He’s literally proving her point. He’s literally behaving like a textbook narcissist! A high functioning man would be able to sit, listen and receive the lashing he set HIMSELF up for!

Ladies, I would like to inquire about your understanding of the concept of a high-functioning man. As a subject matter expert, I find it intriguing when women provide advice to men and expect specific reactions, despite not being men themselves. Conversely, when men offer professional or personal advice, they are often told that they cannot dictate a woman's response because they are not women. In my opinion, it is essential for men to receive guidance from other men in certain situations.

Unfortunately, I feel it’s because that’s how men have been taught that’s what their worth is. They are also rewarded for it in society. In
My experience, I’ve also upheld that and less on character, and that’s where I’ve misstepped as a woman. I’m learning that now myself, as I learn my value, that’s not our value.

Nick’s body language revealed the moment he started to flea even the conversation he was having on his own show. When this “high functioning woman” began to introduce him to himself in a “non-inflamed” exchange-- he wanted to exit soooo bad. (He turned his body from looking at her directly to looking completely away--she was chasing him for mere eye contact!) He didn’t appear to even realize his “lost of control” in his absolute desire to abandon the conversation sooo bad. The “little abandoned boy” showed up and felt cornered; he didn’t know how to pivot in a non- inflamed conversation with a high functioning woman. He actually looked like he felt tricked and betrayed.

He did feel tricked, because he didn't expect her to come out here and read him and his lifestyle. He felt betrayed it happened on his own show, that she didn't hold back and she wasn't black male worshipping. She gave him compliments, but she didn't try to turn his lifestyle of broken homes into something other then what it was; which is dysfunctional.

She was spot on! A high functioning woman would not want any dealings with the likes of Nick. We care about our peace at the end of the day not a dumb private jet. The part about church also irked me because trying to manipulate a woman by using faith or church is what you don’t wanna do, you’ll be exposed every time. It’s very clear Nick has no clear idea who he is. He needs recurring appointments with Dr. Bryant or someone like her who will keep it real with him.

I think it starts with having real vulnerable conversations in our communities. My husband has really done the work and encourages deep conversations with his male friends. But not every man can go on that level. As women I think it's been more culturally acceptable for longer for us. But still depending on where and how you grew, a lot of women can't be truly vulnerable either. It's easy to stop at "so and so pissed me off." But we're not all able to process and articulate to the point of "when so and so did that, it made me feel like this or like I'm less than and it made me so angry because this is important to me."

I am a 35 year old black man that has been married for 12 years this October. I am a firm believer in solving unresolved issues through rational discourse (which philosophy tells you that the love of wisdom must outweigh your feelings) but hearing how Dr.Bryant explained emotional intelligence as being non-malleable in your emotions is enlightening to me! I believe most men suffer from not wanting to do the work because they only find value in achieving women’s affection rather than long term partnership. Being a high earning man is all you need to attract a lot of women, and doing the work to become a high functioning man is outside the narrow minded goal of most men. I lost my mother at 5 years old, and I am an only child, which I feel led me to “10,000” hours of self reflection, which is why the work is appealing to me, but I can’t speak for most men since my personal situation is so unique. I’m definitely subscribing!🙏🏿

She helped me tremendously to start the ball rolling for my own intentionality aka accountability to create a plan of action to go further. That further was seeking more books, more deep diving into me, and more spiritual teachers etc ❤ she passed the baton to each of us let’s see what you do with it and the rest of us…

Whenever you have an emotional reaction to something that causes you to continuously cut someone off even in jest- it means they are triggering a part of you - it means they have entered into the zone of the things that you need to unlearn and further examine, but most people don’t want to do the work and instead want to settle on a lower vibration of life. This conversation was so beautiful to witness. I hope people are blessed by it and learn when they have to disconnect from things and move on to find the tribe, they are equally yoked to everyone deserves peace of mind. It was interesting to me to hear that Nick cast things upon the Lord, but then in the same breath, and with the same mind, also believes that the Lord would not provide for people who are operating at a higher vibration . Peace of mind is a reflection of self-love and should always come before your love of someone else, if someone’s love requires that your central nervous system be unregulated or comes with a side of manipulation- it isn’t healthy and probably attachment not love. Also a clear sign that is not the person for you it really is that simple. I have had the opportunity to travel, and while high vibration, people may be rare here in the United States that is not the case once you get on a plane.

I am glad he admitted to his toxicity. She touched a massive nerve especially when he got vulnerable about abandonment. My GOD today 😂😂😂 Nick is not listening to communicate, he is listening to defend and feels attacked here 😢… Simply put he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know. When it comes to emotionally intelligent high functioning, women. The thought of being alone and not manipulated is not a negative in the middle of the night. The women who cannot get out of their low functioning state alone and embrace the piece of solitude, security, and self-respect are the women he attracts. Everybody’s goal is not the same. For emotionally, intelligent, high functioning people the goal is to coexist in self peace with others. Not to conquer, confuse, avoid or control each other. You can’t do the same thing and expect different results, when having a heated discussion that might turn physical removing your physical self from the situation, will cause a compound trauma on top of the trauma of abandonment. Instead of trying to physically remove yourself try to mentally remove yourself and physically stay present. Calling a timeout in the middle of an argument, asking your partner to take 5 deep breath’s WITH YOU and then practice silence for an hour together. Let the emotions calm down and begin again. If in an hour, the emotions are still high, suggest waiting until the next day to talk again. If the emotions continue to stay high it’s just someone or both parties aren’t being heard and validated by the person they are trying to communicate with. At this point active listening is not being done. Practice active, listening without responding just receiving the information given. However leaving your partner at a level 10 in emotional pain is not the solution. That’s equivalent to going into the emergency room in labor and the doctor telling you to get it together before he proceeds. One of the greatest gifts of humanity is empathy. We all have the ability. 💚🧘🏾‍♀️
