I was in dublin recently walking around the city and it struck me how nobody acknowleged or even smiled it was like i didn't exist - for the next 10 mins or so i started to feel incredibly sad - And then out of the blue a light switch went off in my mind - that the negatve self talk was just a mirror of myself. It was me who was ignoring everyone and not smiling at anyone and they were just reflecting back to me myself. This enlightenment had me beaming into a big smile and have a bounce in my step - and guess what happens next? Someone smiled at me ❤
Hey buddy, I very much appreciate your comment. You're a human, you have feelings, emotions, losses and triumphs. Express them. Crying isn't only for being sad. You're a real human:) you're a real man. A person, man or woman, all have feelings and emotions. Being in control of them, does not mean, being a robot. You're light years ahead of my 50 yr old soon to be not my husband anymore. Keep going, I'm cheering you on 🎉
What I love about Mel Robbins is her insistence on getting the guest to be specific, to give examples, and to repeat important points for the audience. That’s something most interviewers don’t do. She also asks questions I’d ask, if I were there. That’s gold.
She saved him!!!! My father died when I was 11 my mother drank and basically I was on my own I got a job at a pizza place at 13 to pay the bills I will never forget the owner of the pizza place Albert Rossi he fed me drove me home at night so I’d be safe, he was the only adult in my life at that time that cared about me “he saved me” I am forever grateful for him and God for putting him in my life ❤❤
We have an extremely popular pizza place in town. Best pizza in the county and possibly the state. The owner helps handfuls of teenagers by teaching them things they don't learn in school or at home. They are treated with value and respect. This has resulted in the employees taking great care of the business and working well with each other.
@@jackaltv you too? Me too! I had to listen 3x to fathom the absolut deep truth and how it resonates every single time because of his authenticity. A beautiful soul with a gift for teaching. Thank you Mel for having him on your show.
I got a call from a person, who I dated for a very short time, like 15-20 years ago, and this person wanted to thank me for helping him get through this very difficult time he was going through at the time we were dating/hanging out together. At the time I was very serious about my running and I ran over 200 races and trained seriously everyday and I got him to be as serious as I was and he entered and ran races with me, and somehow through all of this hard core training etc it helped him and he called to tell me this, and it really blew my mind in a really good way!
This is funny because this was me yesterday thanking someone who just made it their job to speak to me everyday. I had just moved to a new city and this person lived on my street. Saw me everyday as l walked past their house to the bus stop. Them talking to me helped me stay in the present moment rather than the future. So we had not seen each other since 2020 after first lockdown, we moved to the next street. I sent them a thank you card and letting them know we had moved.
Anyone else want to just give this wonderful man the hugest heart felt hug and say THANK YOU for being you. Thank you for your tenderness, empathy and kindness. Thank you for being a light in the world. And of course all of that for the beautiful Mel. Bless us all in the soup together. 🌻💛🙏
God bless you. God sent me here. I used to listen to Mel a long time ago. I'm still in the worst abuse of my life, stuck in a room with my pet unable to leave or be homeless. Thank you God, Dr. and Mel for this.
I was sobbing through the entire interview. It is rare to encounter an authentic person who is not hesitant to be genuine and express his feelings openly. Thank you, Dr. Doty and Mel Robbins, for showing the world what real people sound and look like.
I was on the edge of my seat through this Podcast. It is rare when someone shares their heart and they are totally sincere. I appreciated every word. Thank you Dr Doty and Mel Robbins.
This. This. This. I'm sobbing too... But kind heartfelt sobs for those of us in the world that allow ourselves to be aware of our pain and those of others. I've always loved the quote "in a world where you can be anything, be kind"... And here on this podcast is two people doing just that, connecting to millions who feel the same. So if you're reading this, wherever you are (I'm in the UK), I'm sending the biggest heart felt hug... Life can feel so challenging but with love, support and kindness, magic can happen 💛
I ran across “Into the Magic Shop” and was truly moved by it. I turned my 25 year old grandson on to it. He was in a difficult time. It changed the course of his life. I will always feel indebted to Dr. Doty. That was five years ago. My grandson is a private chef on the Big Island of Hawaii now, loving his life! Mahalo nui loa from grandma on Maui! 💗
How wonderful for your grandson!!! How wonderful for you for the next everyday of your life too!! You were a catalyst in his turning into his happiness aka success. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
There’s no shame in being an empath cryer, it’s actually a beautiful thing for one to have so much compassion for another. Something this planet needs more.
Indeed. I grew up learning the exact opposite. I don’t know how many times I’ve looked in the mirror and angrily stated, “Stop crying, you’re such a ….” Yes, every word you’d place in the blank. Harsh on purpose. I’ve recently had an occurrence where I balled for nearly FOUR hours!!!!! On fell to my knees with snot bubbles and exhaustion. Yes, four hours with seconds of relief at times. Holy hell. I was so scared. Truly. I cry much more since then and I laugh in between cries bc it feels so great! I must look like a serious lifelong mental patient. Ehhh… what ya gonna do! Ebb and flow…
@ yes let it out. As a female I don’t even see a man less masculine. In southern culture children are told stop crying or I’ll give you something to cry about. I have bipolar 1 and been stable for a number of years but I’ve used many a box of tissue. lol It’s so much healthier to cry it out because it’ll just bury itself in the deep subconscious and can manifest to health problems or anger issues etc.
I wish I felt that way about being a Cryer. It embarrasses me. Television commercials make me cry, babies make me cry, music... forget it, can't even listen to music.
Some years ago I left (divorced) a very toxic relationship, where I just "never measured up". I was repeatedly told how I just was not good enough. I took my 3 children, the cat & dog to start a new life. For many years it was not financially easy...to say the least. Fast forward to today...I am in a better place emotionally & financially. Several times a month I will shop in a neighboring state...a state that has a " toll". I choose not to have a "speed pass" for tolls. I will pay my toll (a whole $1.00) & the toll for the next car through. This is so exciting for me. I never know who that next person is or how my whole dollar helps...it is just a buck. Just my way of saying to another "I love you, who ever you are".
@@OhComeOn88 Yeah. Not really. You don't know if the person you paid for was grateful, or appreciative, or needed the help. If you'd given the dollar to a homeless person or charity, then I'd agree, but it was a blind donation, so we'll never know. But it was a nice gesture. Kudos for that.
This guy is so heart centered. It really shows he is holding back tears most of this interview. I believe that is the key to his successful manifestation. That’s where you want to feel it to manifest not crying due to a feeling of lack, but in “my heart is so full it’s overflowing with tears”
Sometimes it’s a sign he hasn’t dealt with his soul, the part where he needs to dealt with…the emotion. Positive or negative emotions can hinder us in many ways to have our self dealt with.
“People just want to be heard” is the exact thought that has been running through my mind. Nobody, not even your friends and family want to listen to your pain more than once. The “get over it” and “just move on” comments are like daggers to the heart.
And what is sad is those comments of “get over it” and “just move on” generally stem from them not being heard as well. It is an endless cycle that goes on like generational trauma. It’s about breaking that chain. There will always be someone willing to hear us! 🫶🏻
Absolutely, to connect in a deep authentic level with emotions and allowing people to be themselves. I ❤Jim, his heart and being authentic to show how much this means to him. In my upper 50s I am now becoming my authentic self and I love to cry and show emotions now, always stuffed them. I show my soul to others and that really connects to others going through issues. ❤
Can we reword it in a more gentle way by saying, “Let’s create new memories!” “I think you have what it takes to overcome or decrease your negative thoughts that cause a catatonic posture for you.” “Can we suggest books, affirmations, wise words?” It’s saying get over it but not in those words??? Is the sentiment a negative or a positive?? Guess it’s in the mind/behavior of the individual!!!
Thisss yuppp only someone that has been through the same situation can truly understand. It’s so easy to just tell someone to get over it….. i hate when people do that
4 minutes in and I love this guy-how rare to feel the human being in a scientist, doctor, etc. -amazing to think how we would all be with each other if we met and related soul to soul.
Fantastic video My five-year relationship ended a month ago. The decision to part ways with the love of my life is something that truly consumes me. Though it's all in vain, I've tried everything to get him back, and I can't fathom my life with anyone else. Even though I've made every effort to quit thinking about him, I can't help but miss him and can't stop thinking about him. Why I am stating this here is beyond me.
It's hard to say goodbye to someone you love; I experienced this when my 12-year relationship ended. However, I couldn't just let him go; instead, I tried everything to win him back. Eventually, I turned to a spiritual counsellor for assistance, and he was able to help me win him back.
Thank you for this valuable information, i just looked him up now online. impressive Wow I just looked Father Obah Eze on the net he’s very legit thanks once again ❤
I’ve toyed with the idea of becoming a hypnotherapist to help myself and eventually others. What’s the path you took and would you recommend it or change it knowing what you know now?
Mel, I love how you reiterate, and make your guest reiterate what they are saying. This helps my brain understand. And, thank you for saying "I love you" at the end of your show. My heart did a jump when you said that.❤
I love this. I am 53 & grew up working class and over the years we have been fortunate to become financially stable. However, the disconnect between how I thought I would feel when I had money vs how I did feel was profound. Money and things do not make you whole. Your state of mind does that.
This man is incredibly beautiful. The funny thing is, this video appeared at just the right time in my life. I’m feeling completely miserable - I'm still young (33 years old), but it feels like I've failed in nearly every area. I graduated in a field that wasn’t right for me, started a business as an illustrator an 3D artist, but then lost motivation. That business is now basically dead (I still create illustrations, but the money isn’t coming in). I let anger damage my relationships with good people and missed out on other great business opportunities. I smoked too much w, drank too much, and fueled the anger even more, and now I’m at a breaking point. I’m honestly not sure how to keep going. But this video gave me some hope. I want to change and become a better person. I’ll try to reach out to the people I truly care about and connect with them more deeply. I’ll also work on staying quiet during this process-I feel like my words can sometimes be toxic. It’s time to start healing. If you have any advice how to improve myself and people around me, let's talk!
The only thing I can add is that you are powerful regardless if you are being positive or negative, you create your results, and you can create better circumstances, in a way God is pushing you to something greater, maybe you need to help others with what you love to do, maybe you need to start your own business., im in a rut right now, nothing going my way, small money coming in and slowly, yet i have high hopes that things are changing for the better. So keep on and never surrender, don't look for people to give you all the answers, quiet your mind for God is there. 🖖
Hey bro I’m 19 and feel like this. U made me feel better knowing I’m not the only one going thru sum shi. Everything will workout tho, just zoom out for a sec and realize this is just another chapter of your life that u will think back to or prolly forget
Only 6 minutes in and I can relate so much! I'm an empath who has always been highly sensitive. My father was also an alcoholic and was abusive to me, my mother was abusive to me as well. They saw my sensitivity as a weakness, and it's taken until now, aged 44, to see it as a quality to be proud of. I hope that I somehow help others feel seen, heard and that they belong. ❤❤❤
It didn’t matter how many books and RUclips Videos I watched for over ten years, Nothing changed until I was willing to look honestly at who I had become and face my painful experiences from my past. I did this through several 12 Step Programs, positive-self talk and encouragement a solid support system with people from twelve step programs, counseling, Research and inner work. Most importantly I added meditation/self-reflection about a year ago and that’s what I was truly missing… I first had to learn how to love myself, show up for me, heal from my past, and regulate emotions (Emotions Anonymous), before I could show up for my kids and break the cycle of my childhood dysfunction (Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctions). Recovery is A Choice- ❤🧘🏻✌🏻
I like that he didn’t apologize (like most people do) for his tearing up, and I like that Mel doesn’t say “it’s okay” to “comfort” him. I’m going to start doing that on either end
I had a restless night, battling to get some hope and find my way forward in my challenging circumstances.... feeling hopeless and trapped. Then, I clicked on this! I am humbled, moved and suddenly I see the wisdom in this man's words. THANK YOU. I really love the idea of making a difference to someone's life. every day. thanks to him and thanks to Mel for making it possible.
Great topic and the perfect guest to address this. Bless his heart. I just want to hug him. Its wonderful to know that we can turn our lives around with love, positivity and selflessness.
Dr Doty you are amazing & thank you dear Mel for bringing him in ❤ loved every bit of this .. I cry very easily & sometimes feel bad about it.. seeing him crying & sharing vulnerability makes me feel less alone now ❤
This just changed my life 180 today. Made my healing journey feel so much less alone. Finding the courage to connect to people in your life that you have love to is so important, and whenever you have the opportunity to get a chance to rebuild an old bridge with someone, make sure to be yourself and not tone down your positivity because it just feels so good to be loving and to just laugh. I know this makes no sense maybe but I love you so much Mel you are doing God's work here solving generational trauma throughout the world. Bless you and your family❤ love you love you love you love you! (Btw im 18 and its proof that the new generation can learn all this and not have to go through a lifetime of struggle to find a new way of living!!!)
This is a wonderful helpful video. So glad I ran into it. I am looking for work and I receive rejection is daily. I have loss in different aspects of my life. I wish you and others and my self kindness from ourselves and others. 180' would be a change 360' would bring you back to the same
@arte7sol Oh right 🤣 I just thought of that, thanks. I'm sorry to hear about your work going badly 😢, all you can do is try to keep your patience and not give up hope. I'm proud of you for being kind to yourself and I know you can succeed. A mel podcast each day will probably make it a bit better 💗
I wish to encourage you however it's sad that so many people are walking around in trauma and not knowing how to break out of it. It's our culture and we must not blame ourselves. Our conditioning put it into us from the moment of birth. It was in our parents and in theirs. Now we are finding our true selves, before our conditioning made us see ourselves in a bad light.
@deniseward002 YES, truly, we are in such a significant revolution of breaking out of trauma cycles and being more aware! We still have a long road to go but it's big improvement for the world ❤
I feel ya my friend. I grew up in a toxic family. Alcoholic father and undiagnosed autistic bi-polor mother. Once I ran away at 10yo and peeled my bike from Gatlinburg,TN to Alabama somewhere. Took like 3 days. I just had a Forest Gump moment. Anyway, After a life of drug & alcohol abuse my kidneys finally shut down. I laid on the floor of my New Orleans apartment dying. All of a sudden I was looking down at my body. Of course, I lived but everything changed. I was positive we go on after death and we are all connected. We are spiritual beings. I gained a faith I had never had before. All the fear in my life was gone. I quit living in the fight or flight response anymore. This allowed my depression to lift. I started doing meditation & BREATH WORK. WELL,,, About 6 months into these practices I did a guided meditation for 3rd eye chakra and the lid blew off my pineal gland. All of this was a year ago. I listen to the universe and it always tells me "The more good works I do and the less I judge I will manifest good things into my life. That is all I ever ask for. Please let me live my life with gratitude and joy while helping as many I as can. Peace and love y'all
My husband had a cardiac appointment this past Tuesday...I came to this yesterday, (takes a while to keep up with you Mel!) The cardiologist told us about Dr. James Doty and his books on Tuesday, so I picked his first book up from the library on Thursday. Listening to this validates so much work that I have done, and gives me vision for the future. You are an amazing interviewer, by asking such great questions, and he was so authentic and real, that is proved to me that there are good, caring and compassionate people in the world. So grateful that my own questioning of beliefs (from a timeline) and willingness to see things differently has placed me in a whole new place full of possibility and opportunity. #thebodyjoyful
Oh my God, I don't think I've EVER heard/seen/felt such utter vulnerable sincerity from a person before. This is the first episode of your podcast that I've ever seen... The tears in my eyes, streaming down my face each carry the same message: "I'm not alone." Thank you, Mel. ❤
I am under the impression, that traumatic childhood experiences alter the synapses in our brain. Unravelling that hard wiring created during childhood trauma isn't just a matter of setting an intention - at least not in my opinion. These horrific situations (e.g. abuse, abandonment, neglect, alcoholic parents, parents' mental illness, etc) need specific attention to heal. I do hope some Psychologists weigh in on my comment. We literally have to work on healing the hurt, pain and whatever else it caused us so that we can move forward. During my studies in psychology, we were taught these traumatic experiences are in our subconscious and unconscious parts of the brain. The memories and repressed feelings got stored away there as a safety mechanism for childhood survival. I have done lots of personal growth work for 30+ years, sought Counselling, have cried and healed so much, but so much more to heal from, including repressed anger!
I lost my Mother at the age of 5. My father was not very nice to women. He called me worthless for years and i still hear him saying that. It has made me feel not worthy. Thank you for this video.
A child absorbs what’s given to them, and that word should’ve never been directed towards you.. whatever pain and anger he must’ve carried, he wasn’t able to hold it himself and gave it to you, and you took it because you didn’t know better and believed it as truth. But believe me you are so worthy and so beautiful and so capable, you deserve everything you could desire and must believe that for yourself. Reclaim yourself and declare I AM WORTHY and I SPEAK TRUTH OVER MY LIFE 💎🩷
As a kid, i never believed I was smart enough, strong enough, etc. Material things were never important to me as a kid, I wanted acceptance and to be treated well. I have never really had some grand dreams, but i achieved many things in life that were far more than i thought i would ever do, at the same time feeling like an imposter and failure. I still don't have any grand dreams or desires. I most want peace and a life with security and less stress. I feel this video is especially helpful to the young, and sometimes parents should listen to and also share with their children to discuss. Thank you
I have been a fan of your book 'The Magic Shop' doctor, I have read it few times and I still keep rereading it. This book changed my views entirely about life, the impact that you have imparted on me made a vast difference specially in my career as a nurse. I have mastered people skills and through it I have saved patients and still saving who already gave up on living due to their chronic illness. Thank you very much for making me a better person
This interview is the MOTHER of all interviews! I had thought that my being an empath as a form of weakness. I never understood why I had so much empathy for others. I have many takeaways from this content. Life can be heaven on earth, and it starts with unlocking the door to our prison which we had created for ourselves. Practice the techniques to live from a place of self love. Help one person a day feel their worthiness, and feel special. It's okay to want material goods so long as your not expecting the material to define your self-worth. I feel light, and fresh. Thank you to Mel Gibson for asking such amazing questions. Huge thanks to Dr. Doty!
I work as a door greeter, a police officer in civilian clothes stopped to talk one day. He kind of bent over, intently looked me in the face and asked, "What is your name?". I felt it rather odd the way he asked. I told him my name and asked, "Why would you want to know my name?". He replied, "I want to know your name so that you will be seen". That was just a few months ago, I'm 70, no one had ever said such kind words to me.❤
I am a sensitive, empathetic human with severe chronic health issues. I spend most of my time trying to love, support and help others and I recognize the benefits I receive from that, as well. I have reached a place of loving myself, as well. My body is physically in fight or flight due to issues with Lupus, chronic Lyme, mast cell disorder, etc. I am actively working to heal. My question is am I constantly in a battle within my nervous system? Does heart mode override the physical fight-or-flight?
I had a wonderful career. I was able to make people feel safe, calm & feel good about themselves, even if it's just for 1 hr. My job? I am a retired Aesthetician (worked in a big resort spa). Not anything "big". But I felt it was my calling all the way thru me. Now, I'm not able to physically keep up with the pace of the work - I did all kinds of things: body treatments, facials, etc., etc., etc.! Unless you see it, you cannot understand the physicality required! Laying my hands on a body, I was able to show how I cared. Now I'm practicing Reiki for people & animals. I've learned so much about the world beyond us. I still miss the caring touch that I was able to give, because you don't lay hands on a person when using Reiki. I miss my calling!
As a very empathetic being myself i just wanted to say he is amazing. ❤ I have always had big emotions and felt deeply. My heart feels for him and that little boy that woman greeted with a smile and kindness and humanity. I am somone who has had many positive interactions with others and I hope i have impacted them in a positive light with such a small but important gesture of love. ❤ You never know what somone is going through band what battles they are facing. Kindness is free. 😊
OH MY GOD?YES, I COULD HAVE NEVER WORDED THIS THAT GOOD.THANK YOU! ! I always try to look for people that look down-and-out and just ask how they are. People never ask each other how we are anymore!! and it truly means something to someone just to have them. Listen for a couple minutes!! Come on people pull out your humanity lol 🤣 and to all the other empathetic, souls readings love y'all 🤓😘🥹🌻♡
@@michellemcdermott366yes. I look for the opportunity. Always treating people I pass along the way. Helping people in stores that are looking for something. Taking carts back for people at the grocery store. Because why not. I have had a lot of great interactions with others over the years. There are others that talk to me as well. A lot of people are lonely or going through something or maybe having a rough day. And sometimes I am and someone's kindness pulls me out of my own head. It is a powerful thing to spread love to others. Listen to a piece of their story and offer them some of yours. ❤ Humanity is a hopeful place. Far more kindness out there when you look for it or intentionally spread some your self.
@@michellemcdermott366 not sure if you ever saw the movie About Time ( fantastic movie) but there is a bit about noticing the sweetness of life. It's always there. We just don't stop to notice it nearly enough. Definitely watch the movie if you haven't it's about time travel. And love. And family. Brilliantly done. And fun too.
I too am an empathic soul..He is such a beautiful person..I cried as he explained his childhood and felt his emotional state reliving it .. Spending love and light out there...❤❤
The finest exchange imaginable-like two pearls meeting in the ocean’s embrace, leaving only love in their wake. A dialogue as deep as the sea, tender as the moonlight on waves, and profoundly human. It becomes a compass, delicately etched, guiding us to the essence of who we are and the treasure we all seek. Thank you both so much ❤
I needed this. I’ve been listening to sooo many podcasts, I’ve been reading books, but THIS. This struck a chord with me and resonated. I lost my dog three years ago, covid happened and by business failed at 32. My mom passed away 1.5 years ago and I started smoking cigarettes 8 months ago. Like a damn crazed teenager. Ha! I know what I want, I know how to get there but I’m holding myself back out of fearful thinking and self-doubt. When I want to take action and carve out time for my passions, I am overcome with fear about not being good enough and “Who do I think I am to achieve such a massive accomplishment?!” I’ve struggled with confidence my whole life, being the youngest of 4 to two alcoholics. I am strong and have achieved goals I never thought possible before. Why can’t I do it again?! Why not?! I deserve to have happiness and confidence and it’s not selfish or arrogant to do so. It’s the best way I can honor myself, my child, my husband, my existence. I want to save dogs and I will! ✨🤪
Wow, that is a lot. The mere fact that you are here tells me a lot about you. With your outlook you are going to be fine. Go save those doggies, they need you !!!!!
This talk is wonderful. It reminds me of Joe Dispenza’s message, but Dr. Doty is much more palatable for me. As a fellow traumatic childhood survivor, it is always nice to see someone who has overcome that.
Mel, I love your ability to always bring back things to ground level, so more people can relate to your guests in a way that helps us be able to apply their wisdom to our own lives. 💗
This is so true. I thought: when I am a project manager I will feel good about myself, when I have a devoted partner and kids I will feel good about myself, when I have a lot of friends I will feel good about myself, when I have a bigger apartment I will feel good about myself. I did not. I will from now on focus more of helping others but not from guilt, from love.
Loved this. I too came from a childhood of an alcoholic father. The arguing, fighting, and fear of what was going to happen. I made a conscious effort to not raise my child in a home like that and I didn't. I've never been jealous of others, and I thank my mother for that. Thank you for sharing this today. Blessings to you from Texas.
My turning point was when in an assertiveness workshop when the leader told me "You have zero self esteem". While harsh, it made me cut contact with my family of origin and other negative users. The things that then came to me were absolutely incredible. I stopped saying "I'm sorry" and "I'm so stupid" a zillion times a day. It's phenomenal how being happy and loving rather than fearful of the next attack can make a huge difference. I remember my sister saying, when we were about 19/20, "What right have you to be happy?!" while mother laughed. That was 50 years of my life....
I’ve only recently discovered Mel , this really resonated with me . I have always believed you need to put more into the universe than what you take ! When things go wrong look at that balance. Thank you for reminding me.
I came up with this saying yesterday.. Don’t be a victim of your circumstances.. be a master of your circumstances. ❤ So many people don’t master their circumstances. That takes work, courage, and action. ❤
Mind blown! Thank you, Mel and Dr. Dodi. I am 58, I have alway known my childhood beliefs affect what I believe of myself. I have been trying to change those beliefs for 30 years. I love you too, Mel. ❤️
That's always been me until I got debilitating pain and unable to do much of anything I used to do. I feel like dying......I can't go on much longer. There is nothing about my circumstances that I can master
The power of beliefs is super important. I recently made a friend who is extremely negative .... due to their limiting beliefs, they will not even take the actions toward steps that could bring them success. Their limiting beliefs literally limit them from pursuing SO MANY opportunities. Yet they always blame others instead of seeing their own limiting beliefs are holding them back. So at the very least, I can see the benefits of working on affirmations that change your beliefs from negative to positive - how this can have major impacts to your life in a positive way.
Something in my heart always told me love was the answer and many people told me i was daydreaming a fairytale and i eventually stopped believing in my sweet thoughts from the ages of 14 to 29 yrs of age i’m 44 now and let me tell you , i been searching for myself anxiously, through sleepless nights episodes of immense sadness hiding this from the world, I have been searching on line for something that would fulfill me , that gave me what I was searching for, this is no accident I came across your podcast and let me tell you i can’t stop sobbing how beautifully this wonderful doctor explained how to end your suffering , and manifest the life you desire, i’m grateful for human beings like this , Mel and doc just know you have made a difference in someone’s life today, l love you both , blessings.
I watched this the day after the presidential election and it was so helpful to rewire my mind to focus on my heart-center, gratitude, and our purpose to live and be loved. Thank you ❤️
My beautiful husband died suddenly last year. He was the only person I know who could really "see" me, knew me and loved me as I am. I am so lonely. Thanks for this, I realize some medicine for this is listening to and "seeing" others.
5:15 I absolutely love Mel's presence to Dr Doty and her response. Her compassion is evident even the cerebral question was so relevant and drawn from her being so tuned-in to the mind of the heart where she knows Dr Doty's great wisdom pours forth. These are two profoundly humanitarian persons.
what a great episode and what a beautiful human being your guest is! People like him and you are a gift to the world. thank you Mel, we need more thoughtful guests in podcasts to spread hope in the world.
It's getting easier and easier. I'm 73. I began looking for techniques in reprogramming since the 1960s It's helpful, and I'm grateful for another perspective.
The most amazing experience watching this episode! Now I realize how many people love me more than I love myself! Thank you for showing me the way of life. God bless you!🙏❤
Mel... I listen to you the past year.. and all I have to say is that this WAS THE MOST INCREDIBLE episode of all the times!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!
What a beautiful soul Dr. Doty is. I was nearly in tears within the first few minutes as his compassion and empathy are genuinely palpable. As a Christian, I have been interested in manifestation, but reluctant to practice it because of all the woo that he addressed. I loved the simplified concepts of Fear-Mode and Heart-Mode as it made me think of the passage, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”. I’ve also heard it said that anxiety and gratitude cannot exist in the same brain at the same time, which totally resonates with the idea of us living either within our para-sympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems. I couldn’t help to also think of this verse, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” very much the same as bringing the things of our conscious or subconscious minds into the reality of our worlds. Thank you so much for this talk. It means the world to me and I am greatly appreciative. 🙏❤
Thank you for your message. Have not watched the full video but did not want to go against my Christian beliefs to put this into practice. Prayers for everyone here!
Seeing him being so openly emotional, and honest, and authentic, has really inspired me. And for me to break down my walls, and connect with people on an equal basis. I am really thankful I get to feed myself this quality of content. Thank you, Mel! And thank you, Dr. Jim Doty! What a valuable podcast, and podcast episode.
Wow. I picked up this book and realized half way in that it was much more than a story. It's the key to everything. How we relate to others, the gift of oneness, of true connection, and manifestation.
I agree. I was able to make some things happen by living in the "love mode" and really intending for it. I didnt even know all these stuff. All I know was I was really wanting it and was prepared to do what it takes. That involved being open and positive to oppprtunities, embedding that intention and repeating it/being consistent, writing things down, reading and visualizing, changing mindset, building habits and otherwise doing things that took me closer. Not just like sitting there wishing and wanting. Took me about 2-3 years to be where I am right now, and it has been a gradual incline. Some things happened within months, something took a yr, some things didnt work out the way I wanted but opened up pathways to better things such as me losing a job and then changing my entire career path as well as being unemployed for a year and going through many trials.. which pushed me to farther develop myself and change career again and go for something higher....which resulted in a significantly better job and salary increase. Reprogramming, learning and unlearning, starting small, being consistent, focusing on yourself, visualizing on what you need and want, positive self-talk, positive mindset, dedication to self-development, and being open to opportunities and being flexible...and as a believer, building your relationship with God. You just gotta do this.
Sure! Here are some quick tips: 1. Start Small: Just a few minutes daily. 2. Focus on Breathing: Notice your breath. 3. Be Present: Stay in the moment. 4. Body Scan: Feel sensations in your body. 5. Mindful Activities: Practice during daily tasks.
I am here in London listening to this today and want to say thank you for this wonderful interview with Dr Jim Doty. I am looking for work now because my current job contract is finishing in the next 3 weeks so hoping to get a job that will take me through Christmas period and get something permanent so I can complete my exams and get my Masters degree and Accountancy qualification. I turned 50 this year and trying to change my life to be truly happy and healthy and hope to make more than enough to help people. I want to learn more about everything that will enable me to become successful, peaceful and wealthy. It is never too late to start. I send positive thoughts and love to everyone listening and to both Mel Robbins and Dr Jim Doty.
"Become centered in self and not self centered" is one of my take-aways and will remind my kids this. I came to the realization that true change happens from the inside out. It comes from the heart. (heart mode) Forced change either by self or an outside source happens from the outside in. This is not lasting and often creates fear. (fear mode) Mel and Dr. Doty helped me to piece even more of it all together... and frankly reminded me in time I got lost in the weeds of my own life again. I love learning truth because it adds fullness and understanding to the truths already in ones life. Thank you for this!!!!!!
I’m very hard on myself. Since my husband died, I no longer hear “I love you” or “you’re beautiful” anymore, and no longer have his support. It’s a void that hasn’t been filled. When I first got one of your emails and read the last words of affirmation and love, it made me cry.
@@universaltruth2025 I know exactly what you mean and had a husband like that myself. They can be good people but have no "joire de vivre", they walk around like zombies, totally in themselves. I live with people now and one of them is like that but it's a woman. I cannot understand how people can be like that but perhaps there is some kind of brain dysfunction and they cannot help it. I tend to think it is psychological mostly but not saying that's the case in all cases. It must leave you feeling rather empty, I'm sorry about that.
@@universaltruth2025 I am usually for people sticking it out. However he is being abusive. He surely doesn't know it but he is. Perhaps you could start thinking about yourself, get yourself set up and then give him an ultimatum or have a final talk with him. He may need to be shaken into making sense. If he has some kind of abnormality, then he should seek help. However there are far too many men and now women too, with this affliction. It's just thinking for themselves. They have no empathy. But you deserve someone who does have empathy and appreciates you. He may be the one but he may have to be jolted into it.
I am in the UK. I really enjoyed this podcast. It popped up in my feed on a day when I was feeling a bit fed up which isn’t normal for me. I am mostly a positive person. Many years ago I was living and working in a city and I hated it. I had decided very early in my life that I wanted to live in a particular area on the East coast, in the country side. That dream never left me. When I retired I got the opportunity to move to where I wanted to be. Everything fell into place. It took me a while but I got here and I am very happy and thankful for my life.
Thank you so much, Mel, for dedicating your time, life, energy, and love to us, the people. I really needed to hear this today. I cry a lot, and all my life, I have been labelled over sensitive, weak. But I am learning that crying is a beautiful expression...
I've also been in a situation where we lost all of our money plus we're robbed in our business where they stole everything. It didn't worry me I just decided to start again but I must say from that day I felt as though my husband was devastated and it left him uninpowered. I just decided that we have a roof over our head and I can make cheap meals with what we had plus people just gave us food without us asking for it but we had always been kind to others and it rubs off on us but from that day I don't worry about material possessions at all. Family is the most important thing in life.
This is the first video of yours that I've watched. It's taken me more than 2 hours to replay certain parts so I could follow every word that both of you said, and you both presented quite a bit to unpack. With that said, you asked many of the questions that came up for me throughout the interview and that's why it was so extraordinary. I'm going to need to watch it again to understand certain parts and I want to thank you.
Boy did that resonate about having someone just listen to you and recognize you it is so powerful. Trauma throughout your life can make you feel invisible. I feel invisible every day of my life.
I am so sorry because I feel the same way. I was raised in a “war zone.” My parents always threatening to kill me and the hatred they had for me. My ex-husband married me because he thought I was pretty. Not a good reason to marry someone. I can honestly say, that no one has ever loved me. Maybe because I don’t love myself.
It s an honor to see Dr.Duty so touchable and not fearing emotions. I was told of heavy karma etc...by a medium that I would be not human without soul..never felt love would do everything to feel deep compassion and love... Deep down for me to give and receive LOVE is the reason we are here... And love is the ultimative healing force.... If there would be one wish it would be that the whole universe can expierience it. Would be paradise...no war no separation...only loved and loving each other... Love is the answer love is tge key, Love is all we need loving you and me.. God bless you
Oh Mel, thank you do much for this podcast. From very young I have been so emotional about people’s plights and have had people tell me how weak I am because I cry, I’m now 68 and if I had heard this when I was younger my life would have been easier, this man is a true kind soul and everyone needs you and him in their lives.
This was one of the best episodes I've ever watched or listened to. I feel so much more inspired. I understand the spiritual side of manifestation but the neurology side was what I needed. I'll watch this over and over to sharpen my skills. By the way this is my first podcast from Mel and I'll be back for more
I recently started practicing on heart brain coherence and have already felt such a shift towards focus, calm, smiling from within... this conversation felt like it was made just for me at just the right time when I'm so open, so centered, so ready to let go of the past and create from now. Wow. Thank you for sharing this life altering conversation with Dr. Doty with all of us. Thank you.
This is now one of my favourite podcasts - so heartfelt & authentic! Dr Doty is very relatable, such a kind soul & reminded me how important it is to validate each other. ❤
First of all... I LOVE DR. DODY! What a heart-centered man who allows himself to feel so deeply; I wanted to hug him throughout this interview! I love how this is all summed up beyond just manifesting. Pretty much, it's ALL about self-acceptance and love, and . I've been doing energy work and and consciousness coaching for 13 years and this has been my focus... this is from where all HEALING, HAPPINESS, and manifestation starts! GREAT episode! Thank you!
8 minutes in and already love this guy and can feel the kindness in his beautiful soul shining through the screen I don’t know why yet because this is the first time I see him or know who he is but I am looking forward to getting to know him from this episode. Thank you Mel!
Back in 1980 I read a book called "Creative Visualization" by Denning & Phillips. I've used the technique repeatedly over the decades and no one can tell me it doesn't work because now, at the age of 69, I've seen it work time and time again. Oh, and I must be a real weirdo because I've never had negative inner self-talk, not even when I was a kid, and I am quite thankful and grateful for that.
deerhaven..you've never had a loss, a break up, a friendship end, been taken advantage of..told by your child you weren't a perfect parent, etc..never had something set you back and you question your self worth? Good for you..but for me I've been humbled. After years of unwavering confidence.. the last couple of years it's gone-my age showing, the sudden loss of my son (unknown heart issue) lost interest in my job, barely working...I have been brought to my knees. I better keep listening and get my hands on that book. To everyone out there suffering..keep trying..like Nemo says..keep swimming. Ty
@@TraceyBillsHomes I am so sorry for the loss of your son. Yes, of course, I've had my own fair share of losses over the decades (widowed at 33 after 11 years of marriage among many other setbacks). What I'm saying is that whenever something tragic has happened I've always been able to tell myself, after a few months of going through the grief and emotional pain, that something better is up ahead. I have always truly believed that and I feel it's pulled me through. Thank you for your comment.
@@deerhaven3350 I too am sorry for your loss. I'm not there yet, I guess. Love your positivity...and its hard not to feel I could have done something more..and that chips away at self worth.
@@TraceyBillsHomes Thank you, Tracey. You know most people do everything they can to the best of their ability at any given moment. To me you sound like someone who's heart is in the right place. I wish you all the best.
I love the kind side of people, it's so powerful. Dr. Doty seems so tuned with his emotions it's making me emotional. Sometimes I forget that we create our own mind patterns through thoughts. And it takes a little effort to shift to the desired pattern at first, but after a few times and practice, it actually works. I managed to change a negative connotation of a thought to a positive one and with time, the negative connotation stopped coming to mind. Thank you for such great content Mel, it always helps me to get back on track to the good feelings in life.
Key takeaways:
1. Our purpose is to live with one another. Connect with people.
2. Live on a love mode. Remove yourself from a fear mode.
3. Use all sensory organs to embed thoughts to create your narrative of your story (change default negative mode network)
4. Tasks positive networks (salient-important to you) activates your attention
4. Not let negative self talk. Understand it’s how humans are wired. Become self-aware. Accept your shadows. Separate yourself from it.
5. Have compassion for yourself.
6. Understanding what you want from want you need. Chase purpose and meaning.
7. See the world with a lens of possibilities. Be appreciative.
8. Find a calm place. Shift from fear mode to heart mode. All of us deserve second chances.
9. Don’t be attached with the outcome. Be patient and grateful.
10. Create the right mindset by meditation. Breathing exercises. Write the things you are thankful for and the things you want to manifest.
Be authentic. Be present.
Thank you for outlining this 😀
Needed this. Thank you so much❤

Someone smiled at me ❤
And what a place to find smiles...I live in Dublin and find it a place filled with beauty, kindness and surprise.

I was going to say the same...strip it all down for understanding.

We have an extremely popular pizza place in town. Best pizza in the county and possibly the state. The owner helps handfuls of teenagers by teaching them things they don't learn in school or at home. They are treated with value and respect. This has resulted in the employees taking great care of the business and working well with each other.
Blessings to Albert Rossi and to you.

Or maybe he wants to get laid and used that as an excuse to contact you. That’s also a possibility
Anyone else want to just give this wonderful man the hugest heart felt hug and say THANK YOU for being you. Thank you for your tenderness, empathy and kindness. Thank you for being a light in the world. And of course all of that for the beautiful Mel. Bless us all in the soup together. 🌻💛🙏

I was sobbing through the entire interview. It is rare to encounter an authentic person who is not hesitant to be genuine and express his feelings openly. Thank you, Dr. Doty and Mel Robbins, for showing the world what real people sound and look like.

Me too, sobbed the whole time

This. This.
A little kindness goes a long way. The world needs more people who are truly kind and actually listen.
So true ☺️
Be one!
There's always been truth to this but this video brings a whole new meaning to it!
So very true!
I wouldn't call scamming gullible and desperate people kindness.
Agreed.
I don’t think Mel understands.
Thanks for not abandoning your pets even though you were suffering. I wish you good fortune😇😇😇
This doesn't really apply to this video. But I wish you well.
@@PF-RULES you misunderstand, it completely applies; it is the example of compassion for another person.
Yesss thank you so much I'm in the process as well more power to you.
This guy is so heart centered. It really shows he is holding back tears most of this interview. I believe that is the key to his successful manifestation. That’s where you want to feel it to manifest not crying due to a feeling of lack, but in “my heart is so full it’s overflowing with tears”
YES! This^^^ ✌️🫶😊
😮
It’s so easy to just tell someone to get over it….. i hate when people do that
and seen...
This man is so touching. I cried with him when he said "I know what it's like to be hungry".

I felt it was weak to be tender or called sweet too because it seems out of the norm. But it is strength.
I discovered that I’m an HSP at 54 years old. My life makes so much sense now 💙
I'm right there with you at age 62! It's never too late.
❤
I am an HSP also, I’m with you all!
Dr.Doty is one of the most beautiful souls in this world. Such a pure hearted human. He gives me hope .
Most importantly I added meditation/self-reflection about a year ago and that’s what I was truly missing…
I first had to learn how to love myself, show up for me, heal from my past, and regulate emotions (Emotions Anonymous), before I could show up for my kids and break the cycle of my childhood dysfunction (Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctions).
Recovery is A Choice-

I like that he didn’t apologize (like most people do) for his tearing up, and I like that Mel doesn’t say “it’s okay” to “comfort” him. I’m going to start doing that on either end
❤❤❤❤❤
Yes!! Exactly no need to apologize for showing genuine human emotion.
I love it when men cry. And I tell them that. Seriously. It shows that they are still emotionally available and able to be vulnerable.
@@actionforanimals4862 I agree and actually when you think about it, it really takes a lot of courage to be openly vulnerable in this manner
Thank you for being here while I cry
I had a restless night, battling to get some hope and find my way forward in my challenging circumstances.... feeling hopeless and trapped. Then, I clicked on this! I am humbled, moved and suddenly I see the wisdom in this man's words. THANK YOU. I really love the idea of making a difference to someone's life. every day. thanks to him and thanks to Mel for making it possible.

I was thinking the SAME THING!!
Name of book
180' would be a change
360' would bring you back to the same
@arte7sol Oh right 🤣 I just thought of that, thanks.
We still have a long road to go but it's big improvement for the world ❤
You’re doing great! Keep up the good work!
You've got a good doctor if he referred you here. My GP is crap.
Oh my God, I don't think I've EVER heard/seen/felt such utter vulnerable sincerity from a person before. This is the first episode of your podcast that I've ever seen... The tears in my eyes, streaming down my face each carry the same message:
"I'm not alone."
Thank you, Mel.
I am sorry for the loss of your dear mother and that you had such a challenging upbringing. I hope that you know you ARE worthy. 🌺🌺🌺🌼🌼🌼
You are a precious irreplaceable diamond that is needed in this world. You always have been.
This was very valuable to you to hear :D Me too
@@djw8591it has nothing to do with you! It's not true! He has the problem!
Doty!
Agree. Her “passion” was very evident throughout her interview 😂
Passion is of Satan. This interview was a waste of time. This guy is beta and weak.
Awe the beginning broke my heart and I can relate at 64 💙. We all just want to be truly seen.
That is so true!
That was just a few months ago, I'm 70, no one had ever said such kind words to me.❤
@@chaserofthelight484 that is so nice!

Good luck to you!
This man touches hearts. His tears and soul also made me cry. What a wonderful man.
I am emotional person. When you two got emotional. It makes me feel , I am not alone.❤
Me too
This was me too. Happy healing 😢❤
It is a daily challenge, even when you are significantly, acutely aware of it!
This is a good reminder :
Be happy and loving, rather than fearful of the next attack. ❤️
Totally agree.
I just wrote this down, thank you.
Thanks SO MUCH! Manifestation does not mean or synonym visualization goals thinking 😢
I played this over and over to make sure i didn't miss a word. Talk about tying everything together. We are the universe.❤

I love this man, I’ve read his book, “Into the Magic Shop,” 3 times and have cried every time. He is amazing. Thank you for this interview.
Sure! Here are some quick tips:
1. Start Small: Just a few minutes daily.
2. Focus on Breathing: Notice your breath.
3. Be Present: Stay in the moment.
4. Body Scan: Feel sensations in your body.
5. Mindful Activities: Practice during daily tasks.
The "Sure!" indicates AI. 😊

Understanding is a bit of a trap vs accepting what is or "being". How many words does a baby need before it loves?
I’m very hard on myself. Since my husband died, I no longer hear “I love you” or “you’re beautiful” anymore, and no longer have his support. It’s a void that hasn’t been filled. When I first got one of your emails and read the last words of affirmation and love, it made me cry.
I love that Mel is making, I love you and I believe in you, a norm!

Yes, Family is everything!
Beautiful. Thanks

Sending you visibility that others may see your worth and appreciate you and that you feel blissed.

Love is the answer love is tge key,
Love is all we need loving you and me..
Can't thank you enough Mel for bringing this podcast in ❤ you don't know how many lives you have changed! Loads of best wishes 💐
This doctor has seen and experienced the difficulties 😊 He must be so compassionate and loving. God bless him more and more 😊
This was one of the best episodes I've ever watched or listened to.
Thank you.
This is the most logical approach that I have watched on manifesting. MINDSET.
What a wonderful guest Mel, loved the Doctors ability to explain simply to us and his sensitivity and added humour . So enjoyable
It's 6am where I am and this came out four hours ago! It's to be starting my morning with this podcast. Thank you Mel and Dr. Jim!!!
I love it!
deerhaven..you've never had a loss, a break up, a friendship end, been taken advantage of..told by your child you weren't a perfect parent, etc..never had something set you back and you question your self worth?
Idk why i just love Mel🫂i feel connected to her♥️
Love from India😌
