Im 17 y/o. I’m taking sociology in HS, today we learned “lookin glass self” the concept- we perceive & change ourselves depending on what society thinks of us. I’m happy too say I have not changed for anyone- for society, I dress goth, white face, dark makeup, dark clothes, bird nest hair. Get looks but those make me feel better. Means I’m different, people take their time too talk about me, weither good or bad. Be yourself guys, like she said no one is gonna remember you anyway, do as you please. Have a lovely day

Key point you made at the end - you could be working to please someone for years, do one wrong thing, and they'll abandon you in a heartbeat. When you self-validate, every mistake is a new opportunity for growth and self-reflection, and you'll never abandon yourself in that way

You can care about him from a distance. You don't need to be in his life just because you love him. Silent treatment is a punishment and if you don't walk away, you will be rewarding him for punishing you and he'll keep repeating this behavior. And the time will come when you will be overwhelmed and snap at him. That's when he'll call you crazy and make it all your fault.
So it's best to silently walk away now. And never look back. Show him that his petty punishment won't work on you.

Also a man would NEVER even question asking for a promotion or securing the deal.

I recently realized that if you tell anyone that you would like to try something new, for example a try going on a new career path. 9 out of 10 people will tell you “oh this is going to be so hard for you, not many people succeed in this, if I were you I wouldn’t try this.” And you rarely have people who say “yeah, go fo it, good for you, good luck!”. Why can’t people just mind their own business. These “advices” are not really advices, people are trying to hold you back and I always wonder why.

And then, to hear you say “I PLOTTED it” - and that be what this video is about?

That’s exactly what I tell myself, when I reflect on things that I hold some semblance of shame for (which, isn’t much, surprisingly- being raised in a family full of nearly only women, which, included a narcissism diagnosis).
Everything in my life I have plotted and schemed, in one way or another.

??? If you cant first have a healthy relationship with yourself that will effect all other relationships. As a long time people pleaser who put everyone but myself first this message is on point. How can you have good relationships if you are not first showing up for yourself that gives you the ability to show up authentically as yourself in your relationships which also gives other people unspoken permission to be their authentic selves. A healthy relaionship with yourself is the gate to healthy relationships with others.and dare I say FOR others ( being free inspires others to be free) that to me is a very unselfish thing to do!!!.. Wow I just blew my own mind!!! Also you cannot give what you dont have if you dont love yourself first how can you expect to love others...and receiving is predicated on the quality of giving...if you cannot receive love well because you dont see yourself as valuable it effects the quality of your giving love to others because its coming from a place of scarcity....

Apathy and acceptance are not the same thing.
Unless you're a psychopath, everyone cares what people think. When people don't like you or accept you, it will hurt. There's nothing you can do about that.
The trick is to accept it and learn to be ok with it.
The same concept applies to losing a loved one.
Lying to yourself and saying "I don't care" is just suppressing your emotions and pretending they're not there. Which isn't healthy and is definitely not a solution.
-Supressed emotions will always manifest into something even more destructive, like low self esteem and self hatred.
-Accepted and tolerated emotions will eventually dissipate, or even make you a stronger person. Which will lead to self love
We're egocentric beings feeding off eachother's egos. Unless there's something wrong with you, there's absolutely no way to genuinely disregard the opinion of others. Because that would mean you don't care about yourself

Margarita. You embody this. I’ve taken your courses. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking to you. You’re a walking- talking example of Love yourself in the healthiest manner possible. On a side note ~ I loved the Virgo energy in this video 🙈💕

Fellow Virgo here and I agree! I recently took the online Feminine Principles course and loved it. The deer, horse and cow analogy blew my mind, so strikingly accurate!
