      @@TheSteamLocomotive I'd have to see there performance on longer shots before making that decision. Both accuracy and terminal performance at at least 50 yards or further. Also curious if they have standard 2-3/4 inch versions of the same load.

      Unless you're insane or have a serious criminal record, you shouldn't be rejected for a Firearms Certificate. More of a problem is we can't shoot on public land in the UK like they can in the US, so unless you own a fair bit of land, you can only shoot at a gun club. They might not take too kindly to you shooting random crap like TFM does.

      Exit wounds are typically more interesting in general, I think. The entrance tends to just poke a hole with most projectiles/targets. More interesting is being able to see the external ballistics, which you can from both sides (remembering that a checker-board pattern on the rear of a slug won't be visible from the front, of course).

    People like to virtue signal these days about "RUclips comment section's being toxic" This is basically code for "We won't interact with/like the opinions ,humor and bad behavior of the lower classes".
    I may not like everything said but it's better than these "gated social community's" that more and more are becoming echo chambers and that purge decent, comedy and lots of basic human behaviors.
    People appreciate the interaction, keep up the good work~

      I can agree with the toxic part because it doesn't take much for a comment section to fill with name calling and pointless swearing / derogatory remarks. These days it's guaranteed to happen on political topics, but you see it everywhere with raging favoritism over vehicle and electronic brands.... It's not too hard to find a hateful comment "hoping someone has to watch their mother die in a crash" over a brand preference. Its absolutely insane in so many ways. I'm glad there is civility here! And to clarify I can't stand the over the top sensitivity people have either... Always finding a way to be offended. That content doesn't offend me, it's just disgusting that people think that low of one another.

    I've always wondered about shooting a ball projectile like that. Thank you for sating that curiosity. However, as I was watching, all I could think is "what if it had been pitted like a golf ball?" Do you think that would make any difference? I've been told that the pitting in golf balls actually makes them way more aerodynamic, I remember seeing a Mythbusters where they golf ball pitted a car, and it did in fact increase the aerodynamics of the car. Question is, how would one make such a slug?

    • @taofledermaus
      @taofledermaus  7 лет назад +5

      I'm hoping someone can make something like that

    • @LeGrandSarrazin
      @LeGrandSarrazin 7 лет назад

      Well, to answer how, I think it would only take casting/acquiring a lead ball/slug and dimple the surface with a drill press. It'd take a lil time, but it's doable.

    • @MrS22222
      @MrS22222 7 лет назад

      Someone mold a golfball and get on it. I'm curious if lead would hold that shape being pushed out of a barrel.

    • @windhelmguard5295
      @windhelmguard5295 7 лет назад +1

      it most certainly wouldn't be easy, to do that to a slug, without throwing it way off balance, some highly precise tools would be necessary.
      it would also be dificult to put a spin on them due to the weakened surface, you might experience more filing when shooting through a rifled barrel.

    • @LeGrandSarrazin
      @LeGrandSarrazin 7 лет назад +2

      While I never claimed it'd be easy, the first solution that comes to mind would be a sabot/sleeve to overcome the surface variation.
      I don't focus on reasons why something won't work. Where there's a will, there's a way.

      Other people have mentioned it before. He doesn't like the idea of breathing in the slug mist after firing it. Can't say I blame him.

    The sad ballistic gel looked pretty bruised, I felt kind of sorry for it. Great video as always Jeff, very informative and also I love the diversity of the targets.
