Hey Mike, I second your recommendation that these mods come with setups. I'm with you, I understand basic concepts of what big tweaks might do to a car, but get lost in all the minute details.
Funny how that fits the real car. Struggled at most tracks for almost a year, then managed to lead at Le Mans for a while and did decently. It was designed with that track in mind.
I'm praying RSS adds a few more GT-M (GT3) cars. Would love an RSS Mustang GT3, Ferrari 296, McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, and the Aston Martin. Doesn't ACC exist? Yes but the way you can customize the apps, control functions, specific tracks as mods, sound and skin mods hell even the helmets, pit crew members and driver suits can be customized.
I'm so glad VRC was the one to take this one after buying the F1 23 car. It makes such a big difference having two version of the car especially since im on controller. One thing I would like, if at all possible, is to be able to have driving characteristics of the non csp version to the csp version
6 euro is outrageous? I actually bumped it up to 10 euro because 1) I knew it would be awesome, and 2) because I think these guys deserve to get a fair price for their skill, time and effort. I'm not trying to pat myself on the back for giving a 4 euro tip, just making a point. We should be incredibly grateful that these guys are willing to do what they do for so little. I'm not at all wealthy, and of course I generally want to pay as little as possible for anything I buy. However, if we want people to make awesome things, especially in a niche genre where it likely won't sell millions of copies, we should be willing to pay a premium. What really astounds me is this attitude often comes from those who think they should be paid $30/hour to flip burgers or ring a cash register. Do these guys not deserve a fair and livable wage for the work they do? We're not even talking about a $100+ module for DCS. We're talking about 6 euro, about the same price as a fancy cup of coffee or two. Stop being so stingy. Ok, rant done. Thanks for the heads up about this car, Mike. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. And I agree. I think this is easily in the top 3, if not the best, and that will probably come down to personal preferences.
Meh....at almost 64 yrs young, a "former" rF1 Modder with a few FREE public releases still up at rFactor Central, & after 20+ yrs of online Sim Racing starting with NR2003, all I can say is, "How times have changed in recent years" when it comes to Modding. Same story with Race Setups. Where I come from (and lots of others) anyone who "dared" even breathe a suggestion of wanting money for any tracks, Apps, Car Mods etc we developed was ... for lack of better words ... more than severely "scoffed upon."
Curious: is this the same class as the 3 cars that Reiza released last month for their brand new Le Mans track in Automobilista 2? Think it's LMDh, the hybrid class. Just curious if you drove those cars when they were on a free preview around Christmas and how it compares with this gorgeous model from VRC. I found that driving those 3 beasts were a real treat (well, two as I didn't touch the Cadilac - I wouldn't touch a domestic vehicle with a 4 metre long pole, even a digital one). My impression was that they were really easy to handle even in stock setup and so very responsive. Some of these supercars can be a handful so I'm curious if the Pageau handles about the same as the AMS2 ones. Also curious how the Le Mans track compares between the 2 titles. I see tons of details on the track you're driving on in this video. Is this a free download? If you could please post a link to this track that'd be appreciated.
The point you bring up about excessive modelling is a good one. I just got the Pageau and I drive in VR. The amount of little details in the cockpit from the display, to the gopro camera at the side, to the wires connecting everything, its all really impressive, and absolutely helps with immersion. But frankly, it can still be a bit unnecessary. All the loose wires on the floor that you have to go out of your way to se, will only really be noticed in VR, yes, but even in VR, I would have been fine with a simple textured box "containing all the wires", just to optimize the car a little more. I've seen a few people make optimized variants of cars with less details. I think going forward, that would be something super high detail mod makers should consider. A model for screenshots and for showrooms, and one for more optimized racing with high car counts. Sim racing can be super demanding, with triple 4k screens and high res VR, etc. So having every little bit be as optimized as we can make it helps out.
What are you talking about? The model is already highly optimised. You can check the low-res cockpit, compare lod0-lod4 in the CM Showroom. Those extra few thousand polys small details are negligible for modern GPUs
@@CamTooling Implying everyone has a modern GPU. AC is over 9 years old which means it runs on old GPUs, and the economy is a mess which means not everyone can afford a new one. Why should VRC sacrifice their vision and details just to accommodate to those who can't catch up to the rest of us? Get with the times or get left behind. @@CamTooling Alright I pretend 4chan doesnt even exist. I wasnt even thinking about it when I typed that. Sorry for sounding like... one of them. There are still people with slower GPUs. RSS Huracan GT3 Evo2 for me has an ideal force feedback. But the best car ever in sim racing, in my opinion, is Kunos Lotus 98T. That toy is not for kids.
For me all this modding for Ac becomes pointless. I respect the modders a lot for giving us prolonged life on the sim racing titles that we enjoy BUT investing time and money on a stuff that practically cannot be used to race in the sim except online is something that keeps me from Ac lately. Ai doesn't use tyre wear, pit only for fuel, every track mod is hit and miss in terms how modded cars work, not to mention not briliant ai of Ac itself. Ac is in our hears and many of us start sim racing becouse of it but times are changing and investing time in something that advanced and using it for hotlapping is ok for anyone who enjoy just hotlapping but for actual racing NO.
I absolutely love this car but I find it very challenging to manage; I was constantly locking up the brakes until I dropped brake performance from 100 to 80% and that helped tremendously, but I'm still having a lot of trouble with understeer--anyone got any simple suggestions to dial that down a bit?
first, i think the 100% brake pressure in this mod is absolutely ridiculous and unrealistic. I actually drive with 75-80% and its better and more realistic. For understeer, there is a slider for aero that lets u adjust the front aero and if you increase the value from 10 to 12 or 13, you'll find its a bit more biting and still pretty stable - a noticable improvement. I wouldn't go past 14 tho
Agreed that is this one of the greatest mods ever but personally I can’t get into a rhythm with it. I think it might be ground effect not suiting my driving style. URDs GR010 is still my favourite Hyper car mod, though I expect VRCs p499 is going to be one.
Indeed a fun video. This one is not in my top3. Just can't connect with it. My top3 (at the moment, could change tomorrow:) ): Lanzo v12, Indy '99, Formula70.
Awesome list! And yeah, I could understand why people can’t connect with this. The difference between the stock setup and a good setup is very pronounced. More reason why VRC should add more default setups.
I like this car, however, I have to use the non CSP version. The CSP version requires 0.2.2 to work, which just causes too many issues with my VR setup. CSP 1.79 works best for me so who knows what I'm missing out on using the standard car version.
I don’t get it when people grumble about 5 of 6 pounds/euros/dollars for a mod like this - jeez, that wouldn’t even buy you one beer in most places nowadays 😳

Most sim racers love GT3 cars because they're relatively easy to drive, so they fit within their (fairly low) skill level. SimRacing604 (along with 99% of simracers) couldn't handle something like a Group C or Group 5 car, so they "don't like them".
It's not an exaggeration, VRC pulled out a Formula Alpha tier car mod in the 9T8. The ball is in RSS's turf with their 963
