  • “You and your so-called family have two weeks to move out of Florida forever or else you all die. this is no joke”
It’s April 1989. Sherry Guin is at a Murder Mystery weekend and is playing a dangerous mind game with a killer who poisoned an entire family. Everybody plays their role but Sherry needs to stay more alert than anyone else: her name isn’t Sherry and she needs to take down the host of the party: the prime suspect of the Carr family murder.

@@iitim2152 Do you have sources by any chance? I don't know the case other than from this video.
I've got a couple issues with this hypothesis. The first one is the torture room - he clearly was escalating towards more personal and more violent crimes where he can have direct control. The second one is that if he felt they are so inferior, him spending so much time working to poison them reduces his "value". I feel like he would have chosen a swift way if that was the case, something that straight up says "f you, peasant, you're nobody and I've got the power".

As a former lab assistant it's hard to explain but I'll try to give 1 reason. The magnitude of toxins that are fatal is almost endless. The exclusion or inclusion in a blood test would require sending the blood to a very specialized lab and would take a lot of money and time. Poisionings are rather rare so it would have to be suspected as the Dr. did in this case. @@jeffreyb8770

Obviously I'm not saying they deserved it. But they caused it. Because they were the nuisance of the neighborhood. No one could live in peace there. People should learn to respect others as well. Also, the boys were confrontational and threatening when they would ask them to stop with the noise. This video portraits then as quiet, innocent victims. No, they had a house of chaos, and of anyone said anything, they'd be told off and threatened to shut their mouth.

Okay, OR, let’s also consider, this happened waaay before health care existed for many less wealthy individuals. In my early 20’s, I used to have to pay out of pocket for my meds, and between that, and my prescribing doc visits, I was paying $400+ per month, because it was still cheaper than insurance, at that time.
For many people already on a tight budget, that money for the emergency room visit was going to have to come out of money that was already earmarked for a different non-negotiable cost of living, such as utilities bills, or rent/mortgage payment.
Not saying I can even speculate as to the state of their relationship, but plenty of people who did love each other still may not have been able to financially justify an emergency room bill.

Then left incriminating decisive evidence in his house after he moved out (the jeweler's screwdrivers and the bottles of chemicals with traces/residues of thallium). And later incriminated himself yet again by saying stuff that wasn't public knowledge that had matched what the case was about.
Plenty of "less smart" criminals are more careful than that. Guy was a psycho narcissist without the actual intelligence to back it up... What a delusional piece of shit that man was. I watched another documentary about this case. Apparently George's wife complained about the neighbor's noise so much he got sick of it. That's when he decided to poison them because they ignored the warning in the note they sent. There was some suspicion that his wife was involved, but they could never prove it. He refused to implicate her claiming he acted alone.
Also, the way the detective got him to confide in her was she pretended to be in awe of his genius. She played to his ego by flirting with him (his wife didn't even care) and telling him how impressed she was with his intellect. She would pose a lot of questions like "What would you do if...." as if seeking advice from him as one who admired him and appreciated him.
The other documentary said the reason the mom was significantly sicker than the kids and husband was that Coke was her favorite drink, so she'd had more of it than they did. The daughter, who didn't get sick, hated Coke and didn't drink any of it the night the rest of them had.

I remember watching "The Mensa killer" documentary. Poor family and brave copper for going undercover and risking her life to get the killer. The sicko put poison in their coke bottles. Peggy unfortunately, didn't make it. So glad they caught him.

I always find it interesting when people assert that it’s rare to unalive people with poison. Is it really all that rare or are they just rarely caught? From what we know about women serials, I definitely think that our documented data doesn’t match reality

    • @sarahissersohn5495
      @sarahissersohn5495 9 месяцев назад +6

That’s a really good point! And also, should intentionally overdosing someone on an illicit substance count as poisoning? Because if so, I would suggest that maybe women aren’t the majority of poisoners, after all. A dear friend of mine was killed this way, and it wasn’t the first time her then-fiancée had shot his partner up with a deadly overdose including fentanyl; it had happened once before. That we know of. As far as I know he’s not been brought up on charges yet, for lack of evidence. She was a really cool person; I hope he doesn’t get the chance to do the same thing again, in the future.

Rare maybe some say if they compare to other crimes in procent but still not that rare in reality I think there is a dark number out there world wide depending the poison and symptoms and if the doctors are high alert to that idea and knowledge and are able to run test even and here sudden a whole family comes in sick with similar symptoms together that are life threatening.
Maybe sometimes the obituary can spot a potential cause in some cases? So yes the data is only what has been found so far and with these big amount slipped through like cases of overdose with any substances and insulin cases. So rarely caught in that case i would assume compared to other murder crimes.
And about the women serials as well as in open rings, and a couple doing it either if they're in on it with the actual same like minded stamina together but one is more in charge tho both are high alert in on it, some are in as ingroomed or gaslighted half knowing or non knowing even. When murders no matter gender combine and work together sometimes.
I think serials even working together mainly each one during the act see themself as prior over the other in some way and raise their own part more than the partners ofc where it's baffled to hear when he is not even in a interigation room admits it's not like "they" kill just anyone..... so he ain't blaming someone else to get less sentence at that point but still admits right there he wasen't alone with it, probably she agreed with the kill of the dogs? And what else?
What happen to his wife? is there any good info about them as couple or interviews of them both to see here on yt?

      I agree.
If a person is game ended with a gun or a knife, it's undoutably a mordor case.
But with poisoning it often looks like a natural cause.
Also this is something a female ki11er would do (since they often lack the strenght), and people don't suspect a woman.
With one of my relatives, there was a case when a husband drank a shot from a vodka bottle in the fridge, which was filled with pure 100% vinegar. The man died.
The wife apparently filled the bottle and placed it in the fridge, knowing the drinking habit of his husband.
But it was impossible to prove malicious intent, so she was never trialed.
There are plenty of way to poison someone without getting caught.

Ballen sucks. He always waves his arms about like a lunatic. What's even worse, he always tells us what the victim or perpetrator is thinking and feeling. Wth??? He can't possibly know that. It's absurd he would know what a dead person is thinking or feeling as they are dying. Insulting to the victims!
I quit watching him. Good true crime channels present the case and leave it to viewers to imagine what others are thinking/feeling.
Good for the comments section also.

If only those were given out to people who actually deserve them.. it seems the true hero’s get either ignored or slandered every day. But I agree with you! It’s unfortunate that there aren’t more detectives that get as involved in their cases like she was. I know there are a lot of great ones throughout this country. That’s for sure. And a lot of them do become attached to their cases along with the families of the victims. I just wish it were more common.

You left out one of the most important pieces of the story . . . how did the laced soda pop get into their home? It was later discovered that the carrs did not lock their doors and the murderer occasionally slipped in while they were gone and put the laced soda pop in the corner. None of the Carr family asked where it came from ... they each thought that the other had purchased it,

The one thing this video didn't touch on was George's wife, Diane. Even though she was never charged, police firmly believed that she was behind it all. George was the shy, reserved, quiet one. Diane was the outgoing, talkative, socialite M.D. with her own private practice. She absolutely ran that house and wore the pants in their relationship. George even went out of his way to try to keep his wife from being implicated! She was the manipulative puppet master, and by all accounts, she despised her neighbors, the Carrs, even more than her husband did! I can't believe you don't mention any of this in your video!

So, as far as I can tell... he's still alive. Peggy's been dead for over thirty years, yet he gets to be in his seventies. He could die in prison through natural means. This is what I hate about the death penalty, it really does feel like most people who are on death row don't actually see their execution date and die through natural means. Years after the sentencing, for that matter.
(Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about him still being alive. The point about the death penalty still stands.)

He is still alive, writting unsuccessful appeals on his conviction. But life in prison is probably even worse than the death sentence. All good as long as he stays behind bars. He can be a brilliant piece of shit there 💩.

I thought he was executed..but hey, he is still behind bars, in a lot of this cases they let the criminals out and they go out and commit more crimes. He was building a torture chamber so even if he is still alive, the number of people who have been saved is unquantifiable
