I never saw the need for a watch winder. Personally I enjoy winding my watches manually and I set the time quite often so it's never more than 15 to 30 seconds out 🤷♂️
Yes they aren’t always necessary, like you say winding yourself is a fun part of it 👌🏻

Looking for an all black ceramic bezel SS GMT Master 2 that was discontinued a few years ago. Are these considered less desirable than the 2 toned bezels in steel. I like the more stealth look. Thanks!

I have a datejust 36mm jubilee fluted with blue motiff. How much you think the price will increase due to the dial being discontinued? and how do you see the demand for it compared with green Palm dial?.
Very hard to say where they will end up, though they should appreciate over the long run!

In 2020 I went into a Rolex main dealer and bought my grandson a 2019 we asked for 36 mm date just oyster perpetual with a black face and a silver strap. How much would they be worth? Never been worn got all the papers.

The problem with second hand Rolex because they’re too easy to duplicate. I hear there are 3 million fake watches in the US. The simpler a watch, the easier to make a replica.

Hey, what do you think of the two tone GMT Master II on the Jubilee with the new black and grey bezel? Will it hold value at retail prices, could it sell over in the future. Is it a good buy now at the AD if I like it?
Yes it will. Just like rootbeer will go up again
TT has always been hopeless at holding value. I own the 126713GRNR so I absolutely like the Watch very much.
The norm for Rolex TT sports, has been at least 20% under retail as soon as you walk out the AD’s door, which we are going back to. You can’t even get retail for it now and the market is still fast correcting on a downward trend 📉
It is a really stunning combination, hard to say what the future holds for this piece, however historically models like this appreciated over the long term 👍

I would much rather buy a Grand Seiko over the Calatrava. You get a lot of the same finishing just because they're made in stainless steel instead of precious metal and made in Japan instead of Switzerland.
The 1908 is gorgeous. Full Geneva stripes, gold rotor, and the design is updated. Patek refuses to do anything with the Calatrava, 35K USD for a new one that looks like a watch from the great depression is absurd. Great video, Charlie!

If Rolex stoped making watches tomorrow, they’d probably appreciate. In reality, Rolex make around 1,000,000 watches a year and with the market cooling, it’s unlikely any of them will double in value anytime soon.
We’ll be back to most watches discounted at any AD by the end of 2025 and the majority of the grey market watch traders will have vanished.
You’ll also find fewer Rolex AD’s on the high street as many retailers drop the brand due to Rolex’s push for each store to have its own dedicated Rolex boutique costing around $500k per outlet. You may have already noticed the jewellery store in your town has suddenly stopped selling Rolex - well, this is probably why.
Advice Rolex temporarily shutdown production..if no price will keep drop

Its interesting that everyone is hopping on the hype train for the Bruce Wayne. Its a few thousand dollars more on the grey market than the root beer CHNR. I predict,however, that the hype will die down on the Bruce Wayne after 6 months time.

Name one that will halve in value over any period of time.
Doubling your money in 10 years is just a bit better than keeping pace with inflation. For effective investing, the doubling time should be around 4-7 years

Yes. This was one of the worst bits of advice on today's show. If you wear a precious metal Daytona when you travel, you effectively will never leave your hotel. I travel 10 weeks a year. If I took a good watch, I would definitely get mugged once a year, that is, if you're doing proper travelling. Not just going to your caravan or on a cruise.
