That’s absolutely nothing to worry about, Mel looked fine, I’m glad she didn’t give a shit. Mel’s comfortable in her own skin , and I’d like a body like hers. Open toes shoes, are they kidding ? They need to get real, and if you want to stay in the sun, that’s up to you, let them go into the shade. ( Let them 😉 ) I think these ladies are a little snobby to be honest.

It’s shocking how women are always the one judging other women. Men wouldn’t care if their male colleague is exposing his toes or is shirtless. Who gives a s* that your nipples are showing during a meeting with 4 other women colleagues in a very informal/ casual environment? Come on.

As I said in another comment, there is nothing wrong with wanting to see a video where the person doing the podcast has cleaner language. It doesn't mean the person who wants that is 'uptight', it just means they want more clean, respectful language and there is nothing wrong with that.

The judgement in this is unreal!! Is Mel not giving a shit or keeping it real? Mel, I love you for what you are not...I salute you for bringing humour to this - cause damn, I can't - the average woman on my current continent cannot afford good, supportive shoes for work, standing all day - nevermind judging another person for (assuming they had choice) in footwear. Ugh, I bless these ladies with deep empathy and compassion for the unknown situations of others, I bless them with the deep knowing that their exterior look/presentation is finite and fleeting and I also bless the shit out of them with gratitude and humility for their 1st world problems. Rock on Mel, with your tits out all the way, your bare feet in the dirt and letting the F bombs rain down in glory! You are authentic, real and natural - a breath of fresh air in a plastic society.

Naming the point of view (HR) does not cover up that these practices/the advice is rooted in judgement. Somehow natural and even 'not pretty' is perceived as wrong. Even if corporate/societal norms are the driving factor, it does not make it just, inclusive or kind. Yes, boobs out around an immature group/corporate is highly inappropriate. This is not the case here though...Did you notice the refined wrongness for being more natural? The lady needed Vitamin D, can we allow her to do what her body requires without making it wrong? Did you hear that having blood vessels dilated in the face after exercise in a hot room is now 'looking like shit'? I don't prefer it AND it is okay if you are fine with that sort of setup too. I would like to see less shame and wrongness when it comes to the female (in particular) body, and other natural body processes, especially from other women.

@@elizabethbooth7084 I am speaking to that part of you (and the part of the collective) that thinks; looking pretty will protect you, that you need armour to be amongst strangers, that not being made up is "your worst", the part that will avoid getting a coffee even though you want to - because your face is red and you fear judgement so much, you got put yourself right (according to others) first. Only because there is so much more to humans and what we look like is overemphasized in the current culture. I don't agree or disagree with you.

@@now591 It appears to be a catch-22 I understand what you are saying because some people place a high importance on social customs. I believe that in some circumstances acting a specific manner would be respectful. Personally, I find that letting go some of the formalities of personal settings makes me feel more honest and relieved. Having respect that goes beyond decorum and just having genuine interactions without formality can be positive. :)

Thank you!! I have always cared what other thought because that was what my mother always taught me. She was raised very co-dependent and could never see that it was wrong. She raised me the same way, my father was always very demanding and I was taught to always cater to the men in my family. Never talk like I am smart, because someone may think I think I am better than them. Well I am the only high school and college graduate in my family and I deserve to be free to speak the way I want to. It is not my problem that others are so insecure that they feel put off by my intelligence. I have a bachelors degree in law, I am a paralegal at a very large firm and I should be proud of that not made to hide those facts because it may make someone else feels a certain way. That is not my problem. Your videos and podcast have been so liberating for me. Please never stop speaking the truth. It took me 50 years to embrace who I am. BTW your daughters singing made this military mom cry. She has an amazing voice and hope she shares it with the world.

I love the advice you gave Dr Amy! She deserves to be recognized for her accomplishments. I think she felt undeserving and self conscious about the title. She should be proud if it!!
Please don’t censor yourself to conform to society’s “rules.” We
need more authentic people in the world! Open toe shoes and sunbathing at lunch should be acceptable behavior!!

Mel, In 1996..I was 30 years old with 2 small children going through a divorce..the children's father had started nasty rumors about drug use and I was devastated as I thought If anyone believed him …my children could be taken from me! I was hysterically confiding in my dad and he said “let him put it on the 6:00 news, everyone that knows you knows the truth and those that don’t know you…well, why would you give a F what they think”!! We should put it on T-shirts!!
Honestly 30 years later, best advice I have received!!
    I love you Mel!!

Came over for the photo and it did not disappoint!! Saturday I wore a top to the farmer's market that I love but never wear because it doesn't work with a bra. It def pushed my comfort zone as I felt I could see my nipples more than I'd like. I wore it, got a complement and lived to tell the tale here! Wooohooo! Giving less f*cks every day!! Love you so much Mel and team!

I love whats happening here in this podcast. So it's completely refreshing to see beautiful grown ass women keeping it all the way real, being completely honest with one another and not taking huge offense and getting mad at their friends or coworkers for telling them how they really feel or what they think. I love the acceptance and I love you Mel Robbins not only because of you as a person but bc of your embracement, courage and being so transparent for other women who desperately need these things in their own lives, including mine. Thank you ladies!

Mel, this episode really shows me why I Love You So Very Much!! I love how real you are. I love that you dont give a shit. I love your confidence. I love your channel and all of the life changing things you share with the world to help us to do better and feel better about ourself. It all makes you a beautiful person.
Social media has a huge problem. Not much of it is real. Everyone is so focused on the outside appearance that it's disgusting. I have watched,.listened and met a lot of beautiful looking people but they are not kind, they are arrogant, they look perfect on the outside but you can tell inside they are not happy.
I laughed so hard as your employees told you the things you did wrong. I loved your expressions because I would have probably had the same ones. The things people are concerned about these days.....I too find it freeing to not "Give A Shit!" Its amazing. It took me until the age of 54 to figure it all out. I have more peace and joy in my life. Life is difficult enough as it is, why care about all of this shit too!! 🤷‍♀️
    Thank you. ❤

I love this sooo much. I very recently found (& subscribed!) to the Mel Robbins channel!! I'm a 43 y'o finally finishing my BA studying psychology. 14 year practicing LMT (massage) & going through a personal transition on becoming my ideal self! What I loved about this session is the openness to constructive criticism. No one was being mean nor tearing each other down. It was all loving and honest without being * brutal*. This is one of those concepts that is changing for the better in our currently society!! Having an open discussion with our peers about *norms* and conformity versus being most authentic selves by doing what brings us joy and confidence!! I do think if it effects other people directly even if just making something socially awkward, we should be able to have a discussion JUST LIKE THIS with people we care about!! Not take it super personally as an attack but an opportunity for growth and gives the open opportunity for a response... not a defense... because it's not an attack!!! I applaud the content I've watched thus far!! Keep up the amazing work/content/creation/openness/honesty/awesomeness!!!

I'm now 54, overweight, colour my hair blue, pink or purple because I don't care now, I'm a Reiki healer, I found that people smiled and say positive things about my hair, if I can make just one person smile for the day then I'm doing my job ☺️ if they are happy, I am happy 😊 you do you boo❤
