It's been 4 years since I've watched this video and my life has changed so much. I used to make merry over myself and others, make fun of love, now I love all and have hope for humanity. It all started here,.. 🌸😄🌸

Love the tree analogy too: "Look at the tree standing outside. The tree has to be healthy, beautiful and a tree has to take care of itself, so that it is robust enough, healthy enough beautiful enough..." Thich Nhat Hanh

Reminds me of :"Only those who truly love and who are truly strong can sustain their lives as a dream. You dwell in your own enchantment. Life throws stones at you, but your love and your dream change those stones into the flowers of discovery. Even if you lose, or are defeated by things, your triumph will always be exemplary. And if no one knows it, then there are places that do. People like you are unknowing transformers of things, protected by your own fairy-tale, by love.” - Ben Okri

Powerful. I love the way he uses such simple analogies to articulate a point. I'm actually in the audience just out of shot. I always remember this talk because of the powerful tree analogy and how loving oneself is good for the whole world.

We are now at a time when instead of looking for our answers within spiritual gurus, we will find them in ourselves and our own hearts. It's breaking down the old barriers that hold us back trusting ourselves.

I'm a Buddhist, one of the main thing the Buddha taught us is that everything must base on self willing. one must be willing to do something not that they are forced to do it so your action is probably base on love but if the other person is not willing to hear you then you should not do it. you must find another time when he or she is willing to listen to you to tell them.

I would say, according to the Bouddha's teaching and psychanalysis theorie, that it depends on the situation, on the person's desire and your own desire concerning the person. You can not help someone who doesn't want to be helpt, that is sure. If you did try for a while, and that the person started to hang on you, but still can't or doesn't want to start walking alone, a gentle distance between the person and you can maybe help to cure an abandoned feeling whithout seeking in dependance.

Don't know if its an act of self love but yes, its better IMO to remove yourself from harmful situation or negative people. work on yourself first, only then you will be able to deal with such situation and help others. hope this help

Otherwise, what you have to give to the person is maybe not adapted to the problem she incounters, adapted to her personnality, to the moment. We can sometimes not save the persons we love, and that is harmfull, very harmfull, but it can give us humility to, and hjumility is a great source of compassion, love, and freedom...Excuse my english, I'm french...Keep courage and faith in the Boudha who lives inside the person...
