When I first listened to Thay's answer to this question in PV I to thought he evaded the question by talking in generalities. However listening to it again I can see what he was trying to convey; you can only see your path or your intention of what you want to do when your mind is calm, when you heart is at peace, when you understand yourself. Creativity/inspired thought comes from a place beyond the mind so if the mind is preoccupied with problems, anxieties your creative insight is obscured.

Surrender comes to mind, when I listen to this young woman. I wonder how she is now, 10 years later.

Eckhart tolle also talks about inspiration when everything is in place inside of us. Don't have to look any further for inspiration

"You are always upon your path
But are you walking it in the most powerful way
    It is not the path
It is the way you walk the path
Nothing is missing when you are deep in each step

Basis of Budhism is reincarnation and law of karma . The necessity of Budhism is impermanence sufferings and concept of no soul . Budhism guide us to stay in human world and heavens until final stage is attained 🙏🙏🙏

We have no path our own. God created human for His own purpose just like you want to create things for a purpose. To find ur path is to find God and discover our destiny.

Before looking at the answer, one should evaluate the question. It's like 'what do I do with my life?' Sorry but...not even Buddha himself could answer this in a way that's not 'vague' enough for the commenters below me.

@MrWrongevolution Why are you so negative my friend? He did help her by saying that you should have a few guidelines and reminded her that she should find this path herself by meditating and help from brothers and sisters. Ask yourself why you try to devaluate Buddhism? Negativity won't help you, others nor your cause.

A dusty reflection...inndicative that the true effortless image that acts is simply covered with the dust of particles of ego and clogs of actions. Mindfullness will clear your restlessness and doubts & thoughts, freeing you to sing your own potential. Your energy wont be stymied and balled up...energy blooming as is natural as your face.

I don't see his comment as being patronising, it is your own thought structure that perceives it as such. It is not reality.
The guy just likes to express his feelings in colorful language is all.

Vu Kevin. I gather that English is not your first language, based on your spelling etc.. But, you should not equate nudism or nudity with alcoholism, killing or use of force to destroy the human rights of others. The first is a medical and psychological problem. The others are bad actions or behaviors. Nudism/Naturism is a way of enjoying nature and ones own physical being. Our bodies should be enjoyed, since we have them, and doing so without clothing brings us closer to the beauty of the world, nature and ourselves. The body is good, and the enjoyment of nature through it is a good thing.

Um yeah but Mr. Negative has a point. Not Thich's finest moment and frankly a very difficult question, the sort any professional counsellor or chaplain wants to avoid giving overly specific answers. Apparently neurotic and nervous girl, he was hardly going to invest lots of time in helping her out in such a public forum. He;s brilliant but not perfect, of course
