That is beautiful sir absolute talent..
WOW!
Very nice and creative.
Hi stavros, could you tell me the measurements you mark at 5:29? On the end of the plane body? I’m going to make one of these myself. What to I need to mark out? Thanks in advance.

That was absolutely amazing!!!!..... the vision and skill combined with the confidence in both is on full display ladies and gentlemen!!!!... he’s MAKING ART that MAKES ART!!!..it’s exactly this kind of stuff that makes me proud of my trade/craft and the time and energy and humility it takes to become great.. it is now 2 am and I am heading out to my lil shop in my PJs!!!...i have things to make✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Thanks :)
Stavros, you could be the main reason for the resurgence of making, restoring, and use of wooden hand planes. Great job! Bill
That whould be nice :) thank you Bill!
Stavros, Is there an official title for a person who has mastered a craft in your country? In the USA there is a specific path a person takes in a trade that includes school, time on the job, and a competency exam to become a Journeyman, and later a Master. We also have fields of interest where a person can become so excellent at what they do, others refer to them as a Master. You sir, are a Master in advanced wood working and hand plane making. Can you teach outside of RUclips or your home? Are you a licensed Master in your country? By the way, where do you live?
I watched this when I first discovered your channel, quite a long time ago, and watched it again because I really enjoy watching your craftmanship.
Thanks Matt 🍻
This is not carpentry. This is not craftsmanship. This is invention. Genius simply !
Thanks a lot!
I cannot understand how anyone could give this presentation a thumbs down. You have just given a complete expert lesson in plane building. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you David! Those thumb down are because i don used cnc ;) Regards!
humanity can survive with men like you .....congrats mate
Thanks :)
I‘m deeply impressed! That plane turned out to be beautiful and it works like a charm. Making it with the tools that have been available hundreds of years ago let‘s me realized what our forefather could do with what they had. All it takes is the idea, the knowledge how to use the tools you got, time and the effort to precisely make another valuable tool that would be inherited to future generations of artisans. Thank you for this education!
I Used to think that some things can only be made by a machine, until I subscribed to this channel. Respect
Thank you and welcome :)
Form, fit and function.
Truly amazing work.
Awesome handmade job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The fact that you do all your own tooling makes your finished products that much more impressive. Amazing!
Thanks a lot David!
MA GNI FIQUE !!!!! Quel savoir !!! 👍👍👍👍👍✌️
Il n’a pas dû être formé chez IKEA lui 🤣
I cannot like this video enough - bravo, bravo
That's the most amazingly badass woodworking tool I've ever seen and you made it from scratch, simply blown away by your talent. I wish I could apprentice under you. That's just something you don't see anymore, dying breed! Thank you for sharing!
Bravo Stavros.
Had to show this to my stepfather, who, like me, does some kind of woodworking every now and then.
He said he'd rather watch this than go to the movies, and I second him.
Congrats and cheers from Brazil, mister.
I appereciate it :) thank you!
In spanish it is said: "Me lo he pasado teta (I had a great time)"
Complex molding planes look so pretty and intricate that I couldn’t wrap my head around the process, but now I see how it’s done. Thank you very much for helping me understand the tools I use! 👍🏻
I can't find any words to express my admiration, respect, jelousity...
Thank you Raif :)
I don't have enough thumbs !!!
Each plane you make is more impressive than the last! Keep them coming. You are such an inspiration.
Thanks Robert :) Regards!
Powiem Ci gościu, Panie i Panowie czapki z głów. To ręczna robota na najwyższym poziomie. A kolekcja strugów do pozazdroszczenia. Masz w rękach fach.
Dzięki Konrad!
Truly an artisan! I see the quality, the patience, and the passion you have for what you do!
Beautiful plane made by an true master plane maker
Thank you
It never ceases to amaze me how you work out how to do the simple planes, never mind something as complicated as this thing ! Kudos my friend, your an absolute genius ! I especially like the way you use the planes you have already made, to make the new planes you need.
Thanks a lot!
What a marvelous tool, Stavros. Congratulations on building an outstanding piece of art.
Thanks a lot :)
I may cancel my Netflix subscription and just watch Stavros from now on. This was fascinating.
Thanks a lot Eric :)
Absolutely amazing...Gods given talent...you are the Rembrant of woodworking...keep in goi😊ng brother...
It is very rare to make the panels with hand tools. Usually a rotor bit is used. But I see this produces amazing quality panels! Amazing work!
Thank you Kostas!
NO RAIN WONDER THESE THINGS ARE SO EXPENSIVE!
BUT WITH PROPER CARE,THEY'LL LAST FOR GENERATIONS!
EXCELLENT WORK!
ROY UNDERHILL WOULD BE PROUD!
Thanks a lot :)
Masterful - a sprung plane with a skew blade/mouth - I am a collector of wooden planes and I have never ever even seen one of these - these are rarer than chicken's teeth - amazing.
Haha chiken's teeth :)
Thanks a lot!
What a crazy Effin build!! Hats off to ya!! That was truly sick!
That takes talent and patience. What i want to know is how are there actually 58 people that watched this that didn't like it. There is something to be said about a wood shop that isn't drowned out by the constant buzz of mechanical power tools.
Some folks just like to complain and disapprove for its own sake, it seems.
Some disagree with a thumbs down cause this project is beyond their reach..😅😅😅😅😅
Excellent craftsmanship
Those 2 router flattening jigs are AWESOME
If yo don't have a vid on those - simple as they are - please make one
and it doesn't need to be said, but your planes are phenomenal! Your attention to detail and craftsmanship are a joy to watch. They certainly look like they are a pleasure to use as well.
Thanks a lot Greg! You can find more photos and short clips about one of this jigs on my instagram profile - in few of older posts. Regards!
Beautiful work!! I enjoy watching your videos
I wonder how many audience members have a sense of complex the theory is to get a blade to make that cut. And you show both with and across the grain. I am completely mesmerized and inspired. I also love how this combines and continues some of your past projects and predecessors. Is there a story behind Holbrook Bristol or H.R. Burden? And their tool has a panel cut in it! This is now my favorite video to explain to fellow invention and geometry nerds why I am a fan of what you do. Wow.
Thanks a lot David :) There is no story behind, this project is based on classic panel raising planes but i draw the sole profile in my way.
Phenomenal and inspirational work.
A wonderfull work!!!
You have a great profession experience!!!
Many greatings from Germany.
Thanks a lot Juan :)
Greetings from Poland
Only you......Your the man!!!!
Thank you!
this is one of the most impressive works I have ever seen, I totally enjoyed your video, than you.
Thanks a lot Rene :)
Amazing! Can't do that one, so guess I will have to stick with my router for my raised panels.😂
Great job the plane likes great. Your one hell of a craftsmen.
Thank you :)
Talent + craftsmanship = Excellence !!!
Beyond incredible! You have taken the level of tool -making through the roof! You created MORE than a plane, it is a work of art! WOW!
Thanks a lot :)
So, this is how it used to be done. It makes it easier to understand how beautiful furniture was manufactured, pre electric tools. Well done, excellent work.
I never knew there was such a great use for all those keyhole saws I inherited from my great great grandfather
Nice job, the end result says it all!
Thanks Richard!
Greetings from Michigan in the States. ......I like the jig you made to hold the iron while lapping. Beautiful plane too! Thanks for sharing and have a happy day!
Thanks a lot :) Regards!
You os Crazy!!!!!!! Man to sky!!!!!
Bealtiful you job. Tancks
Thank you

Thank you for explaining the difference between a sprung panel raiser and one that isn’t. I have a sprung p/raiser and I couldn’t understand why it didn’t have a nicker. I’ve had this tool in my collection for thirty years , it’s always been a puzzle why it didn’t have a nicker, now I understand. You the man.
You're welcome Berl :) it is my pleasure!
Your work is absolutely incredible! Can’t wait for the next one!!
Thank you Brian :)
Dziękuję :)
Haven't you ever considered being an orthopeadic surgeon? :) I am one of them and my hobby is carpentry and cabinetmaking. Your skill is extraordinary the exactitude and accuracy astonishing.
Just as it is requirred from an orthopaedic surgeon. István from Hungary.
Thanks a lot but i've never thought about it :)
Regards!
I'm a master cabinet maker but I'm real passionate about my hobby doing knee replacement surgeries!

very impressive. Thanks for sharing.
I love watching your tool making. Amazing craftsmanship... But have you thought of uploading some videos of the "pieces" you make?? You have to be "using" those tools... Furniture, cabinetry, curious etc.....
Thank you! Some day i'll make that kind of the video. Regards!
Good work done may God bless you
Beautiful work! Fantastic!
Thanks!
Work of a wizard!
Klasse Platthobel!
Thanks a lot! Regards!
it is a pleasure to see a craftsman at work i attempt equal perfection but am years behind thank you Stavros
Nice wook!
how come that one of the best craftsman on youtube has ONLY 46.6K followers, I really believe that we should give this guy a shot to a 1M subs...this is pure craftsmanship pieces that will last long after Stravos, THE FAMOUS is gone...55Stars
Thanks a lot Paulo, that was really kind :) Regards!
I just watched a guy carving a single block of wood and grinding a single piece of steel for 36 minutes with no voice recordings and I was totally absorbed. My wife asked: what are you watching? Response: Uh....
Tell me, if you had that workshop could you manage that job to that standard? For myself the answer is No! I think that is the answer to your question. With a heavy cold and a glass of Grouse next to a warm fire this has provided wonderful escapism! My next project is ……
Merci :)
fantastic !! a masterpiece. really BRAVO!
Human endeavour is spectacular 👌👌👌😳

Wow, I have watched your videos, and now I want to make some different planes. Please, don't stop making videos))
I'm glad that you want it :) regards!
Great plane as always a pleasure to wach
Excellent, beautifully done!
Thanks a lot!
Just fantastic workmanship
Thanks a lot Warren!
I was suspicious of this after my first couple of videos from Stavros. Now it is confirmed. I don’t know how he does half these projects. Layout alone I’d need to take on slow motion. Amazing.
Outstanding job!!!
Very, very nice.
very useful video, thanks
I have done some woodworks in the past but this woodwork plan ruclips.net/user/postUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG helps me do much in a far lesser time than i used to do i have already built several projects with this plan and i intend to do many more soon. Thank you so much!
What do you mean?
Ohhhhh my, where do I begin. TOTALLY captivated and mesmerised by this video. The clarity of detail and the clarity of PURPOSE of SHOWING the attention to detail of all the various stages is totally SUPERB. Oh and the GORGEOUS sound of the Beech being worked, wow that wood is beautiful. And then at 30:00 on wards with the GORGEOUS close ups and sounds again of the wood being worked and the incredible detailed workmanship. Words are hardly good enough but they are all I have, wow, yes like a comment below mentioning nirvana..... I am now thinking ecstacy of workmanship. Totally beautiful. INCREDIBLE. Please, MORE.
Thanks a lot! I'm glad you like it:)

Thanks a lot :)
Thank you :)
Wow. Very nice.👍
A man who loves his wood and woodwork, a real master of the trade, unfortunately as time goes on we are no replaced and so disappears hand made crafts replaced with reproducing machines. I know how it feels to be thrown aside by a copying machine or other similar reproduction machines which have taken our trades away, and our pride in making something beautiful out of a piece of wood,. meatal,, glasses, and other materials. I have enjoyed this video very much thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you Francesco!
Absolutely amazing sir! ❤
Amazing work! Gorgase finish on thed door!
Thanks!
Best channel on RUclips. You are so unbelievably, incredibly talented. I am obsessed with your videos. You are a genius.
To say that you have skills is an understatement.
Thank you :)
Very very good work❤️👍
That is phenomenal. I just did my first raised panel by hand last week using a should plane. It worked, but it was finicky. If I do more than a small number of those, I'm gonna want a plane like this for sure.
Very good. Very intricate
polak rodak świetna robota
