League of Legends was one of the early pioneers of being a free game which made their money by selling "cosmetic skins". The rest is history, now every game has skins, mystery boxes and battle passes. But with releasing skins for over a decade now, some of these skins have become rare and very sought after. Some players will go out of their way to pay thousands of dollars to have said skins.
Today we take a look at what the rarest and most expensive skins in the game are.

I have the riot ward skin
As of last year I did send in a ticket and received my unique skin (I as well picked PAX TF even though I probably play sivir more). I learned from videos how to "optimally" whale League of Legends skins and reroll the skins and I guess now its like an investment. That I got all the skins so that any future skin is cheaper. I have been playing since season 2 and I think its interesting you didn't mention Triumphant Ryze. I wouldn't say its crazy rare but its probably an honorable mention or could have been an interesting one to input in the video. It is at least hard to get that skin now while in like season 3-5 there were league community events sponsored by Riot to give out the skins to winners of their daily tournies. Great video!

i had multiple times the max amount of skins. they don't give it to everyone. i've got 1374 skins at this moment after they created around 40 skins in like 2 months. i tried to contact the support multiple times cause, like i said, i had ALL the skins that you can buy or reroll. riot games sent a message saying congratulations, we love to see people like you enjoying the game. that's it, they give almost nothing unless they think you can do something (promotion, videos, events, etc.) for them...

Black Alistar was available for Philippines players. There was a worlds watching event/ league convention around season 6, by garena, who distributed League at the time, which gave out the skin to those who attended along with other goodies. The event was named Rampage
Nothing is rare in Garena. I bought Black Alistar in Vietnam server for less than half a dollar.

@@wonderingsoundsrecords don't know if you have had the same event, we had an event featured 5x5 board and 4 reward "chests" on the board. The player spend RP to move Zed across the board and collect hidden prizes. Tho the prize was rigged so you had to reach all chests to obtain the final milestone reward, the player could spend a few RP to get 5 steps and reach the first chest, in which you could choose a cheap skin in the list. Black Alistar was in the first chest's skin list, and considering all the top-up event from Garena, anyone could get that skin for dirt cheap.
(Black Alistar, as well as a few old skins also featured in some few events with cheap prize, but not every event. While skins such as Silver Kayle or Victorious Jarvan were featured as expensive prizes in events.)
Also it was available for Indonesian Players as Newbie Welcome Event around 2015-2016, which i also have one.
Same here in 2019 when my SEA account is still under Garena, I got Pax Sivir for around $40 from an event
You can get King Rammus, Black alistar and a bunch more if you work for Riot, a friend of mine worked in player support and Riot gave them those skins. Even after they left the Player Support they get to keep the skins.

@@Richtofen Player Support Specialist. Either way you are not directly working for Riot Games. They got a sub company doing all the tickets. You gotta go through a test, a phone call with the recruiter team. It's easier to get refered by someone who's already working there. They get you a relocation package and you good to go. But as @Georgi Stavrev mentioned. Not worth it at all. Especially in Bulgaria. The skins and RP you get won't make up for that little to no Salary you get.

same here. at the time it wouldn't be rare and even today I doubt it's "rare" in the sense that not a lot of people have it - it's probably more-so rare that most of the accounts that own it, either don't use it, or no longer even play the game, so you just never see it.

there are very rare emotes that are limited to specific servers, like the anivia emote on the chinese server, that was given out on new year 2022. However, you cant buy accounts with that emote, since you cant transfer them from china to anywhere else.

I know for a fact they still give out the rare skins to this day. Got my PAX TF last season when I hit the 1400 skin milestone, the encounter with the riot employee was just like described in the video.

@@xS0JUxNot quite sure exactly how many skins there are to date that are obtainable right now since I have not played for a few months but you need all of them. I would contact support if I were you though. When I was close but did not have all of them they sent a message back to me letting me know exactly how many were left which in my case was around 70. And when I got those 70 skins I contacted them again and they gave me PAX TF which was the one I picked.
Proud to say I’ve been playing so long that I own Judgement Kayle, Pax Jax, Pax Sivir, Championship Riven(2012) and a bunch of other unobtainables. Not to mention a lot of the rare summoner icons and ward skins. In my 13 years of League, I’ve only seen one King Rammus and two Black Alistars in the wild. I have yet to see a Silver Kayle or Human Ryze or any of the other mentioned skins, and I have a LOT of games played.

I have human ryze, but it's called young ryze now. They reworked it in 2016.
@@nOokySK It shouldn't have. Check your collected skins on the account. It should sort it by year. If it isn't on there and you know you had it on the account, you can reach out to Riot. Their support page is very confusing but someone should be able to help you out. There should be a record of it in their system. When they were doing the Riot Account transfer from League accounts, there is a chance it could have gotten lost in the transfer there. I remember it being very messy.

There was a way to generate infinite amount of codes. That's why riot deactivated the redeem code section. The skins are not that rare, with hundred of thousands of copies that where actually sold instead of the 20 000 that was suppose to exist.
I have Riot Singed and Judgement Kayle myself. Riot Singed is my favorite of the bunch. Back then there wasn't a lot of particle effect changes and all singed skins had the same purple smoke trail... EXCEPT FOR RIOT SINGED! It has an orange smoke trail to play mind games with your opponents. Orange is a much scarier color than purple so people want to run away more. =]
I picked up riot singed from a code card I bought on ebay in 2013 for 50$. Singed has always been my main, and I'm so glad I got that when I did, because the price of the codes went up a lot, then as he said they did away with them entirely in 2014.

@@Chickenburger-2 buy the pass and play the shit out of it. Then only buy orbs. Turn mythic essence to skin shards. reroll skins you already have and use orange essence to buy all the cheap shards you have available. Turn all ward skins, emotes and icons to orange essence.
another step further would be to ask for gift cards and the likes for stocking stuffers and use that to buy orbs. I did this for years through high school till I started scraping for some side cash.

i think the "rarest" thing i have on my account are some of the free skins that were given back in 2011, badger teemo and assassin master yi. but i remember being a kid and seeing league on shelves and questioning why anybody would buy a free to play game. kinda wish i did.

You can get every skin in game by hextech crafting, except for the Victorious ones and the ones listed in the video
Actually back then when Garena was operating their servers in SEA, you can get EVERY SKIN in the game, I mean LITERALLY EVERYTHING, as long as you spend thousands of dollars, either by being in the top top-up accounts of the gacha event or bump in money until you get it

Awesome video! Im really grateful you brought up the odds of getting a prestige skin from a box. I've looked for quite some time but never found the odds. I have multiple accounts and one of which I recently lvled up got 2 prestige skins and 1 legendary! I've only opened about 7-8 free boxes and I felt incredibly lucky. I guess I have used all my luck for the next 5-10 years ^^

I have a black alistar from going on an event in philippines back in 2013 in SMX convention, and also the championship riven, i bought like the bracelet with codes on it. i participated in Rampage planned by riot itself. Me and my friends bought the expensive ticket and got two skins which are those two.
you forgot about the harrowing event icon in 2012 where if you spent a high amount of RP you could unlock specific icon like vengenfull wraith for 10 000 RP spent within that event period

@@mkovis8587 ALL seasonal skin used to be limited and unique to that year.... But riot gaslighter the fanbase claiming they are actually legacy skin and not designed ot be limited. Even though in that harrowing event, skin like TF's were clearly marked as FOMO skins.
In the end only things exchanged for money like the harroxing event's icon will nto be released because it would be legally liable

Regarding the TF skin/code cards, the websites that sold those codes/accounts actually made the codes because of a mechanic people found out, so there is more rare skins out there than we think.

The problem is, that most of these champs have better skins today
I own Silver Kayle - i use it from time to time, but Kayle has so many other good skins, so yeah.

I remember going to Target as a kid to get the retail copy of league for Silver Kayle. The first copy I bought had an invalid code (meaning someone took a picture of the code and slipped it back in) but the employees were kind enough to do an exchange. It feels nice to have it. I initially thought the video creator meant to say Silver Kayle, but it makes sense that Judgment is also rare based on how old it is.

Some of those skins such as the PAX skins, Rusty Blitzcrank and original Champ Riven and Urfwick can be obtained if you own enough skins where your My Shop doesn't offer skins for sale, if so you can make a support ticket showing so and they will offer you one of those skins for a one time only ordeal. But you practically have to own every purchasable skin for this to work

They do this to this day, I own all skins and you have a small fraction of the exclusive skins available for choice, I can look up the support ticket if you need but i picked PAX Twisted Fate :)
Kinda surprised that you mentioned judgement kayle as are skin, i had that skin forever never thought it would be rare
it is rare because it was only available if you used the tribunal system I believe. So only a fraction of the playerbase got it when it was available! It is likely my rarest skin along with pax Sivir.

Some Prestige 2020 skins are now permanently rare on some accounts That have 2 prestige skins same champion

It makes me wonder how many of these very rare skins get "deleted" because of account bans resulting in increasing the rarity of those skins. It maybe be useless information but I'd be cool to see how many of them still exist vs how many were given out.
I actually had pax tf on old acc that got perma banned
had riot girl rusty blitz and silver kayle (ryze triumphant too but i don't think he is that rare) and champion ship riven the first edition , on my pre beta account that got perma banned , feelsbad i tried to get it back 4-5 years laters but even with that amount of time they refuse to give it back ... even when i show them that i don't even talk in chat anymore, they are pityless

im shocked you didnt mention the OG championship riven, since its also one of the skins you can get from riots list after obtaining all skins (source: me, i did it and got that skin) and i've seen maybe 2 people total in my 10 years of playing lol having that skin.

because he is not that much rare, and hard to tell the difference beetween the old and the new only a crown, the real rare are black alistar and human ryze, i play since the closed beta , and NEVER SEEN those skin, when i saw a shit tons of Pax TF and all others, i just think i saw black alsitar 1 time but i forgot it because i didn't knew it was rare and it was long years ago so my memory are maybe confused, to me those 2 are the REAL rarest skins

why did you say that there is only 20k of less people with pax tf when there where tons of pages selling that and other rare skins by generating new codes. since riot check for codes was a joke so there are wayyyyy more people with that skin. they stoped the ability to exchange old codes for that reason alone
i've got the riot ward, i was code hunting for people posting them on reddit back in 2014 i guess? and we got them with all of my friends, because people would use them in NA but the codes would still work for other regions, so we got them in lan

I played league from 2012 to 2018 and I never fucking knew there were physical copies of the games. That's fucking crazy to me.
One skin I was disappointed I couldn't get was the Urfwick skin. I had finally got all the champions and saved enough Blue Essence to buy the skin at the essence emporium and then they came out and said they weren't doing that anymore. Now I'm just sitting on ass loads of BE for no reason 😥

Really ? Community managers in TR server gave that Fist Bump skins like candy during 2013 or something. Everyone had them at that point. Even I had so many of them that I share them with my friends in Highschool.
I have that original Riot Fist Bump ward skin on my account. It was given through Rioters that attended conventions on behalf of the company. I got it in 2014 from a small convention in Atlanta!

well ... sadly i dont have a lot of "super rare" skins because i started playing 2016 ... but i have pax sivir and all 2022 prestige skins (wich all aren't obtainable anymore) but im sitting on 1554 skins now xD
and they changed the reroll mechanic... you can only get fresh released prestige skins some patches after their release through reroll ... sadly ...
and no riot wont contact you to get one of those skins, YOU have to contact them and if you dont know about it you wont get it ... thats how i got my pax sivir xD

@@word42069 from what i read its so you dont get the border... prev. you would get the border from rerolls but then in one update they specificly said borders are only available on their launch and suddenly you couldn't get them from rerolls only after some patches
No mention of the Odyssey Zenith icon? Definitely one of the rarest icons in game. After a super long quest chain, you had to complete the hardest difficulty of Odyssey Extraction but every player was only allowed to bring a single augment. I remember that challenge would take people upwards of 5-6 hours, and some couldn't ever do it. Not sure if it's obtainable from chests, but it is currently the only ultimate tier icon in the game that isn't awarded for being master/grand/challenger in some season.
Odyssei event was fkng good.
That was simple to do since you could cheese it with only using ziggs in a corner. Back then I was still a silver player and even I got it without too much trouble.
true but i don't think it is one of the rarest. definitely very rare though. some that are rarer that spring to my mind are the winter event 2012 baron nashor icon, the one you got for playing enough twisted treeline games or the one you got for playing enough dominion.

I can confirm that the "free" skin you get from sending a ticket (after obtaining all the available skins in the game) is still a thing.
At this moment in time the amount of skins you need, is around 1430.

So if u own every skin the game (I do) you only need to spend 20 ducks a month to keep owning every skin. Basically by buying a pass and saving your prime capsule rp. You will be able to spend your tokens on event capsules which ever 600 tokens will give u 1 skin. 1 month per event. So you should be able to get 15+ capsules sense the daily reset event is 200 tokens. This being said you would be able to stockpile for rerolls. And grab every skin on release. Gemstone exclusive skins come available after they leave shop( a month time to wait) and the prestige skin for the event comes available once the event ends. Usually between 10-15 skins drop a month so you would need at most 30 skin shards. You can also spend you gemstone for shards as well. Average event gives you 35gemstones meaning 3 skin shards. Plus you also got the event drops as well so getting the goal of 30+shards is very do able. With this said 240 dollars a year or 140 dollars a year if u save up ur Amazon prime points will net you every skin in the game.
They release more skins on average than you think. Especially with the esports team skins. Also once i na while they just dump a bunch of skins at once. It ends up being more expensive than that to maintain.

Riot ward was a part of Promo on Russia server. Part of guilds program rewards, but I've actually received it by winning in match 5 players vs 5 riots on aram. I was blitzcrank (my otp btw) and was the one who rolled the game with some gamechanged hooks, so for me this ward not only rare but GREAT MEMORY also.
Btw, got Judment Kayle and all riot skins (except Singed, and I really sad about it, I wish in future I'll find the way to be that so cool guy that they will contact me to offer it).
When I first started playing...I found Kayle. She was F2P that week, I fell in love instatly, bought her with IP....
Then I learnd that when you have gotten 10 PVP wins I would have gotten her for free, AND the judgement skin. Not a day goes by... She was my favorit champ, and that skin looked amazing, before her rework.
A friend of mine had the skin, and used to bust it out on the rift sometimes to mess with me.
But now... I'm totaly sold on the Star Guardian line. Those skins are out of this world. (Support main btw)
Literally today had a game with two of the rarest ward skins according to this video. Season 3 Ward, which I use and the Riot Games ward. Low elo be a funky place.
The PAX skins were rare even when they werw available. Players only got them from codes by going to PAX events when LoL was still young. I always wanted PAX Sivir

I'm not a Beta player, but I have played since Season 1 and I currently own Judgement Kayle (acquired 2011, through an event or something iirc), PAX Sivir (acquired 2013 through a code-card) and NEO Pax Sivir (acquired 2017), which was given for free to all owners of the OG skin.
I thought I had the OG Championship Riven too, but I must have not ended up actually buying/getting it back in 2012.
I'm also extremely lucky to have received Prestige Mecha Kingdoms Garen through either the Amazon Prime loot capsules or a re-roll and I also have Championship Zed through the same means.
Honestly, back in the day before it was changed, Medieval Twitch was one of the rarest skins in-game and even then, the only people who had it were people who paid botters to get a crap-ton of referrals, hence why Riot removed the skin from most people who had it when the system changed (myself included lol). However, even since the change to the obtain-method, I think I've seen 2 people use the skin in hundreds of games.
Judgement Kayle was handed out to everyone who played at least one ranked game in that season.
While not really rare on their own,
Due to a client glitch, my account somehow received rewards from both Light and Dark side during the Versus 2018 event.
Even though you're supposed to be only able to receive rewards from one side, I own both on the same account.
Back in 2021 I bought every single skin in the game. I re-rolled all of the Prestige Skins so with the mythic skin overhaul I got all of the 2022 versions. SADLY I didn't know about the option to contact Riot and get a unique skin.
Those Skin Where Available in Philippines Last 2019 Where you Gonna Spend Lots of Money Around 6000php just to get one, Christmas Promo Spin and Event Exchange Shard It Got Goth Annie, Championship Riven 2012, Pax TF and others Though its just a Week event so its a Rush Event

3.2k on league over its whole life been playing since the week league was out of beta. you should do some of these for chromas too like malzahar gold chroma for his snowday skin ect or skins that you could only unlock through playing a gamemode back in the day like the ziggs skin for the star gaurdian gamemode? dont remember the game its been forever
I obtained Riot Singed last April 2021 and Pax Sivir last December 2020. I just forget how I obtained them but I'm pretty sure that I obtained them randomly instead of outright purchasing them. So, I'm not entirely convinced that there is absolutely no way to obtain those skins.
And in case anyone is wondering, I live in the Philippines and definitely did not have money to go to PAX back in 2011 nor be able to meet Rioters more than a decade ago. I also have both Neo Pax Sivir and Pax Sivir on my account, so I'm sure that I didn't get them confused. I also do not have all the skins unlocked. Right now I probably only have about 50 to 60 percent of all the skins unlocked.

They still give a free skin if you have all the other ones. I claimed rusty blitzcrank for the lols. The list when I claimed has been reduced to just blitzcrank, pax skins, urfwick and 2012 riven. So the rammus, kayle, corkie, Alistair weren’t being offered anymore
funfact: There use to be an "event" in Garena LoL where you get "Buy" all the pax skins in 2021/2022
The reason, Mythic skins are rare btw is because of the borders. You may think it's stupid that people care a lot for a few line of pixels on the loading screen but, it's proof that you got it when it was just new and also a massive flex to people who only got lucky. I'll bet you there's a 50/50 chance you haven't seen an Elementalist Lux Border once before.
I remember that shit, you had to pay extra for the border, so I only got the base skin without the icons.
@@sonnenblume4 the thing was there was none of the extra icons included with the border the only icon that you can get with it is the elementalist symbol, the border only existed for a couple of days and was swiftly replaced with the skin + extended icons bundle. It was weird as hell, I being the idiot that I am did not realize this therefore I spent more on the none bordered version with the extended icons bundle. Still have the icons really hoping they can't be gotten through crafting though cause I paid good money for them back in 2016.

- Neo Pax Sivir ≠ Pax Sivir
- Urfwick ≠ Urf the Manatee
- Championship Riven 2016 ≠ Championship Riven
He has all three skins on the left side and he thought his account was worth a lot, but no.

Couple of years ego I had all the skins in the game and contacted riot, ended up with original championship Riven, wouldn't spend that much again but it was cool at the time.
