this year. My word, Individuation. I’m down 112 lbs, started working out. Made a reading list for 2025, already started. Also, my dream is to write a novel. Started working on that as well. Time to finally create the life I want and to no longer dream about things, it’s time to achieve them.

Be the person who shows up.’ Simple, but it’s got that punch we all need, right? Here’s to showing up for ourselves, even if it’s just for 15 squats or picking the healthier snack. Wishing everyone here a year full of small wins and big breakthroughs!"

Delayed gratification is such a great tool and skill to learn. I personally have gone in and out of cycles all of my adult life practicing delayed gratification, and when I’m in the cycles of practicing it, I achieve so much more and I feel so much more proud of myself.I’m definitely in the practice of delayed gratification right now! It’s working.

I chose Friday 20th of December to start anew, because it was hard and made Monday easier, having a head start of some sort. The next week will be different from any other week of the year, so there will be less to remind me of how I used to be, giving me another head start. I think my plan is good, I made up my mind in any case, so it will happen no matter what I might want in the moment 🧠💨💪
Merry Christmas and a happy new year✌️💚🖖

Check out the pod he did with Barrett Brooks. They’re friends from college. We get to hear the real James Clear. Less the guy who talks in soundbites because he’s asked the same old crappy questions.

I love these videos. I always pull out my notes app and reevaluate what I have been doing since the start of the year. I now have a couple more habits that I want to add back into my life, thank you!

Frequency x Severity is a insurance term kind of works for this.
First work on getting your frequency of "doing" up
Then optimize for severity or intensity/impact/concentration

Saving this for a later watch. But in my experience if you wait till new year to improve on your life you are going to fail. Because you don't really want to improve. If you'd want it, you'd start right now.

“Of all the things that are, some are good, others bad, and yet others indifferent. The good are virtues and all that share in them; the bad are the vices and all that indulge them; the indifferent lie in between virtue and vice and include wealth, health, life, death, pleasure, and pain.”

Was there an issue with the content? I thought it was great.

"This and only this can be the new year’s resolution: I resolve never to make any resolutions because all resolutions are restrictions for the future. All resolutions are imprisonments. You decide today for tomorrow? You have destroyed tomorrow.
Allow the tomorrow to have its own being. Let it come in its own way! Let it bring its own gifts. Resolution means you will allow only this and you will not allow that. Resolution means you would like the sun to rise in the west and not in the east. If it rises in the east, you will not open your windows; you will keep your windows open to the west.
What is resolution? Resolution is struggle. Resolution is ego. Resolution is saying, “I cannot live spontaneously.” And if you cannot live spontaneously, you don’t live at all - you only pretend.
So let only one resolution be there: I will never make any resolutions. Drop all resolutions! Let life be a natural spontaneity. The only golden rule is that there are no golden rules".

I am certain Clear did not intend this however the morons who are leading my company have turned his Atomic Habits, into a micro management platform to assess 'atomic' level (micro level) 'habits'/actions/tactics - through weekly share-backs among our sales team. They are so annoyed.

Stop with all the God references and magnetic aura crap-believe in things that can be proven by the scientific method.
Look to things that are Observable and Repeatable. I repeat, Observable and Repeatable.

It is alot better than it used to be. I started debating believers in 1987, there aren't many of them left, although they use the Internet to make it seem they are plentyful. The comments here seem organized, I wouldn't be surprised if one person posted all of them.
      Happy Yuletime✌️💚🖖
