    Sash fillister plane - i had planned to build that plane for a long time. Today it is not a plan, it's a plane.
    Despite some mistakes or shortcomings i'm proud how it came out. I know that video is very long, but as always i couldn't show you less.
    At the end of the video i choose the winner of my last giveaway.
    Marking gauge from spalted wood have new owner :)
    Congrats!
    If you have any questions or sugestions just write a comment.
    Enjoy!

      What mistakes or short comings. The plane came out beautiful and awesome looking as well as working great from what I saw. I would love it or any of your planes. Your are a hell of a craftsman.

    Godammit that is one serious looking plane.
    That has to be the best YT video I’ve ever seen.
    Complicated, accurate, beautiful, even the wedge is a work of art.
    Love the sounds of you working, doesn’t need music and writing on the wood
    Master piece

    • @bentz98125
      @bentz98125 4 года назад +2

      Yeah you could fall asleep or better still, meditate to the sounds of the master at work. Try that with power tools! His wood notepad/chalk boards show how in the end written words are but floating wisps enroute to the floor. And James Bond may have sexy horns and bad ass guitar licks, but Stavros's finger snap kills!

    • @scottanderson2581
      @scottanderson2581 4 года назад +1

      David Bentz I love his finger snap, sometimes I try to guess when he’ll do it.
      No need to show every stage, just snap your fingers.
      Brilliant.

    Tego się już nie da odzobaczyć!!! Jesteś wielki. Każdy projekt i realizacja jest coraz lepsza więc strach myśleć co będzie później. Detalami zabijasz!! Głupie śruby I nakrętki to jak najdroższe diamenty na szyjach modelek z domu Channel!! Rozwijaj się dalej bo tworzysz coś o czym obecnie się już tak bardzo nie pamięta a ty jesteś takim swoistym wehikulem czasu przypominającym nam o tym że dawniej wszystkie potęgi były budowane pracą rąk ludzkich i takimi właśnie narzędziami,!!! I moved to Japan and don't have any of my electric tools. There isn't any space for them and the noise in the house would be too great, so I decided to work without any electric tools, or at least with minimal electric tools; this lead me to hand planes, both European and Asian- and to your site. I have discovered a whole new world that existed for centuries! I am anxious to go deeper into the hand plane and chisel wood working realm.
    Thank you, for your fantastic videos, and I'll check out Lukasz's videos too.

    Thank you Gakos for another great video. I’m new to your channel, joined about four or five days ago. I’ve watched every video you have put on your video list. I really enjoy them all. You asked in one video if you should do subtitles, I don’t think it’s needed. When you write on the wood is perfect for me. And from the comments most all feel the same way.
    The box wood you use in most of your videos sparked my interest, so I researched about it. To my amassment it’s the same one we have here in Texas. I’ll have to try working some one day. Just gotta find the time when my neighbor is gone to harvest some.
    And by the way happy belated birthday.

    What a beautiful job you made of this. I thoroughly enjoyed the video.
    I did wonder why you used a router jig to square the ends of the timber when a shooting board and plane would have been faster and cleaner?
    It probably made perfect sense in your case to cut a plane iron to make this but for those who also wish to do so it is possible to buy off the peg, plane iron blanks for moulding planes that one can grind or sharpen to one's own specification or design.
