We are so used to beating ourselves up that we forget the value of collaborating with the way our brains are wired. Layering good behaviors onto bad habits is a fresh perspective challenging the idea that breaking patterns requires brute force.

This is my observation of younger men, middle age men in my mid 70's.. You simply don't value silence, you don't value just breathing. It's, I got to do this this then this. Of course you have to workout, you have to eat, you have to sleep, you have to keep your affairs in order. The discussed approach Huberman is talking about just doesn't last.

Part of my habits are to be in silence meditating with my red light therapy mask on.. over the last 4 years, I've accumulated countless habits by stacking them slowly on top of eachother. And it actually has been sustainable because it's been a slow process and stacking them on top of an already set habit. Totally works

sounds good. i could write like a 100 or a 1000 more, and i don't meant swaping spanish for french or harmonica for flute
thje important part is to understand that if you want to have a good life you ahve to take good care of your body, mind and spirit
reading from the Bible is good even for atheists, focus on New Testament and try to get the best understanding of what it means, this book is quite deep and can help you know yourself, and the world and your path, giving you confidence against people trying to manipulate yuou and get you off your way

    Jillian Hessel Second generation
Rael Isacowitz founder of BASI Pilates
These people are the real deal and know everything There is to know about body mechanics. There is an interesting history of Joseph Pilates. Also, the controversy in the 80s regarding using the Pilates name.
Most important is the science behind this modality and how it serves the human body.

I'd add to this 2 or 3 levels of varying difficulty, eg increase number of fruit by one or two items per day though this is something that should be tapered similar to an addiction. A more challenging one might be smoking cessation, remove the first one each day for a week, eg one before breakfast? Just after breakfast? Just before getting on the bus. That builds up delayed gratification, coping mechanisms and the ability to say no that are vital later on.

Dr. Huberman out here dropping the science-backed hacks we all needed to hear! 🧠✨ Building habits? Breaking habits? Turns out it’s less about willpower and more about rewiring those sneaky neural circuits.
Love the permission to fail-because let’s face it, “perfect” isn’t a habit anyone’s mastered yet. 😅 And the idea of replacement behaviors? Chef’s kiss. Goodbye doom scrolling, hello... well, anything better than doom scrolling. 📱➡📖
Excuse us while we attempt to rewire our circuits in 21 days. Wish us luck-and maybe a backup plan. 🙌

How does one change a habit of needing to eat carbs at midnight after failing to fall asleep. This (nightly) bad habit induces sleep, but raises blood glucose (spiking) enabling weight gain. Add more greens in your diet which keeps you more alert. Then start taking away the caffeine I don’t know what your bad habit is, but this works for most bad habits.
