The dealership mechanics did their job as they are expected to.... they steered the customer to the new sales department.
:))
As an underpaid dealership tech, you couldn't be more wrong.
Sales makes 3-5x what we make a month.
Fuck sales.
@romulusxyz6722 "Sales makes 3x to 5x what we make a month."
Yeah, that's pretty typical of what it's like here, too.
That's why the dealerships want their "underpaid mechanics" to steer customers with repair issues toward the sales department. Sales brings in more revenue.
If they aren't doing that where you're employed, you are the exception, not the rule. And that's good to hear.
@@jackreisewitz6632 Eh I guess I was pretty brash in my reply. I've been a mechanic for about 2 years now, left the IT field after 16 years for something new. That being said, I don't know as much about it as I sounded like I did, sorry man.
But fortunately my company doesn't push us towards sales, it just pisses me off how much more they make.
I'm a watercraft mechanic, and I see some tickets go up to $5,000+. It's disheartening seeing those tickets over and over and then seeing my check every two weeks.
Think it's about time to go back to IT. I was making six figures there. The flipside is that I enjoy being a mechanic more than an IT Security guy. Decisions, decisions man.
Let's give up and let clem say he fixed it. 😂
This has become hands-down the best hands-on channel for anyone to learn how to work on their equipment congratulations God bless
Agreed, the detail thought, not focused on him
I would only add that a clean working environment is very important, BEFORE opening any engine. Taking a few minutes to pressure wash and blow dry the engine bay so you are not introducing dirt into the engine, not only makes for a nice clean area to work on, it saves tool and garage cleanup later and allows you to see cracks and damage that can be hidden by grime.
Moment of silence for the dude who sold it 🤣🤣👌🏼
Looks like the dealership needs better mechanics. Great buy.
But dealer ships have a time limit on trouble shooting. There is a time limit on the books. Whether it is car or sport utility? Dealers want profit. I was usually sent to trouble shoot. And it was rare. Well, I always found the fault. Always. 18 years. Always found it. There were some days
I hated my job
But when it was fixed. I was happy. 18 years of that crap
@@wegmandan why ? they getting paid to fix , isn’t that their job. My mechanic wants $100 per hour dont I get some service
@@Innerlight320Service and repair are two very different things...better learn that.
You’re right about that . Told I needed new throttle body for car was faulting and going into limp mode .They couldn’t fix it so I took it off and cleaned it end of problem . And I’m no mechanic
@@wegmandan sounds like piss poor excuses to me. this just proves why i don't let others touch my stuff when at all possible. Mechanics today are not what they were years ago, especially when it comes to carbs. if i was the previous owner of this machine i would be livid and be down at the dealership showin them this vid and reamin someone sideways. simple jet cleanin got this machine back up to snuff.
I have pretty much the same machine, EFI version a few years newer. I use it around my small farm. Perfect machine for that, I use it even more than the tractor. Put a 2" ball into that receiver and you will find that you can just back it off the trailer and then move that 6x12 trailer to the back of the Teryx. It will tow that trailer like a dream, especially in low gear. Mine will pull the trailer with two 5foot round hay bales on it. Perfect setup, pull the Teryx to a work site on the trailer and then unload the trailer and tow the trailer with the Teryx. I usually have the chainsaw and gas in the dump bed and then fill the trailer with wood. Tailgate is also perfect height for working on the saw when you refill the fuel and sharpen the chain. Fill the dump bed with shovels, saws and drills, and then the trailer with fenceposts, and you have the perfect setup for fencing. It really is a great machine. Way more versatile than a regular 4-wheeler.
You’re the real deal you’re very thorough when you’re checking machines out I work on Small engines and you do very good work
I believe you are the only youtuber that is buying a new project every single day. You sir are using that youtube revenue for a purpose. I have yet to be disappointed by your uploads and content because I enjoy watching you do what you love. The passion you have for the motorized toys is undeniable and I too share it with you. I love motors and wheels and when the 2 are combined, it makes for a way to have hella fun. I have a Honda 440 big bore I'm having trouble with and I'm hoping to get it running again in a couple weeks or so when the weather gets nicer. I don't have a place to work on it inside so I have to wait till the nicer weather gets here. I cant wait to ride it again and go full throttle through my neighborhood. You know the neighbors love it. :D Anyways, thanks for your content. I learn things every new video and I can also go back through your uploads and learn anything that has to do with these machines. Thanks.
How much revenue do you think he makes?
I like it because 1) average man projects (
@@greathornedowl3644agreed
It's surprising it had anything more than carb issues, these are typically pretty reliable, shame on the dealership I'm thinking they just wanted to sell a new one
How pissed would you be if you were the previous owner watching this video & knowing the dealer made you think your ATV was shot so you dumped it! Also casually drives by the hover craft lol
Dealer probably suckered him into buying a new 1
Very pissed indeed.
that hovercraft has been there in so many videos. what a crap buy that was.
building hovercraft video hype, next video titled 'back from the dead'
Sounds like a lawsuit, if this video has factual information.
Another fantastic job, Joe! Thanks for this video! Fun to watch you work and play. Like I'm right there with you.
Nice find broski! 👌 You could start a business locating special or rare machines for people for a fee and repair if needed! Anyways glad you post often, I love these videos for some reason... maybe it's Vinny? Lol much love brotha.
Edit: I just saw it... CONGRATS ON 300K! 👏
I think Joe does pretty good .He fixes tons of bikes and sells tons of bikes for a profit, so I'd say he's making well over 100k a year

For the newbies with chainsaws and cutting firewood, measure your fireplace to see what length wood fits it best,16,18,20,24" etc and get that length bar and chain for your saw, make sure you have the cc size appropriate, and when cutting your firewood simply measure your cuts using the bar making a nick and cut across the nick making the ideal length firewood for your application... also the heavier weight oil one uses in the chain oiler in warmer months means better lubrication for the bar and chain, winter time a lighter weight oil is mandatory the further north one is.. Glad ya got a good deal and price on this sxs and it should last you many many years of miles and smiles and decades if taken care of...
You can use any size bar on the chainsaw. Paint a stripe on the bar for the length firewood you want. I probably wouldn’t cut firewood with a saw smaller then an 18” bar.😊
use protective gear.
especially when you are out alone in the Woods.
a chainsaw makes a mess out of your legs in tenths of a second.
Canola oil is cheaper than bar oil and works better in warm or esp. Cold weather
You're really good and a great mechanic. You know what you're doing
I feel bad for whoever owned this
The plug for the winch is by winch. Should be by the bumper
On both of my Polaris quads, I put the remote plug-in at the top/rear of the left front fender. Well protected with easy access. I just did one for my 2022 570 Trail. I used an old 4-pin trailer light plug. It is all shiny crome, and has a nice spring-loaded cover to keep the crud out.
Glad it's running, sounds good, but, I would recommend running some Chemtool or Seafoam through the top end down the carb throats, no joking it will run way smoother and have increased power. Usually do it on everything we fix her 4 stroke, it's really amazing the difference it makes. At MMI we would spray a fine mist of water through and clear carbon out, this is way healthier and better. Give er a shot... great Job.
Man oh man you are the hardest working youtuber ever! So many new videos
In case you didn't know but the compression tester will hold the built-up psi unless you have taken the Schrader valve out. Just notice that you said that means no bent valve. Great videos
I had the same thought ....but if a valve was bent and open compression would be zero.
the compression gage holds pressure not the valves
It is pretty bad when dealership Mechanics give up on something it took you just a few hours to solve. Goes to show most are not mechanics anymore they are parts replacers. More referred to as plug and play people. Great job.
Can't even state what the issue is. 60 PSI is the spec. Guy says 60. Dealer says compression is bad. "Hey what's the torque specs?" I think it's 2 Uga-duggas. "Thanks".
That is the reason that I do all of my own oil changes and vehicle repairs. I was a heavy equipment mechanic for 45 years.
Congrats on 300,000!!! You deserve it!! You're the hardest working guy on youtube.
I'm going to call you lucky Joe from now on lol. That was a huge score. Love the content in your videos. Keep them coming.
Once you put the tan work pants on you got down to business and figured it out. Lol. You might have to order a new pair just in case. Can't wait for the next video. Love it. Thanks for sharing.
You are so right.
Nice Joe definitely done well on this one runs like a dream now & never took that much to get it going good definitely worth taking a risk from time to time especially when you have the knowledge to fix it & even if you don't you can learn along way have a marvellous weekend mate take care bro 👊 💨
If the last owner is watching, he must be pretty happy with how things worked out.
Can’t wait for the goldwing and vw videos thanks Joe
Great work, Joe. Looks like a good machine for your land. Those mechanics sound incompetent. You did a simple fix and it runs like a top.
That is what I love, those in a decked out garage with $$$ diagnostic equipment, here a humble home mechanic took time
With that side-by-side I think they took the saying run it till the wheels fall off another great video 💯💯
that one is definitely a keeper!!! slap the plow on it and build an enclosure, rig up some heat and plow in comfort!!
Joe you are absolutely the man I tell my wife all the time there is nothing you can't get running
Don't you think he should have his own shop or be teaching votech
These dealerships are a joke. Not worth fixing they say! 😂 I’m sure they just hire anyone with no experience.
It's all about paying out the least wages out there un the world
Man, check your timing ¡
Dealer: It's not worth fixing.
Also dealer: No worries! We have a lot full of new Kawasakis to sell you right here.
No way that kind of thing ever happens though.
sadly enough it goes a lot like that.. if they don't want to bother, they tell it can't be fixed. real mechanics are hard to find lately
When working on lawn mowers and someone brings in a mower with the issue beige it won’t start or they think it bent a lifter rod it seems that every time that it happens the oil is blacker then coal is and a lifter has stuck!!! I’ve ran across this issue probably a dozen different times and I’d say most or at least 9 to 10 are from the Kawasaki engines that most businesses like to run!!! But as long as the oil is changed in the correct hours of run time and a good oil ram each time I’ve never seen this issue!!! Also some come in with a new mower that they baught the year before and say it won’t start?? The first thing I ask is have you ever taken it back in after buying it to have the valves reset after running the mower for 8 to 10 hours?? Every time the answer is no they never said anything about having them checked!!! I’d go in reset the valves and it would start!!! I bet at least 99 out of a hundred people never have there valves reset after buying a new mower and end up with a no start or the mower having a hard to start issue!!!!
It’s another learning lesson but I’m sure you guys will have not having any trouble selling the car. Just ponder the education you have received in the last year plus having fun while doing it.
Really enjoying the content on this channel lots of different vehicles some of which I've never seen before and regular uploads. 👍👍
I could watch your videos all day long. The constant uploads are amazing.
Lucked out on that one, motor seems to be in good condition.
You are one heck of a mechanic!
Best channel to learn from or just to watch keep it up! Your vids are dope on the check in from CT
Congratulations on the 300K.
It's a Kawasaki, I'd start with valve clearances. Those are hell on the adjusters, done a few same way, set valves fired up. Start with intake valves.
Had one come in once with a small metal plug from carb that came out, looked like a small soldered plug, got stuck between intake valve and seat. Pulled it out, ran like a champ.
300k Can't wait for a 500k special and then the 1million special. Love the channel. You're doing a great job.
You are a excellent mechanic bud. The dealer saw the weak compression and didn't even go any further with the diagnosis except push the customer to the sales department or a new rebuild.
Congratulations on 300,000 subscribers!🎉🎉🎉
If you end up replacing internals, might want to consider the $1k 840 big bore kit, seems to be worth it, since so many have made videos, and forum threads about its performance.
Hopefully Vinny will approve
Vinny says 🐕 that looks rough 😂
Vin is an ugly dog. He should not be picky.
I started watching last week! I’ve been binge watching since! I’ve had a motorcycle before, and I’m pretty mechanical but you are absolutely awesome! I’m learning so much! I really enjoy your videos!
Congrats on 300k! I love watching your videos man.
"FEELS GOOD"...isn't proper valve clearance! ...thats why they make feeler guages!
When i worked in a lawn mower shop, technicians became complacent and if the job was too hard they would make up crap to get the person to buy a newer unit. The shop would then buy the units "For Parts" at a very low price fix them and then sell them on marketplace under a fictitious name.
Wow that's horrible!
Wink wink 🤫
I enjoy the sound your camera makes when you are zooming in for close ups it sounds sort of analog and adds character to the audio.
Congratulations on 300k you're getting there keep it up!!!💪💪
Love the channel, great networking. Engine OUT? Could a mini-truck be in your future?
Nothing wrong with that engine! Great job getting it to run, Joe! Smoking good deal, you should be able to make some $$$ if you flip this.
Thanks man!
You are incredibly talented. I wish I had your knowledge and talent. I am unable to fix things like this. I learned many years ago that I can undo all the screws and bolts but am unable to put the puzzle back together. Clearly I have no skills. This 69 Year old DAV, could sure use your help and experience buying a used 4x4 /side by side and getting it up and running.
Another great video. I'm sure you've given people the confidence to work on their own machines after watching you. Now I wish I had my atv back that I sold to my grandson, it was his first and I sold it to him for what I paid for 2 tires, over 20 years old but still was a good atv.
Keep ‘em coming! Love the content
Joe again great job. I would seriously encourage you to please put a fan in a window or open the overhead door before running a smoke machine without ventilation. My wife's ex-husband died from a very rare cancer caused by gas and oil in the auto mechanic field. I as well as I'm sure other fans don't want to see you get sick breathing that junk in.
Great comment. My brother died from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. Not a fun time.
You are a VERY TALENTED PERSON. And a LOT OF PATIENCE
You are the best hand down.I watch everything you do from day one you started this.
Well known way to set the valves is to remove spark plug, insert a zip tie in hole and rotate engine until at top dead center after removing valve adjuster caps and look for cam lobes to be facing down away from rocker arms... adjust away, set valves to factory specs even with aftermarket cams unless you've swapped out to hardened aftermarket rockers and then adjust them to the cams and rockers specs and not the oem manufacturers specs...
Great job bringing her back to life love you videos
Off the trailer and 34 minutes later, it’s running good. I don’t know why Ytube hasn’t sent me a video of yours to watch until now. Been watching ytube for 8-10 years and never seen your channel. Enjoyed and subscribed
Try some metal polish, half a Qtip in a drill, cleans and polishes the float seat to a mirror finish. Works awesome.
That guy just punched himself in the nuts lol 😆 😂
Bought one a couple months ago for 1500 with rod knock. Did a full top and bottom end rebuild for 1k and a couple odds and ins and I’m all in for 2800 for a fuel injected teryx, amazing
LoL 🤣 You must've read my comment to back trailer up to garage. Good idea !!!!
Thanks, you really took an educated deep look at the machine as a whole. I'm looking at an 08 today that I'll probably buy in excellent condition. Appreciate this video a lot!
Congrats on 300k Subs
Thank you!
Nice well done sir, enjoy it I have a gator and love it, love the videos keep up the great work.
Really love your content have been watching your channel for a week or two and am enjoying it. Keep up the good work.
I think your the first person to get a deal at the dealership, nice work and nice machine.
Have the same motor in my brute force. Have the same winch set up and it's on the side next to the ignition. Mine is an efi and the sending unit has a "filter screen" on the middle of the unit that cloggs and is an issue on the efi terix too.
Your compression gauge hold’s compression within itself to hold the reading, it has nothing to do with “valves holding”. Just FYI.
Also, if you put some motor oil down the spark plug hole and do another compression test and the compression goes up, that tells you it’s rings/cylinder blow-by causing your low compression.
Good job nice fix again
Top notch troubleshooting. Thanks for letting us watch.
I do not think i would rely on that dealership. Great for You. They do run nice and smooth. Great Video
Awesome buy joe runs great defo a cool machine and very handy to have I would think about keeping this one take care mate and all the best to you and the wife and your family 👍🔧🔧🔧👌❤️
That's sad that shop knew what was wrong with it
300k subscribers JOE!!!!! Congrats man!!!! We all know you deserve more buddy
That's a great buy. You trusted your instincts, and came out tops. 👍
I still bet it will run even better if you change the fuel filter. And keep it from running lean qnd burning up.
your guage holds the compression, not the engine
Ho Lee Chit that was a great repair . So glad you found another thing you love. Now build a pole barn at home so you can keep every thing without falling over everything. It like a great adventure every video.
Congratulations on the new smoother utv
Get a hole saw and make a hole in the plastic above the radiator cap, works great for piece of mind. They handle larger tyres, suspension is built like a small car. Heavy duty plus. Tow hitch will haul the Polaris and others around the trails all day. They might not be fast but they are tough.
Nice video, good presentation 👌.
Thank you 😀.
I used to blow everything out . Need to boil or soak carbs not wipe stray and put back together
Dust in the Carb's? 😆 That's a new one for me?! 🤞 Excellent job Joe! Double your money on that one for Sure!!
Hi You are my favorite you tuber . The reason is the way you run your channel content . Really appreciate the way you bring us with you . I hope you do very very well ty.
Yesss... lets go Joe!
Congratulations on 300k. Love your channel
"It's holding" is not the engine valve, it's the Schrader valve in the compression tester hose. Also, be careful with just letting plug wire dangle while doing a compression test. If the secondary ignition finds a different path to ground, it can actually cause something called carbon tracking allowing the spark to follow the track rather than through the spark plug.
You need to make this machine into a snow plow and push that Polaris off a cliff :)
Greetings from Finland!🇫🇮 I watch every video on this channel! Great content!
LOVE IT! Great catch. 29:37 "we'll put it back together so we don't lose or mix up parts." 🙋♂Been there, done that, "Oh look I put it back together and have these extra parts!" What happened to wing nuts (old air filters) for easy access points? Why are these not fuel injected, and what about manual transmissions?
When you mentioned dirt being sucked into the carb, I kind of thought it might need a good carb cleaning.
Good buy ! Should be an easy flip if you choose to do so.
But what about the loss of compression
Didn’t watch the whole vid sorry
@James Giresi after he put oil in and re checked both cylenders were back up to 50 so it's good as factory calls for 60
IMHO - I sensed rings, needing engine out rebuild,
Do you list the projects that your done with for sale on marketplace?
Great question. I could use one or two of their machines.
Congrats on 300K!
Awesome job really enjoy your videos very informative thank you for bringing us along 😊👏
Easy fix for a pro like you ... She run in couple off hours 👍👍🚜
Bet another banger vid
