Hange's death was the one thing I felt they HAD to get right when animated, and I was not let down, forever setting herself and our hearts ablaze, she gave more than her heart and I cried all over again not even gonna lie. They went above and beyond to nail that, and bringing back Bauklötze as the ost for Hange, was such a chef's kiss.
Moblit is that guy!!! Always there for Hange even after she died!!! A real one ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Oh yeah: the song that plays during her (hopefully) world-saving sacrifice is the same one that plays in S1 when Eren decides to trust his comrades (Levi Squad in the forest vs. Female Titan). Hopefully this time the outcome is better!

Love that her and Erwin went out in an awesome way as commander, each of them doing what they are best at, Erwin left leading all the soldiers to hell with an unforgettable legendary speech, Hange left doing what she loves the most, admiring the beauty of titans and faced them solo, took down many and fulfilled her duty. Both unique and both can’t even be compared.

One of the biggest reasons I have always said that Attack on Titan is absolutely Top Tier writing is because of its constant intertwining and side story. Moblit has always been Hange's right hand man. He has been with her since her early appearances and even was the one all the way to the end where he pushed her into the well to save her from Armin's blast, but it doesn't stop there. He goes the extra mile when adding this scene showcasing everyone watching from the afterlife and having him be the first one to put his hand out to get Hange off the ground. It is just way to amazing for me to not think about everytime.

Armin only had access to Berthold's memories and Titan abilities. They don't share their predecessor's core emotions; Armin's feeling for Annie were more subtle during Season 1. He already had feelings for Annie before her reveal as the Female Titan, and waaay before he ate Bert. Eren ony said that to push Mikasa and Armin away I presume.😭 As Zeke even said, Mikasa has always genuinely been in vicious love with Eren and it has nothing to do with the Ackerman curse

Eren said to Reiner that he is like him he did what he did for the same reason of Reiner, « some people are in war because of their conditions but some people put themselves into that hell because they can see something at the end beyond of that hell…. The only way to know is to keep moving forward » Reiner confessed himself to Eren, he wasn’t forced to continuing the mission just because he wanted to save the world but because he wanted to be a « hero », so people would akcnowledge him. Eren does the RUMBLING so he can prove it was his own choices proving that he is born into this world no to be slave of his destiny but for being « free ».

I think he also said they are the same because Reiner cried and begged for forgiveness/judgment because he never felt what he did was right. He does so just like Eren did in front of Ramzi prior to this.

I'm sure Bert's memories merely hightened Armins already existing feelings for Annie. Especialy the fact that Bertolt has been in love with Annie since they were children in Marley. So Imagine seeing your crush's upbringing through another's eyes😓 crazy!

The beauty of this show is not only in its plot but its subtle choices, in 16:30 we first see Armin's shocked reaction to Hange's death, because he knows what its like to burn alive from titan steam

Eren's sheer ability to move forward is crazy. He is inspiring in a way, if we don't take genocide in the consideration. I firmly believe that, founder powers or not, his will to achieve his goals make him infinitive powerful, even if his enemy are as powerful as Levi he would find a way to win. My favorite character hands down.

Hange's death was the most beautifull anime death I've seen and I've seen some. The only actual scene that sometimes crops me up. The music is just perfect and she never breaks character in some melo-dramatic way. Nothing tops it... yet

The itterasshai that Mikasa says in Eren's dream, is a farewell that is used among people who live in the same house. When a person leaves the house he says ittekimasu (which means, I will leave but I will come back) and the person who stays at home answers itterasshai (which means, please go and come back).
Although there are translations like, come back soon, I'll see you later, take care or I'll see you again, a more literal translation that truly expresses the meaning of Itterasshai is, "please go and come back".
i never expected a show about ppl killing happy faced murderous giants to reflect real life and the world we live in as much as it does, and it's my favorite part about the show

Keep in mind that in the first chapter of shingeki no kiojin Wit Studio changed Eren's dream, for this reason at the beginning of this special chapter Mappa corrected that mistake.
Mappa made this correction because Eren and Mikasa's dream is fundamental to the end of the story. In the first chapter of the manga and at the beginning of this chapter it is understood that the dream that Eren mentions having had is about Mikasa and him, what was shown in the first chapter before Eren wakes up (titans, toys and corpses) is a change made by Wit Studio and has nothing to do with Eren and Mikasa's dream shown in the first chapter of the manga.

Ah yes, the start to the end of the longest "Final" season ever. I only needed to wait through 3 separate breaks in between.
Sadly. MAPPA was pressured to name it this and was also given an impossible deadline. they never wanted to name it the final season. there would've been season 4 to 5 and they would've ended probably with a movie. sadly, it never went that way and now MAPPA is getting the rough end for it.

halil didn't really understand what eren was saying, we saw in the last episode that they don't speak japanese it's just for the sake of the viewer this episode they made them speak in japanese. That's also probably why Eren told him everything since he knew he can't understand him and he needed to tell someone.

I remember when I read Hange’s scene in the black and white comic. I was SO mad thinking they just showed her all stomped on and disrespected. Then I was SO happy when we saw her send off

Y'all finally made it, congrats! This episode really lived up to our expectations; MAPPA and all of the voice actors did some of the best work they've ever done. Now you get to wait with use for The Final Season: Part 3: Part 2 😅
I'm liking all this speculation about Falco at the end. I also had been wondering about Falco's first scene for a long time, and I think he was seeing memories from Ymir's time in the Scouts. I have what I think is a pretty strong feeling about what's going to happen, though-I'll mark it SPOILERS just in case:
* Mr. Ksaver said his Titan wasn't very useful in war.
* Zeke's Beast Titan is VERY useful in war, and in an obvious way-he's like a sentient ultra-powerful trebuchet. It's not a modern weapon; if Ksaver's Titan were just like Zeke's then it would have been useful too.
* Zeke has a monkey toy when he's a kid.
* When Ksaver flashes back to when his old family died, there's a goat or ram toy on the shelf.
* The Titan is called-even by Marley-the BEAST Titan, not the Ape or Monkey Titan.
* I therefore think that the Beast Titan takes the form of a different animal depending on its holder.
* I think that this means that if Falco saw Zeke's memories and saw himself flying in them, it means that a past Beast holder was a bird-type Titan.
* Falco's Jaw Titan somewhat reflects this because he was made using Zeke's spinal fluid.
* (One of the Marleyan military generals sarcastically asks whether they have a Titan that can fly so that they can maintain their military advantage in the future.)
* The Female Titan is good at manifesting various Titan abilities, which finally explains why she is the only Titan without an explicit ability (come on, "Female Titan"?) and why she could harden like Eren after he drank the Armor vial as well as cocoon herself like the Warhammer and Call pure titans in a lesser form of what Zeke could do with his royal blood.
* Given all this-and the focuses on the birds in the show, and the seagulls in this episode-I think that by eating part of Falco's Titan, Annie can make the Female Titan manifest wings which they can use to join the fight against Eren.
* I also noticed that there is a SINGLE FRAME in the opening credits that shows a giant bird flying toward the sun. There are multiple frames of this, but only one that I feel like confirms my point: in that one frame, you can see that the giant bird *has fingers* on the ends of its wings.
Of course Eren was right. No peaceful solution has been found and the whole world threatens to destroy your country and your people, we don't get into good feelings like the Cringevengers. You prefer to save your friends, your family, your compatriots rather than running stupidly trying to save your oppressors who have only one goal, that of eradicating you to the last. No other possible solution, destroy or be destroyed and Floch being the most realistic and pragmatic character of the show, he understood it very well from the beginning.

The confusion here is that you're assuming all titans are exactly the same...but every titan is unique in different titan holders...same way the attack titan is a fat dude in grisha but a ripped Chad in eren.
Or how the founding titan literally has no face on ymir but is a giant pile of bones on eren.
Safe to assume the beast titan would still be a beast but would be a probably different beast(or animal) in each holder
Now falco has ingested zekes spinal fluid and is manifesting some beastly features...unlike being a pure jaw titan his titan has claws like a bird and feathers...and falco is saying here he feels like he'd be able to fly

So Annie who actually is a worrier and was killing people of paradise for her selfish goal which is going back to her daddy gave up on fighting and went on the ship because she thought her daddy is dead. But the people of paradise still went to fight their best friend who is doing it for them????? I hate this girl and the writing of these last episodes it's crazy how it went downhill.

I started watching this stream as it aired on my phone. But I had to switch over to my computer. The chat is live but the video keeps bringing me back to where I left off and it's not in sync with what's actually going on. RUclips needs to fix this 😞

When this special aired, it single-handedly changed the entire show for me, it was great before but this was beyond incredible and eventually what pushed me to read the manga.

I really like how they adapted these chapters, Hanges sacrifice in the manga is only a few pages, read in like 40 seconds… here she gets so much love.

The death of Hange reminds me of Icarus's story
You know, if there was a tall steep mountain or mountain range, the colossal titans would never be able to get past it because they would slip and fall trying to walk up such a steep incline.
Only after numerous colossals were on the ground and created a mound of Titan bodies to walk on would those in the back be able to get over the mountain…to which again they would all slip and fall again on the other side.
