Nobody’s mentioning the sheer talent and dedication it took for jon’s team to not only make all that but also the fact they had to deal with jon the whole time
I know it's a late reaction, but the other team did plenty of useless stuff as well (the drawing, for example). You can't code for 24 hours a day. You need distractions.

Why didn't this ever take off? I'd love to see this in a tournament of 8 teams of three, and each ep you see two team go at each other, until two teams go to the finals. Then the games get posted available for people to play if they want or something. This is a cool concept.
This is based on something people already do. Gamejams are a pre-existing idea. Or do you mean you wish they'd make a big dea lout of there with filmed scenes of them working and stuff? Because honestly, I 100% agree with that idea. I jsut don't think most actualyl work together in person so it wouldnt really be doable.

Returning to this video after seeing the ManyKudos video, I had no idea the behind the scenes stuff before this. I felt that this was an out of place video for Jon’s channel, despite being very entertaining. But now having a better view of the disastrous attempt prior to this, I can understand why you’d all want to have a more sincere production over a game jam.
Yes! The context of the disastrous Mountain Dew Game Jam is essential. Jon's speech at the beginning about how this is a genuine experience really hits different after learning about that tragedy.

This is actually an incredible idea for a competitive game show! I watched a game show on blowing glass FFS, this kind of thing has a huge audience!
I have to admit, I'm hard on the people I like most because they need that criticism. This video was definitely a step ahead from what I expected and I liked it. That being said, I still think Jon's game reviews are a little more entertaining. Just a little.

Have you listened to any of the stuff he's put out on his channel? A while back he put out a bunch of WIP music he had laying around. It was nice.
I use FL studio to make music. It’s really fun. I could probably figure out the exact instruments Chris was using lol. I know he was using the sytrus plugin for the melody but idk what instrument from sytrus he was using bc there are like 150 of them

I think it's sad this video doesn't have as many views as Jon's other videos as (while not the best) it is probably the most unique project in his catalogue and I appreciate the balls that were needed to take a chance on it.

Jon cheated by having another person do his makeup for the FMV scenes and probably had somebody else edit them together. By the rules he should have did all the FMV filming himself.
Some of my best game jam teammates have been people who have never made a game before. never underestimate the value of a hype man.
2salzig2spucknapp each team had two programmers and an artist. Jon was the artist of his team. Chris O’Neal was the artist of his team. If you noticed, he doesn’t know how to code and was just doing modeling and drawing while the two others were coding.
