@@TheGuyWithSuperLongHairYeah it kinda sucks at the start, though it does get better as the game goes along. Though the accents are very good, even though they sound weird are very accurate to those cultures.
Reverse: 1999 has been a great joy to play. You can see a great care from the developers. What I think makes it stand out more is the how the developers listened to the global player base and have worked on fixing the translation issues of the game. The latest story appears to have no translation hiccups like the previous chapters. Its a big breath of fresh air seeing a developer actually listen to their global player base.
there is one translation error (minor spoilers) the part where sophia's on the beach with regulus and lilya and the narration says "sophia put her head on her forehead" other than that it's been fantastic
Honestly for me it’s a perfect main game. The game respects your time and attention: little daily grind, no PvP or ranking events, no pop ups, no ads, the cash shop is decent. I am new to PvE gacha games, but R99 seems special to me, as if players themselves decided to make a game instead of producing whatever evil monetization team demanded. The quality is amazing, there is enough depth to the account management, game is evolving constantly (CN server is ahead of global, so we get to peek into the future). Very F2P friendly. 10/10.
Oh I didn't know there is a time diff. Is it like PGR like 1 year behind or is it something of the likes 1 month ahead. I'm looking to add a new gacha to my list since I recently abandoned Genshin after 1 year of playing. (Currently I am playing HSR Nikke and PGR very recently)
My issue with most of the gachas that 'respect your time' is that there is no OPTION to have a long session of progression if you happen to have a day off. If you're that nice to your players I WANT TO STAY ONLINE DOING STUFF so there's no reason to put a hard cap on what I can do!
my fav. game of 2023. This is the game when you can feel the love from their maker. Despite the meager content at the beginning of the game (which increases substantially over the patches), I still played it everyday waiting eagerly for new contents to come.
As an Arknights player, I found myself nodding and saying just "like Arknights" a lot during this review. The sleek UI, the rarities, the general game structure, the character progression... It's all very similar. The main difference seems to be that AK puts more stock into its gameplay while R1999 is more story focused (with its story as a whole being a lot better presented). I've been looking for a casual gacha to play alongside AK for a while, and this might be it. It looks and sounds great, the story seems interesting and all I learned in AK about character progression stuff applies here too, it seems. I'll give it a shot!
Gameplay can be very hit or miss for some people. After 3 and a half years of AK I just can't stand it anymore, it bores to death but R99 is a breath of fresh air in that regard. There's enough strategy and depth to keep me interested without wasting too much of my time on retries, although tbf with how broken recent operators have been in AK there's almost no need to repeat most stages when half of your roster are instawin buttons
@@hua.. I know. I play AK with 5/4 stars and leave the broken ops for the maps I'm too dumb for with with just 5/4 stars (usually CC or the last EX-CM stages of an event). I never liked playing with broken stuff, I actively avoid doing it in every game I play. As for R1999, I just don't like turn based RPGs. I thought the story, presentation and ease-to-transition-from-AK would be enough to hook me, but it wasn't. It may someone else's cup of tea, but it wasn't mine at all.
Really? The examples in the video were pretty terrible imo. It's nice to have the accents, but the performances were not that great and the sound quality was awful.
It's pretty new globally and somewhat niche (?), so I suppose that's why you haven't heard it, frankly I haven't seen many out-there advertisements of it.
Thank you for your hard-working on this video!!! I’m a huge R1999 fan and I’m glad to see you show the details of the game!! Besides the game content, the EP and OST of R1999 are also done very well and I think it is definitely deserve to enjoy!!
Really happy you made a video on this! Having come back to this game just this week because of my bad luck when rerolling for a certain character on release, the timing couldn't be better! Playing through the story for the first time, I'm just amazed at how good the art, atmosphere, voice acting and story really are. Hope to maybe see more in the future.
6:08 Is correct, if you are talking about 1.0~1.2 As per 1.4 Is incorrect. I3Lv20 R10 is needed if a player want to obtain the maximum amount of free premium currency from the periodic game mode (Limbo). I2Lv50 R9~10 were the standard in the early version of the game (1.0~1.2), but it is no longer (4* rarities are still usable in those version). The standard is raised even much further (higher level, higher resonance) if player are not playing the meta characters. This also means that, investing to 4* and lower rarities will be a huge waste (As they can't progress beyond I2) And actually, player can brute force limbo with level and resonance as I did with 5* units (I3L50 R13~15). This is actually excessive investing (not recommended), and I'm not sure if it still works with 5* in the much later patch.
I never really found going like I30 60 excess investment, maybe coz I don't have a ton of character level but I have like 2 core team of 6 and few other ones i got them all like i3 60 at like R9 going for R10 soon. But i do see like lot of people stay like i3 30? just more curious where those extra resources even going to lol.
Wait, u actually need to max resonance? I've been doing it i3 lv30 r10 since forever. I always assumed i have skill issue when doing somnambulism (i full star all except the last floor)
@@mti4601Yeah, you need max, if you playing full party of 5* or some mixmatch with 4* rarities. Even then, as per 1.6, it is shit now when compared to Jiu. For example, Dikke ult at MAX (p4 i3l50r15), is only doing 40% the damage of Jiu (i3L40r12) normal's incantation. Sure, one only need i3l20r10 if using 6*. But it's getting harder and harder that upping them more is reasonable, and not skill issue, this is especially true when compared to 1.2. where I can still clear with 5* and feel the challenge was fair, and enemy HP is not bloated. This game combat lacks depth, when you have a hard time, usually is not the case of skill issue. Test it yourself, raise the party level by 10~15, and you see the difference, from hard stage -> so-so stage. What matters now is if you are using the newest 6* unit or not. So, yeah, you know why I'm angry at this game, All my 5* and 4* and 3* are reduced to garbage by the dev. They are noobtrap by this point, and should have not exist in the first place if all they do is punish players that love and invest them.
@@DisIngRaMdamm that is really interesting and sad thing to have for gacha game, i gonna hope limbus not going to that path, having exponentially more powerful ssr is one thing but having lower rarity completely useless is such a bad design
its funny that i come from Reverse 1999 to Nikke, and you covers this game right now,.. i love Reverse 1999 and i played it alongside with nikke.. both are chill games..
The lore has gradually improved in quality over the year since this game came out. Really I would say the lore is one of the best if you dig deep enough(sidelines, personal info, etc)
One thing I really liked about the lore is that it connects and references a lot to real life. This game made me learn more about the history and culture of other countries lol.
I came here with almost no expectations as most reviewers of RE:1999 just show the 1.4 preview and just pretend to be hyped. Your review however even explained how the game works. My experience so far while playing since launch is that between updates like all other gacha games, it becomes stale and you just continue to farm resources. Atleast there is no "weapon" banner and no rng from "artifacts". So over time you'll max out your whole team.
I'd like to make some additional notes (+ yuri rant) as it has been a few patches and I myself am a new player. As of writing the game is at patch 1.9 and I've been playing as F2P for 1 and and a half month or so. True Limited Characters: R1999 now has true limited units which aren't added to the standard roster. They have their own special banner which doesnt share pull history with typical rate up banner. This means that pity on them doesnt carry over but you do get a guaranteed copy on 200 pulls which is seperate from pity count (i.e. if you get one copy on the 199th pull, you'll still get a guarantee copy on the next pull). This special banners will run for the whole patch instead of the usual half patch. Limited characters are rare and seem to be added on special occations like Lunar New Year and the Anniversary. Limited Event Story Chapters: This event stages are similiar to normal main story chapters only that it's not permanent and will end after one patch. I'm assuming this one isn't mentioned in the video since 1.4's event is a continuation of the main story and therefore permanent. The event chapters tend to be side stories that expand on the worldbuilding and would feature a whole new cast of characters (+ Matilda sometimes). They do occasionaly rerun alongside that patch's event and there are rumors of Bluepoch adding some of the early events permanently. Rougelite Mode: There's a new permanent rougelite that's surprisingly pretty fun. All characters are automatically leveled up to max, similiar to HSR's Divergent Universe so no need to build 'em for this gamemode. Though, it does seem a bit shallow rn and I'm expecting them to add more stuff in the future. Overall, really great place to try out characters I haven't built yet (ehm A Knight ehm). Story: Pretty good, definitely ups the antè on recent chapters though that doesn't mean earlier chapter aren't solid on their own right. Gacha: Bluepoch is surprisingly generous with giving out gacha currency. As of now, I already have 5 six stars, including 2 copies of the recent limited (see prev). It's quite feasible as an f2p to pull on both characters featured on the patch. I've already gotten Lucy and Kakania on their debut banner while losing 50/50 on Tooth Fairy rerun, though I am getting close to soft pity again. YURI RANT TIME! Are you still starving of Yuri content from your gacha games? Does HI3 no longer satiate your ever growing hunger for more? Then this game is for you! Subtext? What subtext? In r1999, there's only TEXT!!! Watch as a girl pines for another girl, who is pining for another girl, who is pining for another girl (but this one's dead!), creating what I can only describe as a Love Square. If you don't think thats enough, you ravenous beast, there's still plenty of other Yuris around. There are some on the event stories, and even one that's on the main story (Isolde and Kakania I swear if you both don't marry). There's even Yuri on a character's splash art (Tennant). Nothing can escape the Yuri in Reverse 1999.
I really like this game. The music is incredibly good, the story is unique and I love the gameplay. I really love the character too. Also the voice acting is top notch. The gacha is pretty forgiving. I have been able to get who I want and I haven't spent a dime.
This is the best Gacha game i ever play. The game are so generous about resources and RNG that it feel like it really want you to have fun. There is no FOMO either. Any past event will be replayable in a couple of patches later. Song in this game won gaming music award back in 2023 too. Real criticism is that there is no PvP. So there is not much reason to build your team very much. But that’s can be good too since you can enjoy pve content anytime and however you like
Wouldnt PVP be pay to win tho... like every other gacha game with pvp It also makes it unenjoyable to grind solely for Arena like in CRK and AFK Journey
I’ve been playing this game for bits and pieces at a time, I played it, deleted it when I finished the story and redownloaded it because I missed Voyager. To my surprise there was more story and even though I’m close to finishing it I love it regardless. It’s very fun and very free to play imo. I got a few 6 stars and was using Lilya as my main dps but it’s changed. Now Centurion is my main dps and I actually just got another six star who’s my main support. I find this game super fun and relaxing
I thought so too, until I started going through the story boss in Chapter 5 on hardcore) Gradually the difficulty of the main content increases, but they make the transition smooth and soft enough so that many have time to level up their characters. In fact, although there are many characters in the game, there are only enough resources for leveling up; To create your personal meta, you need time and wisely choose who to level up and who not, so you have to command selectively even in the sense that I have more than 9 - 6 star characters that I cannot fully level up but only 4 of they will be my main striking force. For me, hardcore content is a challenge, that's why I completed UTTU, and I completed all the chapters on HC. So I closed everything in limbo) because of this I get complete pleasure from the game) And I also played more than +800 hours in this game)
@@UltimateGenosyko any game that forces you to get good characters and do dailes so you can beat the hardest levels and actually make progress, PGR is a very good example
Regulus has the best VA and personality. Reverse 1999's story and gameplay is quite unique. I highly recommend it for super casuals because the characters requires a lot of resources to level up. Thankfully there's no bs rng for artifacts the only rng is only for the gacha system which in my opinion is really friendly. I can't count how many back to back and double 6 stars I've gotten. TLDR just try it
I think a free to play friendly game is not one that gives a lot of rare units, but one that can be completed (except for optional bosses) with frequently occurring units that are cheap to level up. For example, Arknights can be completed with 4* units. I don’t know about Nikke.
The music alone made this my favorite mobile game and im proud to say ive been playing since release. Sometimes when its raining on the way to work ill just listen to opening menu theme
I love the story, lore, visuals are outstanding, music is very beautiful and atmospheric. And the characters are a delight to look at and to know about their stories
I got 3 6star characters back to back when I first started playing, ever since I have been locked into playing the game cuz I feel like I have to hahaha
Adding onto the positive aspects of the game, as someone who has an old pc that struggles w lag in most games, r99 is a great option :3 even with the high graphics it still runs pretty smoothly, it has only ever lagged or overheated slightly w ONE cutscene and ONE bossfight (specifically the one at the end of ch5) But I think this game is not only f2p friendly but low resource friendly in general, so I'd recommend it to anyone who knows how to read ;3
I started playing it on day 1, and while it has really good art and the characters are interesting. It couldn't really hold my interest as the daily grind was pretty boring and the time between banners I felt was too long. I found myself constantly checking how long the banner had left on it instead of actually playing. What was funny is that the story makes no sense. People were hyping the story of the game, but its so difficult to follow and the villains are so superficial is a wonder why they are even put in that role. Not a game for me, but I know people that really enjoy it to this day.
I ain't lying the game is good, the VA and the Art Design is definitely TOP TIER. the problem for me is the gameplay. it's sh1t gameplay and I don't like matching bullcrap. I love turnbased games specially HSR but not this kind of turned base..
What specifically about the turn based part kills it for you though Cuz saying HSR has the best turn based gameplay when its one of the simplest (compared to other games in the genre) is... an opinion Is it just the matching? Cuz that part isnt required. You actually benefit more by not dragging cards to fuse. Using two 1star cards is more efficient than one 2star card You have to strategize so that you can manage your moxie. Plus, some new bosses have specific mechanics that require special strategies. I actually enjoy this gane more *no hate btw, i get your opinion
@@nightowlowo149yeah and he said "he liked HSR specially", never wait that is was the best. So he stated his opinion. Now maybe to add to that maybe because the card system does add an element of randomness to the battles. To be fair both are gacha games and both have simple systems but can be deeper if one decides to explore the intricacies of team composition. I'm a veteran jrpg player and this card turn base system personally was not very fun with a set amount of cards to predetermine actions, there's no proper turn management like speed where enemies can take your place or cancel your turn forcing you to rethink on the fly for instance. I rather determine actions per character. You mentioned Persona that's a good standard. One of the very best turn based jrpg would be FFX, I would add Shin Megami tensei Nocturne. Of course personal preference. I wouldn't call this system shit though. I
@sobbleedits4363 and compete with Genshin???? You know what happened to WuWa even if its doing great now Thrashed to hell over the simplest things simply because it's a competitor. But tbf a lot of thw issues were the games fault. But the toxic fandom man, it gets hate for just existing 💀
It seems to me this sort of game requires a high level of mastery and resources even more than a AAA 3D game. I cant even begin to imagine how such a complex game is being built.
I tried Reverse 1999 recently and I think it is a really well made game, it has a very beautiful art, great voice acting, good story. The main problem with the game is that it is way too quirky. The character design is a huge hit or a huge miss, there is nothing in between. The gameplay is also meh because it's rng card based, it felt like you really had no control in the combat because its random what you are getting.
Down to earth answer, the best voice acting in a gacha game across all languages and the art is so gorgeously recognizable. Gooner answer, English waifus are a seasoned palate of a taste.
I'm a huge stickler for stories in my games and Reverse just couldn't keep me in that regard. Maybe it was just me but nothing made sense. Everybody spoke in riddles, and not in a good way. Things just happened with little to no build up/explanation. I do think the localization is part of the problem in that regard. It was a fun game, but I'm not the type who can skip story for gameplay. And the gameplay isn't that fun for me to completely ignore the story.
I was gonna say, its weird you made a review of this game on your Nikke channel, but I remembered, your Nikke channel does better than your Genshin lol Pseychie_R99 in the future?
A great review! Its rare to see such a deep analysis of a gacha game but its interesting regardless. I've been playing the game more or less since launch and only found it through some random videos, its been a fun time though the game had some problems spacing out the content in the earlier patches i'm really happy with the detail the characters and world not to mention the amazing music that i added to my music playlist on youtube(The Gleaming is SO good!). I hope u do a follow up video in the future couse they are really ramping up the content especially with the new roguelike game mode.
Personally the reason why I wanted to play reverse 1999 is because the gameplay feels very very similar to one of my most loved/hated game Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross. After playing since it’s released it was just like grand cross but a bit better and more enjoyable.
Been playing since release. Good game with lots of QoL features. Doesn't take much time at all to go through your dailies. Literally 5 min and you're done.
Yeah, at first I recommend this game, but after playing for a few months I'm not recommending this game any more, because eventually you'll reach the point where in order to push through level caps you need to craft material for a material for a material for a material, A never ending Russian nesting doll of griding materials for materials
The game is good. It respects my time, and it also respects its characters. 0 fanservice, no sexualized pubescent characters, and cool character designs with an interesting story to boot. The gameplay is fun too.
Started playing yesterday on the official pc port when i heard its the first anniversary, 1 free 6* and 1 free 5*, pulled in the robot girl banner with the free 10 pull, 2 5*, pulled in the beginner banner, 3 5* and 2 6*, nice artstyle cute characters nice story i already have a nice team so yeah, im in bro
the 20 min rule is truly painful in this game I have been playing since day 1 and after i finished the story it kinda fell off there was no new content or no lore about some of the characters they just appeared as 6 stars and that's it. However i think this game's dedication is truly marvelous and beautiful the main story is really good and like you said the OST is an absolute banger. I do want this game to become popular too but they really need to respect the 20 min rule
no new content? The game is in constant rotation of events, banners, and challenging content. Half of the farming including event shop currency and other mats can be done in 10 minutes even if you let your stamina reach max capacity (and the game regularly gives stamina refreshes between patches for players to get mats quickly). Idk if you utilized autoplay when you spent time with the game or you just completely ignored it but if you're spending more than 10 minutes every 12 hours with this game there is an issue and it ain't with the game.
saying theres no new content or lore would be dishonest. Theres new events every single month so far and each character comes with their own lore as well. Not to mention Artificial Somnambulism, UTTU, and newly added raids and the soon to be added Rougue like mode.
Love the game and it's Aesthetics. I haven't skipped a day as much as possible thats how much I love it! Granted I'm a gacha but, but the characters, world and story is just absolutely divine!
I like the game Im a sucker for JRPG style, but no ability to farm character shards/duplicate for Portrait is brutal. I spend, but between the Portrait aspect and the upcoming extreme powercreep the game is not friendly at all. Maybe Im just sloppy with resources.
The only two nitpicks I have with this game is: 1: Resonate items/resources are a pain to grind for. 2: You should not be able to obtain 5-6 star characters after you get 5 doups of them. (I have gotten Sweetheart to her maximum portrait and I still get doups of her)
The problem is that with this video, resonance and resources are problems you won’t run into within your first month of the game. It looks very generous at a first glance because you get 30 cacophonies from the limbo shop for raising units, but then you sink your teeth by mid game is where your progress will reach a bottleneck. It’s especially a problem if you just spent cacophonies left and right and need to wait for the monthly reset or buy the battle pass. Personally speaking, I’ve been F2P since launch and very late game this becomes much less of an issue because my roster is just very well invested now and I have a ton of spare materials I can use to wait for units I like.
So I play reverse in 1999 and in my opinion, it’s pretty good yeah it’s something I don’t like about the game as example when you use your alt in that game sometimes they used to Chibi style while some don’t for some strange reason don’t know why it isn’t really consistent but updates wise. It’s pretty easy if we had to talk about the community I don’t know. I will say this is really hard at least my case to find reverse 1999 content build guides so if you guys know any RUclipsr who do those types of stuff feel free to let me know but highly suggest playing the game it’s nice It’s simple The storyline is interesting and the character designs is great plus when you level up the character to give you a free skin so that’s cool!
I feel reverse 1999 falls into the same gacha territory as Limbus Company and Path to Nowhere. Good games that I want to enjoy that respects my time, but can never bring myself to play.
The game is gorgeous, good story, sound and visuals are some of the best I've seen from gacha games and the playability is nice too, but for some reason, after playing it everyday for 2 weeks, I got so bored of it that I just quit..
I started the game thinking it'll just be another gacha game I'll play for a bit then drop when it gets boring. But no, I started on IOS, then made a separate account on PC. The game it really good. Love how the daily grind respects out time. Not a lot of rng bs, and the turn base aspect is really fun.
R99's best qualities is it's relatively welcoming design for new and F2P players and its variety in the content new patches bring. You can easily beat 95% of the content with the free characters and they give you access to some of the best items through the free currency store. However, the core of the gameplay with the skill "cards" is rather repetitive and runs can be quickly axed by some bad RNG. I still play it everyday, but there's definitely better gachas out there.
I played weeks after launch just to get Regulus (and Vertin, haha coz silly me thought she was playable). Really enjoyed the game and the story. I quit just because I don't really enjoy turn based as much, but damn, if you do? Play this game. Story is great, it made me feel things. Dubbing is very nice, too. (good to hear some familiar voices in the EN dub of WuWa, too lol)
hey pseychie, long time fan of your content. I was wondering... when you record, do you ever have issues with mouth clicks? how do you get your audio set up ?
Sort of funny you do this on your NIKKE channel as it seems opposite in many ways, though it's a rare case of someone sticking with a FotM gacha past its week of fame. Can't say it hooks me, but I respect the path they're going and I hope they won't compromise it.
Bro... It surprises me how cool it is. The dub, the story, theme, the story. Is really good. I just love how you don't have be that serious, because this game focuses on its story, but the old man that you have to click to listen to him is... Something. I can't fully comprehend what he wants to imply. I would really like for someone to make it easier to perceives.
this is the best gacha game i’ve downloaded in my life so far. and that is saying a lot coz i’ve played hundreds of different gacha game and this game is challenging yet rewarding.
idk, i liked that game on release, but at 1.4 i kinda got pissed that we got ANOTHER side story and i quitted. i am not saying i haven't enjoyed them so far, but i wanted ch.5 and 6 at that point. plus, i saw r1999 as secondary thing to do, while the main one has always been limbus (they do have something in common).
Understandable but they already announced schedule on how they release versions. It's usually 1 main story version and then 1-3 event stories. So 1.4 is main, 1.5 and 1.6 are events, 1.7 is main, 1.8 is event and 1.9 is conclusion of main event for now. Hope this helps

As for R1999, I just don't like turn based RPGs. I thought the story, presentation and ease-to-transition-from-AK would be enough to hook me, but it wasn't. It may someone else's cup of tea, but it wasn't mine at all.
Arknights and Reverse:1999 are the top two gacha games for me as well. Both have stellar stories, great aesthetics, and enjoyable gameplay
Hands down the best english voice acted gacha of all time. Too bad I can't keep playing it because I have nikke and hsr already
same
Really? The examples in the video were pretty terrible imo. It's nice to have the accents, but the performances were not that great and the sound quality was awful.
only bad thing is their mic quality
AK and R1999 are pioneering the someone very decent EN vas at least nowadays. Hopefully more gachas do the same.
@@dahSweep eh thats your opinion kaibigan
Aesthetically it is almost (and sometimes is!) - jaw dropping. I hope this game succeed.

The art and music is so good and the plot seems interesting. How have I never heard of this game...
When that happened, That coincides with the news of DMC mobile
It's pretty new globally and somewhat niche (?), so I suppose that's why you haven't heard it, frankly I haven't seen many out-there advertisements of it.
Tldr: Reverse 1999 is that new Gacha game that's not really generic and in-fact unique in the market. 5/5!!!

Is correct, if you are talking about 1.0~1.2
As per 1.4 Is incorrect.
This also means that, investing to 4* and lower rarities will be a huge waste (As they can't progress beyond I2)
And actually, player can brute force limbo with level and resonance as I did with 5* units (I3L50 R13~15).
@@mti4601 anything past 10 is honestly a complete waste unless you just want to super min max for no reason.
So, yeah, you know why I'm angry at this game,
All my 5* and 4* and 3* are reduced to garbage by the dev.
You're one of the best gacha game reviewers I know. Soft, smooth voice, subtle jokes, I love the vibe of your videos. Keep it up man
I've been playing since the game's release and you covered pretty much everything I love about this game.
its funny that i come from Reverse 1999 to Nikke, and you covers this game right now,..
i love Reverse 1999 and i played it alongside with nikke.. both are chill games..
True.. That's also 2 gacha games I enjoyed the most.
But that’s can be good too since you can enjoy pve content anytime and however you like
Wouldnt PVP be pay to win tho... like every other gacha game with pvp
It also makes it unenjoyable to grind solely for Arena like in CRK and AFK Journey
Reverse is my favorite gacha at the moment!
Will never see an orange the same way I did after playing this game
WAIT WHAT
@@IkkiRomanceits a really tragic lore thing
I’ve been playing this game for bits and pieces at a time, I played it, deleted it when I finished the story and redownloaded it because I missed Voyager. To my surprise there was more story and even though I’m close to finishing it I love it regardless. It’s very fun and very free to play imo. I got a few 6 stars and was using Lilya as my main dps but it’s changed. Now Centurion is my main dps and I actually just got another six star who’s my main support. I find this game super fun and relaxing
i just wish there was more interesting things in end game :( love the story and visuals as well as the god tier voice acting
i feel like its a weird thing to love, but i absolutely love this game’s UI, it just feels v unique and satisfying
This is definitely a casual game, I dropped serious play because I realized that this game really shines on the story.
At this point what game isn’t a “casual game”.
Or be completed with free/starter units. Some games free/starter units are straight up horrible.
The music alone made this my favorite mobile game and im proud to say ive been playing since release. Sometimes when its raining on the way to work ill just listen to opening menu theme
Wow, probably the best review that I have seen of the game so far.
I love the story, lore, visuals are outstanding, music is very beautiful and atmospheric. And the characters are a delight to look at and to know about their stories
Im a dead cells player that also has r1999. I got surprised when i realised you were the same guy i watch dead cells content
I would pay to play this game because Bluepoch created a dedicated launcher for Reverse: 1999 and it loads everything so extremely quick.
This is the best game review I've ever watched. Period. No fluff and covers every aspect of playability in short 20 mins
Not a game for me, but I know people that really enjoy it to this day.
seconded
yea..i love the art/music but i cant get into it
Reverse 1999 is everything i wanted from an anime English dub, love that every character has unique voice with their cultural accent
no please, don't tell me it's good, i don't want to fall for another gacha 😭
Just got the game 2 days ago! I enjoy it a bunch and the stories are TOO EPIC and the game design is 👌🤩. Plus the diversty of characters is GODLIKE
Ive been in love for reverse 1999 because of its story and ofc, doomed yuri. I like the characters so much especially Pavia (literally my bf)
11/10 yeah sure it's repetitive, but it's always fun playing every single event!
I ain't lying the game is good, the VA and the Art Design is definitely TOP TIER. the problem for me is the gameplay. it's sh1t gameplay and I don't like matching bullcrap. I love turnbased games specially HSR but not this kind of turned base..
yeah it’s too complicated for me
What specifically about the turn based part kills it for you though
Cuz saying HSR has the best turn based gameplay when its one of the simplest (compared to other games in the genre) is... an opinion
Is it just the matching? Cuz that part isnt required. You actually benefit more by not dragging cards to fuse. Using two 1star cards is more efficient than one 2star card
You have to strategize so that you can manage your moxie. Plus, some new bosses have specific mechanics that require special strategies. I actually enjoy this gane more
*no hate btw, i get your opinion
Also what other turn based games do you enjoy?
Fire Emblem?
Yakuza 7?
Persona?
You know what happened to WuWa even if its doing great now
Thrashed to hell over the simplest things simply because it's a competitor.
Gooner answer, English waifus are a seasoned palate of a taste.
youve convinced me to download it and try it out. hope i enjoy it!
Any update?
Don't play this game if you're a serial SKIPPER. You'll miss out on 80% off the good stuff
I was gonna say, its weird you made a review of this game on your Nikke channel, but I remembered, your Nikke channel does better than your Genshin lol

R99 is a pure blast to play! Lore is great, updates are getting better and better.
So, when is Pseychie_1999 comming?
Personally the reason why I wanted to play reverse 1999 is because the gameplay feels very very similar to one of my most loved/hated game Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross. After playing since it’s released it was just like grand cross but a bit better and more enjoyable.
Been playing since release. Good game with lots of QoL features. Doesn't take much time at all to go through your dailies. Literally 5 min and you're done.
Yeah, at first I recommend this game, but after playing for a few months I'm not recommending this game any more, because eventually you'll reach the point where in order to push through level caps you need to craft material for a material for a material for a material,
A never ending Russian nesting doll of griding materials for materials
And if you know some little details in a game, guaranteed 99% u will love this game si much.

The game is good. It respects my time, and it also respects its characters. 0 fanservice, no sexualized pubescent characters, and cool character designs with an interesting story to boot. The gameplay is fun too.
*any seemingly secualpized characters like Lucy and Bunny Bunny are intentional design with respect for culture/ has story significance
i tried Limbus company, Brown dust II and Path to Nowhere after watching your reviews, all were good, gonna try Reverse 1999 too
Started playing yesterday on the official pc port when i heard its the first anniversary, 1 free 6* and 1 free 5*, pulled in the robot girl banner with the free 10 pull, 2 5*, pulled in the beginner banner, 3 5* and 2 6*, nice artstyle cute characters nice story i already have a nice team so yeah, im in bro
the 20 min rule is truly painful in this game I have been playing since day 1 and after i finished the story it kinda fell off there was no new content or no lore about some of the characters they just appeared as 6 stars and that's it.
The only two nitpicks I have with this game is:
1: Resonate items/resources are a pain to grind for.
5 months later and im still playing
Out of curiosity, how was Esttel La Evesca? I loved it with Isolte and the rerun of Jessica and Green lake.
Only started a week ago, in part because of this video, having a blast!
i added you as a friend guy. we're in the same guild alliance for nikke too. :)
Started playing a couple weeks. I have been fully consumed by the briefcase
The most unique Exquisite gacha ever from last year . This game is a true artistic masterpiece!! Pure fire 🔥🔥🔥
i find it funny how he released this 22hours ago and yet chapter 5 and 6 released on the 26 and hes on chapter 4 ending
this and limbus is i prefer not jp voice. i know limbus doesnt has jp voice but event in the future they will add, i will still using kr voice.
I feel reverse 1999 falls into the same gacha territory as Limbus Company and Path to Nowhere. Good games that I want to enjoy that respects my time, but can never bring myself to play.
I love blue women and I still couldn’t get voyager
The game is gorgeous, good story, sound and visuals are some of the best I've seen from gacha games and the playability is nice too, but for some reason, after playing it everyday for 2 weeks, I got so bored of it that I just quit..
Lucky me - got the 2-Star-Radio on my first Pull xD
I started the game thinking it'll just be another gacha game I'll play for a bit then drop when it gets boring. But no, I started on IOS, then made a separate account on PC. The game it really good. Love how the daily grind respects out time. Not a lot of rng bs, and the turn base aspect is really fun.
God, if only they don't put a time limit on the energy item, this would've been great
R99's best qualities is it's relatively welcoming design for new and F2P players and its variety in the content new patches bring.
I really like the look and premise of this game. Downloading it today, hope I'm not too late to the party.
"I can milk you." I saw that! Ayoo?!!?!?!
this is the best gacha game i’ve downloaded in my life so far. and that is saying a lot coz i’ve played hundreds of different gacha game and this game is challenging yet rewarding.
idk, i liked that game on release, but at 1.4 i kinda got pissed that we got ANOTHER side story and i quitted. i am not saying i haven't enjoyed them so far, but i wanted ch.5 and 6 at that point. plus, i saw r1999 as secondary thing to do, while the main one has always been limbus (they do have something in common).
Understandable but they already announced schedule on how they release versions. It's usually 1 main story version and then 1-3 event stories. So 1.4 is main, 1.5 and 1.6 are events, 1.7 is main, 1.8 is event and 1.9 is conclusion of main event for now. Hope this helps
finally a game that uses a bit of 7ds grand cross type of gameplay
I think it's good but I cant play more than 2 gachas at a time. And I committed to HSR and Wuwa for now.
You forgot to talk about UTTU
Nice review I would still be playing in if I didnt plays so many gachas 😅😅
So Josh Strife Hayes but for gacha games? yes please.
started playing again cuz this vid reminded me of how much i enjoyed the game!
One of the best gacha ever played for those who dont want spend necessary amount of time a day for stuff
