Other more mature females, were entranced by his looks and his affable-appearing attention. I think this is partially due to the manner in which women in our society are conditioned. Thank God, that the woman on the TV show had the clarity to recognize his evil.

I blame the first judge. Even if the EIGHT YEAR OLD didn’t want to testify there’s an office who caught him in the act and a witness who saw him go into the house with the child. What more evidence do you need???? The justice system will faster give someone 100 years in prison for fraud than someone who violently attacks the most vulnerable, woman and children. It’s disgusting

I used to work n the Texas prions. At the time, they wouldn’t allow us to read inmates records because they thought it would create a harsh idea about those inmates we were working with. An inmate was assigned to work with me that had been convicted of murder in the 70’s. No one knew about serial killers then. But he acted friendly and helpful. Finally after serving 14 years on the murder conviction he came up for parole, and he asked me if I’d write a letter of recommendation to the parole board. I told the inmate that I’d never written a letter to the parole board and I’d have to get permission from my superintendent. He agreed, and I wrote a letter and submitted it to him for approval. After I sent the letter, the inmate came to me and asked about it. I told him I sent it. Then the inmate said there’s some other things you need to know. He then told me about other people he’d killed and tortured. It made me nauseous and angry. I screamed that he was a serial killer and he should never get out of prison. I also told him he just fucked me over and probably ruined my career. He just grinned at me. I immediately went up my chain of command and told my superintendent. I then drove to see the head of the parole board and told her what happened, that the guy was a serial killer and he should never get out of prison. I told her I wanted to withdraw my recommendation letter. They stopped his release and added the incident to his prison records. I also found an old magazine that had a horrifying article about his murders. None of the stuff had been in his prison records. The lesson here is that normal people have no idea when they encounter a psychopathic serial killer. They’re really good at conning people and they know how to look honest, caring, and helpful. But they feel nothing except really strong anger that entertains them. They’ve been faking emotions since childhood. That’s why as children, they often torture and kill trusting pets. Trust your sense of suspicion.

It doesn't pay to get involved in modern society where a burglar can sue a homeowner if he is injured while robbing the place.

Tali’s story… nothing short of a MIRACLE. So many things had to happen just perfectly or she would have been dead.
    1. The Good Samaritan’s gut instinct and being there right then to witness Rodney talking to her.
    2. Remember, making a call wasn’t as easy as it is with cell phones, yet he drove to a pay phone AND followed Alcala’s car.
    3. He calls this possible kidnapping in and the police ACTUALLY follow up on it instead of assuming it was someone over reacting.
    4. Then with the cop at Alcala’s door; it’s possible Rodney could’ve talked his way out of the cop even coming in (the little girl couldn’t scream) but he sensed something wrong and even though it was probably illegal, the cop kicked the door in and found her.
    5. Then the decision to stay with the girl that he presumed dead, and she ended up living.
Wow is all I can say. Follow your instincts; always! And it’s okay if you end up being wrong. Seriously, hats off to those men that day. ❤

@@Lizee1950 @ValuableWoman sympathizes more than you do, because she wants EVERY measure taken, including the victim's own common sense, while you're more OK with the victims not bothering to avoid being victims. And it's no surprise you won't see the difference. There's just something about being a victim that's too intriguing & enticing for you to pass up, as with many poor deluded souls today who see victimhood as an elite club, with automatic moral superiority and entitlement to more honors and attention than people who just AVOID bad situtations for obvious reasons.
So, what is it about avoiding trouble that seems so......unpalatable? Unimportant? Optional? I can't quite put my finger on it.....I'm just looking for a word to describe your hesitancey to push for smart decision making as much as you insist on the sympathy that comes after a tragedy that could have been avoided using.....oh.. I don't know.... maybe an ounce of descretion? Especially one where the victim goes back for more?
Help me out here: Why would you not be 100% FOR encouraging potential victims to help or look out for themselves first, and foremost?
@ValuableWoman obviously hates the offender every bit as much as you seem to, and most certainly more than the victim did.
Because, you see, when people REALLY TRULY want a problem to just GO AWAY, they want to cover the bases, so-to-speak. They start looking at EVERY element that led to the tragic incident. And when they spot the most potent one, the one that most obviously made ALL the difference for that particular victim - that's always the best place to start - they say "Hey! I know...why don't we use our HEADS on this one?? I mean, just for a change, you know? Because that goes straight to the heart of what would have prevented this from happening! AND it's the reason it hasn't happened to so many others, given there are raunchy people walking around society waiting for someone who doesn't use their head, because they're naturally scared of people who know good from evil."
Some of us just feel like damage control after-the-fact is " too-little-too-late". We wish more that it never happened, and only want to talk about prevention, so that it doesn't so needlessly happen again.
But for you, that seems to be the prize, or at least what we should focus on, and try to sort of "UN-CELIBRATE" over how unjust life and society and people are.
"LOOK AT THIS GREAT INJUSTICE" Yea! Let's only get involved in, and put all the effort into the pity-party of sympathizing AFTERWARD with the victims, and make THAT the central issue.
And if someone say's "Screw that, this could have been easily prevented" it's a major affront to the victimhood orgie.

How can you victim blame a child?? What kind of person are you? Also, this was before information was wide spread. To give context, the first kid on a milk carton hadn't even happened yet. You have captured how and why the acts of Alcala will be a permanent wound as you took us all into the depths of hell that these heartbroken families faced. On a personal note, I don’t know how any one of these parents, siblings or friends have been able to survive from the suffering that this bastard had insisted on tormenting them over and over and over again. My heart goes out to everyone who had and will suffer from this bastard as he has left many, many other girls and women into the darkness and may they there be light shined upon them soon.

It's a strange feeling. I encountered a serial grapist who tried to get me to follow him when I was waiting for my friends at the theater. I was 15 years old and he must've been like 30-something. I took my phone and called my friend and he walked away. And while I was talking to my friend, I saw him turn to look at me a few times. I knew something wasn't right with him when he was talking to me, his eyes were creepy, like his pupils seemed large and cold. His smiles didn't brighten his eyes.
Anyway, not long after that encounter, I saw an article linked on FB talking about a weirdo who hung aroung highschool and college, and who kept trying to pick up girls. And soon after there were a few reports of girls who had been SA'd. They found the guy and arrested him. And I recognized his photo in the news. I'm 29 now, and the feeling I felt when he talked to me has stuck with me. It's something you can never forget. Instinct is such a powerful thing.

I was almost abducted at 9 years old. This was 1967.....He was young, cute, and driving a red convertible GTO.....I'm 66 today and it's still like yesterday. My sister and I were just one block from the house. It was a very busy neighborhood. This guy pulled us over to ask us if we knew where ROSE STREET was. .. I was not familiar with that street. As soon as I said I didn't know, he grabbed me....I probably weighed 75 pounds. I was just tiny. On top of that, I had stitches on the bottom of my foot, because I had stepped on a broken coke bottle...My little sister was with me, but I think she was too young for him. Thank God he didn't take my sister....but while he was trying to throw me in his car, I started SCREAMING! He couldn't handle that noise, so he dropped me. All the people on the street ran out of their home. A few tried to find the car. It was RED....but no one found it. I was NEVER SCARED. I knew God sent Angels to protect me. To this day, it's just amazing I got away. But I was a spunky kid. I'm one of 11 children....so that's probably why I was spunky!!!!! I feel so bad these women went thru this horror!!!!!!!

I've lived on Huntington Beach almost my whole life and this case has always haunted me...Until this video I only knew the name and "The dating game " killer..but this video has shook me knowing how much damage this deranged evil "thing" I can't call it human...to understand the extent of his crimes so close to home. I guess part of me was too frightened to know all the truths ,being so close to home..😢My oldest sister was almost kidnapped at age 3 from a department store bathroom, where luckily my grandmother worked and knew the woman working that day at the front counter and my grandmother was friends with her, so she knew my sister , when she saw a strange woman trying to leave the store with her, she stopped in her tracks from leaving...I'm soo grateful for that woman or my sister might not be here today...I grew up with a very overprotective mother and father and didn't know what happened until I was older, but I'm glad I was so embedded to not talk to or trust strangers, my instincts for safety were with me from the day I was born....For this case, I'm so glad those families finally after so much injustice finally found some peace ❤

Still, today, women need to be taught to protect themselves and to feel their worth and to scream loudly when in the path of danger. I wonder if this first victim was afraid of her mother’s fragility or just afraid for her family finding out about what happened? Some women carry guilt and shame over other’s damaging behavior to them. Was she at a place where she knew that she shouldn’t be at her age? Did she feel that she would be blamed for the attack? She appeared to have little to no self-esteem. I hope that she’s received help & comfort and can teach others the dangers at our doorsteps.
