I’ve been playing the game since it released on Global and I’m so glad I picked it up!! The story made me bawl my eyes out 5 times, the characters are so beautiful and diverse, and the gameplay is just so fun!! Can’t wait to see what the devs have in store for us!!
I started to play during windsong banner. I was scared to pull for her and lose Lucy. But this game is a mother! I not only got Lucy, but also got Kakania, Tooth Fairy, 6 and Regulus 😊

I recently got back into R99 eversince I left during Toothfairy's banner back in 1.2. I was juggling with too many gachas and work and I just couldn't keep up. I've seen the ads for their anniversary but the main reason I came back was because I was feeling nostalgic and I found myself reminiscing about the beautiful art in R99. That's what ultimately made me reinstall the game. Anyway, I was looking everywhere for recent 'returning-player' guides and I couldn't find anything that was up to date with the 1.9 patch. Maybe I wasn't searching hard enough, so I appreciate anyone sharing links or any info on this in the replies. Imagine how happy I was to find out that you uploaded a video with the exact content I was looking for! I used to watch a lot of your videos back when I still played R99. It felt like I was catching up with an old friend. I just wanted to say thank you for the guide and I wish you get even more views and the algorithm pushes up more of your videos because you deserve it! 😄 P/s I'm currently still fighting with RNGesus to get Lucy, so Bluepoch I beg of you I just need ONE singular copy of her. 11:01 You don't understand how happy I am to see Melania in any of the more recent guides. She carried me ever since i got her (day one player here) and can get red SSS easily, unless if the mechanics are heavily against her.

Can I ask for some advice here in the comments section? As we’re approaching the end of the patch, I haven’t used my “Friendship in Suitcase” item yet to redeem a 6-star and it’s mostly because I wanted to wait and see what I got on my banner draws during this update. Long story short, I was able to get Lucy, but I don’t have Getian and I know he’s one that I can redeem with the item. However, here’s what has me conflicted… My Star damage is absolutely dog water. My best star DPS is Regulus and while I love her character, she’s just not really getting it done as my Star DPS. The only other Star 6-stars that I have are Voyager (support/sub-DPS) and Tooth Fairy (healer). So I’m super conflicted. I can either go for Getian so that I can build one of Lucy’s best teams (Getian-6-Tooth Fairy) or I can go for a dramatic improvement in my Star damage by going for 37 (which would be a pretty massive step up from Regulus). Anyone have any thoughts?
Go for Getian, currently 37's damage is no match to any of the META DPS. and that INCLUDE Lucy. In fact once you ramp up Lucy, she will out damage 37 by a mile. Maybe in the future 37 will become good with the new Limitbreak, but that's far in the future, as those will come in waves.

This is a great guide, especially for me, who played the game on release but got kinda bored and have come back now. My only remaining question is what is the best source for dust and sharpodonties? Getting my characters up to snuff has consumed all of my currency lol.
The stages that give dust and sharpodonties are the best, besides the event shops, UTTU rewards, wilderness, battlepass, week missions, daily missions, etc I have almost 6 million dust and 5 million sharpodonties basically doing the stages that give these resources and wilderness
Resonance 10 stat wise is a better investment than Insight 3, try to get 9-10 on your strongest characters. Don't get 10 if you know the character you're using is going to be benched fast tho
I was really blindsided by Limbo needing two full teams. Lucy, Kakania, Tooth Fairy, Bkornblume/An-an Lee are what I run but I have no DPS for a second team. The only other 6-star I have are Regulus, Semelweiss and Ezra.

If i were to say, packs that specifically give you ONLY pulls and currency as the best. Additionally, double drop are ok value as well... I've not done a lot of calcs on this BUT i know for a fact the 30 dollar pulling pack that refresh each month is great. so is the 30 dollar selection pack for this patch that gvie you 10 pulls, and 1 standard 6 star of your choice. And currently neither uttu skin nore anecdote psychubes had reruns yet.
Imo best thing to buy is the monthly ticket. Apart from the yellow clear drops, you do get some pink clear drops to accumulate for skins and usually skins are paid in pink clear drops (the "paid" currency) in the game. Usually i'd check the cn version for skins in the later versions and buy some monthly tickets before if there is a skin i like. Battlepass are nice, i did buy some bps before in r1999, they give quite a lot of resources for upgrading characters and psychubes but later on to endgame those resources arent that worth (still a lot of resources if you do buy the battlepass) because you can definitely get those resources from a lot of activities or slowly spending energy daily in the game. Currently, I dont think there is anyway to get an old costume in UTTU. Same goes for 5* psuchubes. If you want them for the sake of building characters, I think 6* psuchubes are better because i hardly ever cared about 5* psychubes when building. And they release 6* psychubes permanently in the shop so no need to worry about missing a 6* psychube. But if you care about collecting, welp... might have to wait if they decide to rerun those anecdotes or give players a way to obtain those.
Story have a tons of first time currency. Pretty much every permenant mode have some pull currencies in it. Daily/weekly is quite a bit. There is also limbo, refresh each 2 week, a lot of pull in there.
As someone who just joined back and got that limited char robot lady to i3, i still dont understand anything😅 all i understood was DPS is king, semmelweiss is best support, and funni robot lady obliterates all game modes in the game
In my experience, you can play with any character regardless of their rating as long as you complement them with a 6star to complete a team. For example, if there is a 3/4/5 stars character you like but is not strong enough, just pair them with a 6 star complement, this way you can a play with a 3/4 star dps if you have a 6 star support/healer, or a 3/4 star support or healer if you have a 6star carry dps. There are also some 6star character that make almost any team viable to some degree, for me and my playstyle 6 and Kakania allow you play almost any 3star or up character without too much problem.
I'll probably skip all the upcoming banners. I got Lucy and Kakania from 1.9 and I'll wait for Anjo Nala now. I do like Mercuria, but her team is expensive (Marcus-, Argus-,). Is Tuesday good for poison team? Or is poison team not in meta right now?
If she's not with Marcus/Lucy/Windsong who can help stacking her "cosmic energy", her performance is mid/ok without her portrait. She mostly only shines in the incantation rank up team at P0/P1.
@@bellcranel5418 first u need to up ur Lucy to Insight 3 to unlock that ability. Remember u only can trigger 2 extra action after kill an enemy in 1 round.
Survival come first you can't play if you all dead can you?... Dps always come and go but support is everlasting they the backbone yenisei with crit build can crit her heal just like TF and she good protector... while balloon party have the disadvantage when it come to heal because her heal come in HP loss and you need calculate enemy dmg rate if they can survive in low balloon will come clutch but if they don't yenisei better... The other good healers will be med pocket they good as healer but they afflatus sometimes make it hard to survive....

Yes, If you are having trouble with stages, it's likely your resonance is not raised. they are a HUGE chunk of stats.

Funnily enough, patch 2.0's scam banner might actually be worth it for beginners since it has 6 and Isolde

Marcuria can still function with Lucy and Windsong but for most part her performance won't be stellar at low portrait.
She is situationally ok at p0, unless you are in desperate need of a support, better to save for anjo nala

Story have a tons of first time currency.
Pretty much every permenant mode have some pull currencies in it.
Daily/weekly is quite a bit.

So 5 stars are actually useful in this game? I'm so used to lower rarity units being fodders in gacha game now
They are not unreplacable by any means, but they are definately worth raising and are very much "good enough"

For 3 member party, better change 1 to healer. For 4 member party u can used them together + 1 healer.
