- A how to guide on migrating your website manually from WPEngine to another host with a few particular things you need to do for siteground specifically.
Note: I have changed all the usernames and passwords for this website, so haven't bothered blurring them out in this video.
Thanks! I also had an issue with files and folders permissions after migration. No one mentioned that issue in their articles.
I will need to go thru your video several times especially the php changes to be made - having regrets now with wp engine as , like you say , the costs are high and I have 5 sites - thankyou for your instruction -
Good luck with it, its a bit of a process. But once you've moved it will be much simpler in the future if you need to move. :)
Hi Sarah, So glad you did this tutorial, definitely going in my never detlet section :) Also, how many websites are you able to host on the one VPS? If you don't mind letting us know.
Hi Arden, I'm so sorry I missed these comments. I have since moved from siteground, I wasn't happy with the speed. I am with an aussie company Conetix and have 43 sites on my VPS with no issues.
Thank you for the help! You saved the day!
Very helpful! Thank you!
I am working thru your video but not clear how you get your siteground cpanel to start the process -- do you create a new hosting site with the same domain as the one you are transferring ?
Good tips but, in the future, create totally blank/PII-free data, with fake passwords, so you don't have to blur anything. The blurring is very annoying. Excellent tips though - thank you!
