Blue Pill for sure. Cuz it doesn't say it has to be only for Smash, I could totally be like, "Hey Zain, which carton of milk should I buy?" and he could be all like, "2% dude." Would be pretty cool.
thanks for this. I've practiced tech chasing in uncle punch a lot and even studied the frames of different tech options, but I still haven't been able to react to tech in place and grab it a single time lol. excited to see if this will help
for reacting, sussing out visual cues and flowcharting by reacting to techrolls while assuming its tech in place until proven otherwise is what i have done to make me a reaction speed god
Reaction time pill is still the strongest because of what it does for you in neutral and advantage state: it shrinks your opponent's unreactable threat zone in a weird nonlinear way.
Reaction time is very important but see I have a severe medical condition called stupidity that makes me incapable to react properly in situations where it would give me a big advantage or win me the game
My ass reaction time won't help when I cant execute for shit, I would rather love perfect techskill :P and when I would have that I would need 3 frames of reactiontime >.>
Honestly I can't see the leg split animation, (atleast not until like 10 frames into it and by then its too late.) Up until then fox's legs just look like a blur to me when he techs in place
@@r0flcopter hmm maybe you're right in a way, personally I've never been able to pull it off on my small crt but I haven't given it my all while playing on my large 120 hz capable monitor
@@swank8508 you mean like a really old style 4-3 desktop monitor? Look i love collecting old tech but I already own a trinitron and 2 other crts, im not sure I could justify the space and cost that monitor would take up lol
Here's my math on this from going frame by frame in training mode... By the second frame of teching, tech in place fox starts to spread his legs (vs not for other techs). About 26 frames later he gets to spot dodge. Grab takes 7 frames as sheik. So on the 18th frame after being able to react you need to be pressing z. That gives about 288ms after starting to spread his legs that you can press z. If you have a 200ms reaction time there's 5.5 frames for you to judge if it looks like tech in place or not. Those five frames are all fox upside down with this legs apart (vs together for tech in). So if you can react to it before he flips up then you can tech chase? Haven't been able to do it yet but just practicing trying to figure it out
Ive gotten pretty good at reaction tech chase due to uncle punch, but i suck at covering missed tech because i cannot for the life of me dash back out of crouch
IDK man I think the opposite is true. There's only like one dope Game and Watch player and I can't even remember his name but I can list plenty of fox's and falcos.
Just so everybody knows, getting 15frames in the reaction time training in uncle punch is actually a reaction time closer to 200ms. Melee has 2 to 3 frames of input lag.
This applies to tech chasing in general, it is just that those with grabs that instantly put the enemy in a tech situation are easier to demonstrate on. (I think)
Yeah what Hyde said. You can do it with anyone. The only thing you want to watch out for is that tech chasing Sheik is potentially not reactable, but pretty much everyone else should be doable
As long as you have a reaction time of... Well, there goes the rest of the Video for me. Still watching because it's nice to repeat some of the Info for RTC, it has been a while.
@@swank8508 The Video literally starts with giving a Minimum, which i am considerably above (~350 ms on good days). Like, it's right there in the intro. (And yes i know about Mental stack and prepared Reactions)

Either blue or pink pill. I'd like advice from people who know what they're doing, but I dunno how inconvenient a buncha voices in my head would be. Tech skill is nice, would definitely help, but it isn't everything.
Really confusing video , so all these years everyone said its barely possible to do reaction techchase and now its called easy with plenty of time to react if its not tech in place? Also barely any pro can do it consistantly? Not sure if i missunderstood this video but sounds very odd to me
Reaction tech chasing is impossible 😈 until I see it done consistently, (which has yet to happen in 20 years worth of this game being out) I will continue to deny the “believers” though having a damn good tech chase it obv still very achievable and beneficial.

I’d be sick to not have to practice to get really good tech skill
Spark is actually making great guides. I’ve been playing for 8 years, I watch these mostly to support but this was actually OD
200 bpm? *gets wobbling flashback
200 bpm is the speed of melee imo, its like the heartbeat

That's a controller dependent issue. You have to work around it, play on a box style controller or get a controller that can.
My reaction time is very below average, so, uh, good thing I play Roy?
I guess?
