    I LOVE your way of speaking. English is not my first language, but your speech is exceptionally intelligible. I listen to it like I would listen my mother-tongue. My doctor said, that sport is possible at least 4 weeks after last banding and recovery after hemoroidectomy lasts at least 6 weeks. And after this time if everything feels perfect, after doctor's assessment, slowly it is possible to return to sports.
    So far in my case banding should fix everything, but several procedures are needed, one-by-one, in 3 week intervals, so roughly I will be for 6 months out of sports. Especially out of cycling that I like so much...

    Ive slowly gotten back into weightlifting and cardio. I agree, listen to your anus. I find that weightlifting is okay as long as I'm not straining. Straining causes that down ward force toward and thru out the anus that can be very detrimental for hemorrhoids and fissures. Like what Dr. Chung mentioned here, I focus on isolating the force on the given muscle being worked and of course the breathing. Exhale during the lift and inhale during the negative. Breathing is very important. If anything the cardio can be bothersome. I do stair climber and elliptical and its the friction from the rubbing between the cheeks during the motion that does it. They say 30 min of cardio is what you should do. There's no reason for why that can't be broken up. Two sessions of 15 min. It's moderation. Walking isn't as effective for cardio but more user friendly on the anus. Walk longer if you can to make up for that. Hiking is actually my favorite cardio activity. Anytime I'm able to get somewhere for a good hike, I don't pass on the opportunity. Be one with the great outdoors!

    I just discovered there are videos on RUclips about yoga for hemorrhoids. I will definitely be trying this. Would love feedback if anyone has had success with this!
    Another great tip to make straining or lifting less likely to further irritate things is to be sure to exhale while lifting or pushing instead of holding your breath.

    You definitely have to to move around, sitting is the worst thing for you laying down is a little better, but you need to move and stay active, inactivity is all the water out of one of the primary causes of hemorrhoids and constipation. Sitting is the worst thing you can do.

    Just posting this in case it helps anybody. I changed from a SAD to a carnivore diet in a desperate attempt to try and lose weight. I was shit-scared of going fibreless because I thought I would get horrendously constipated. Well my bowel movements certainly slowed down.. average was 4-5 days apart. But when it happened, they were perfectly shaped and moist. Not constipated. What I didn't expect also was the amazing quietening of my digestion and my anus. I would suffer about 4-5 haemmorroids per year before this. For the first time since I couldn't remember when, my butt felt.. normal! This carried on for about 6 months and then had a flare up when I re-introced some fibre components (prunes actually, to try and increase by poop frequency.. so I ditched that idea). Fast forward, things were definitely better but still not perfect. Just last June, I had a bit of a cheese binge. Result? Massive constipation, partial prolapse, huge fissure that sprayed blood with every stool and worst haemmorroids ever! (I was always a bit suspicous of dairy). I am now 2 months sans-cheese. EVERYTHING has healed better than ever and I'm still on carnivore BUT now my bowel movements are DAILY and still perfectly shaped and moist. One full year carnivore now and incase anybody is wondering.. yes I did lose weight. Dropped fat almost effortlessly, maininting it with no thought at all, weigh as much as in my 20s again. Good luck to you all.

      @pcdude281 2 месяца назад

      @@normal8852 Still mostly carni and still fine. I made peace with dairy to a degree so long as it is high fat and good quality. No shitty supermarket brands. Bowel movements do whatever they want, but no haemorrhoids. Type 4s mostly. I now also eat avocado's because they are high fat and low fibre, and very small amounts of Fermented veggies. Literally just garnish.
      How to start.. Gradually!! You gut needs time to adjust. I went cold turkey. I don't recommend it.

    Question. Does what's covered on this video also apply to recovery from anal fistula? That's something that's a bit confusing on the internet, and my surgeon said no restrictions. I'm 3 weeks from fistulotomy today. And prior to this, I was doing 6-7 days of exercise, 5 days of weightlifting, and 6-7 days of cardio (30 mins on days I lifted, 60-90 mins on "off" days), and those cardio sessions were intense. Level 10 on the stairs, not using hands. 10-15% incline on the treadmill walking. Hill sprints for an hour. I'm obviously not back into those, but my concern is the sweat. I sweat a LOT, and I'm worried about that affecting my recovery, and potentially causing an infection or another abscess. I shower right after my workouts, but that's after a 10 min drive, and possibly feeding the cats, so it's sometimes 15-20 mins of essentially sitting in sweat.

    THANK YOU for this video. I've been strength training for years now and I had THE largest hemorrhoid of my life and was afraid to train after a week.
    After watching your videos, I was inspired to get back in the gym.
    At first, I would flex that muscle (don't recall the name) that contracts your anus before a lift. It helped to make it less uncomfortable.
    It's been over a week now, and I don't have pain, it's not itchy, and over all feel better though, it still feels like there's a bean coming out of my butt 😅.
    I've been using suppositories which contains lidocaine and hydrocortisone. I'm going to continue using this remedy until I feel 100%, or the hemorrhoid retracts. And if it's still there after a couple weeks I'm going to go see a doctor here in Medellin just to make sure that I'm not at risk of anything I'm unaware of.
    Thank you again Dr your videos are very educational and your sense of humor is very welcoming and warm. All the best to you your family and your practice as well as your RUclips channel.
