I think Epic as an animated film would be amazing. Especially since you could keep the original cast for VAs without worrying about aging or things like that.
When EPIC does eventually get an adaptation, particularly an on stage or film adaptation, I would love to see weather or not the musical stays fully and exclusively sung through or if dialogue would be added to enhance the story. It would be really cool to get dialogue from the characters but also if it stays just the songs the experience of this amazing music the entire time would incredible too.
I think people have asked, and Jorge said it would be entirely sung-through. But the exchanges we DO get are surprisingly well acted and written! They sound like natural extensions of the scenes. I’d really love to hear a non song-through version, especially because we could get off-screen interactions and meet characters who weren’t able to get songs!
We would however need something to tie the moments together.the ocean saga flows together quite well, but the Troy saga for example, between the songs Just a man and full speed ahead, don't transition too well, it's fine in song but in action whether animated or not would be too abrupt.
I mean...short of some very different skin tones that wouldn't be in positions they are in for ancient Greece, mostly looking at Eurylochus but we live in a progressive world so that hardly matters, from the snippets we have seen of the actors, most everyone should fit their characters for a live action telling of the story. The main issue that would come across is people who play multiple characters would need to have their non-main characters replaced, or cleverly have the actors green screened in for scenes they share and have INSANE make up and wardrobe done so that its not obviously the same person

There were definitely black people in Ancient Greece lmao. In fact, if anyone is unrealistic, it’s Athena’s actress- red hair was extremely rare back then because it’s mostly a Scottish and Irish trait, and until the romans there was relatively little contact and very little migration between the British isles and continental Europe.

We know this. Everyone knows this. I'm not saying it's right. It shouldn't have been that way, but that would have been the way.

Maybe its all the super talented animatics, but honestly I feel only the creative liberation animation offers can ever capture the full scope of the story that these sagas tell. I always imagine the story playing out in that kind of format

Perhaps we could see an Iliad musical???? Achilles, Patroclus, Hector, Paris, Helen, Odysseus, Diomedes, Ajax the Greater, Agamemnon, Menelaus, all great characters with stories to tell, each could have their own saga that all converge with the final saga.

My sister and I were talking about possible mediums for Epic, and I think it'd be fun to do a stage production, but have the gods be holographic projections like at Hatsune Miku concerts. Imagine Athena growing and shrinking in time depending on the scene and lyric. It'd be....well, Epic!
OOH I love that! Combining the fighting aspect with the music! Imagine a monster/god appears for you to fight alongside their song, but to win, you have to strike at a specific rhythms!
Ever since my first listen-through, I've pictured Epic as a lovechild of a musical and a choral performance, with a large setpiece of the trojan horse which unfolds at the beginning to become the boats of Odysseus' fleet, then recombine as he loses his men and have fewer and fewer ships, until he sails into the underworld with just one whole ship, straight on towards the audience, who have become the river styx.
The idea of Athena in a jeep racing against hades in a Subaru is hilarious But I think epic would work better in a god of war type game in my opinion regardless I’m excited for the future of it too
My one hope for Epic is that all the people making amazing animatics get the opportunity to work on an official animated version. So many of them have done amazing jobs bringing the songs to life that I think they definitely deserve the chance to go all out.
Hi, I’m returning once again with a little note that if Epic becomes a broadway show, our junior thespian society will let kids compete with songs from Epic It would be so cool to see a kid sing Monster or Just a Man at showcase. That is my main reasoning as to why it would be even more amazing as a show on Broadway

I have an entire vision in my head for traditional staging every time I listen to the album, I see it on stage. Complete with some staging, set, and projections. It would be a simpler set and projections and lighting would be the most important on top of the sound design you already created. It was a little sad to hear that you don’t see it as a traditional show. I was hoping one day to have an Epic Jr. to do with my middle school theatre students.
EPIC could do so well with any form of adaptation but I, personally, like the idea of it being an animated film. It would let you keep the original audio for the songs. Either way, I can't wait for the future of EPIC!
I see these ideas but I could also see EPIC as a choose your own adventure game, where you go through and try making it home like Odysseus with different endings on how you could get killed or something. I LOVE THE IDEA OF A YU-GI-OH CARD GAME FOR THIS YES!!! One of my favorite games turned into EPIC would be SO COOL!!!!!!
If you decide to make Epic as an animated film, I recommend looking for a smaller independent studio. Any place that's bigger, you risk losing creative control or having the project scrapped for no good reason. Also, you already have an army of artists (including me) willingly making animations to the music, so you could easily just round all of us up to help out.

I would have imagined EPIC to be a 2-in-1 kind of thing too.. a game like an RPG side scroller (like Gris) or an interactive visual novel with choice based matters where there will be a butterfly effect along with the animated cutscenes 😍 i can imagine side scroller 2D game (maybe similar to the mageseeker!!) and you enter a boss stage to fight the gods.. but I also love TCG card games! Maybe similar to rogue-like aspects like Hades or slay the spire.

When Epic is done. You can just make a contest to whatever you just said. Where pretty much everyone has approximately 1 year to make an ENTIRE FULL version of Epic the Musical. This will open up having people collaborating, creating an entire piece on stage, or a video game about it where the music plays each scene with AI vocal lines of each of the singers (going by the ORIGINAL Oddeyeus script but modernized; and the songs coincide with it)
I wanna see Epic as a Heartslike game (basically a game that plays like Kingdom Hearts). I know the series inspired a lot of Epic's story and music, so having a game where you play as Odysseus in that style would be awesome

I would die for a live action or animated version of Epic. I'm more towards the live action, mostly because the cast really looks like they can portray the roles in person perfectly! But i'm fine with anything. I'm literally telling everyone I know about it, and they love it now too.

I hope I can get it published to spread the word about this amazing musical just as you are spreading happiness and passion with those videos. Your smile is very contagious. I love the music and Ruthlessness was my most listened to song in the beginning of this year even though I tried to avoid it to not get sad and depressed about it. You create great music and as great atmosphere on your channel.

I can also see someone asking if they can turn it into a play (like I can most definitely see that, when Odisius tells Cerisis that she turned them into pigs, I can most definitely see her just pan to the audience and does that “hah” and then goes back to Odisius and sings her line, like that would be so perfect)
EPIC? ANIMATED? YES PLEASE!! I can also see EPIC being a REALLY good RPG game- you play as Odysseus trying to get back home, with each major “struggle” Odysseus goes through in the musical becomes the “quests” of the game. I would totally pay to play the RPG version of EPIC if it ever happens :)
This is so much bigger than I could have ever possible imagined- I pictured the end goal as to being a show on Broadway. But it is so refreshing to see how many different avenues this show could take in the mind of a creative that just wants to make as much of their art as possible in a way that isn’t perfectly linear. I love the idea of an animated film, seeing all the animatics really puts me in that mindset. But I’m so intrigued by that racing game idea, maybe the picture will me clearer when the whole saga is complete but man that sounds so cool!

I really love this project, it got me since the first saga. And I really think that the animated format would be the best option for EPIC, besides many artists have already made beautiful animatics like gigi or AnniFlamma. Or equally a live presentation would be spectacular, excited to see what the future holds for this great project.

Ever thought about the Sphere in Vegas? Full surrounding of LED wall that could create locations, waves, giant monsters that fight. I can imagine ruthlessness with the wall doing all the boats being destroyed while Poseidon and Odysseus are on the ship in stage watching all the boats broken to bits. That would be a sight!
Oooh if it was made into a card game you could have a certain lyric pertaining to a character at the bottom of the card, kind of like how movie lines or lyrics are on the bottom of Lorcana cards! I'd also really love to see Epic on stage. The things you could do and the opportunities for choreography sound so exciting!

I just wrote the same thing on insta: Now I am stuck with the idea of a video game. But I see it as a Fantasy-Action Roleplay. We have that fixed storyline as a quest with all those Boss fights, there is a whole map of the Odyssee in the mediterranean sea, which would be so cool for open world play. There could be a Arena where you can let gods and bosses battle against each other in Group play mode - totally stuck on the card game idea here - get the card, once the god/monster has been encountered in the story and use it in the arena. And you could take it even further and have a crossover with the Iliad as side quests (which would mean even more underworld exploring, Karthago, Latium - how cool is that). And since we have Hades' and Poseidons kingdoms, there must be a way to put Olympus in too. (Another fun thing would be, if you could collect mythology pieces of some sort and if you find all pieces you get a side quest in lets say the Europa saga - with those pieces one could explore the history or even future of gods and human heros). I would die to work on such a game, though I only know how to write storys and plots. And I would die to play a game like this, especially if you get more out of it, than just the Odyssee but the whole epic greek mythology experience. I'd be obsessed!

I would love to see a collaboration with Jay and Rick Riordan (author of the Percy Jackson book series). Especially because season two of the percy jackson show is in the works, and the second book in the series focuses very heavily on the story of Odysseus and the Odessy as a whole, so I think it would be really cool to see Mr. Jalapeño as Odysseus in the show. (He would also be a fit for Apollo. I'm not too picky)
Hello Jorge, I absolutely love these ideas especially an animated film (hopefully with the Original VA) and a video game (that would be an instant success). But I do have a question for you, after the epic is done, what is the next story you would want to do? The Iliad or Heracles 12 Labours? Maybe venture into Norse myth and tell the story of Ragnarok or maybe even go to Egypt and tell the story of Horus and his tragedy. Hopefully you see this, because I do believe you would be absolutely amazing in creating these stories and ideas. All the best with the Thunder Saga 😂

I have an entire vision in my head for traditional staging every time I listen to the album, I see it on stage. Complete with some staging, set, and projections. It would be a simpler set and projections and lighting would be the most important on top of the sound design you already created.
It was a little sad to hear that you don’t see it as a traditional show. I was hoping one day to have an Epic Jr. to do with my middle school theatre students.
EPIC could do so well with any form of adaptation but I, personally, like the idea of it being an animated film. It would let you keep the original audio for the songs. Either way, I can't wait for the future of EPIC!

I see these ideas but I could also see EPIC as a choose your own adventure game, where you go through and try making it home like Odysseus with different endings on how you could get killed or something. I LOVE THE IDEA OF A YU-GI-OH CARD GAME FOR THIS YES!!! One of my favorite games turned into EPIC would be SO COOL!!!!!!

If you decide to make Epic as an animated film, I recommend looking for a smaller independent studio. Any place that's bigger, you risk losing creative control or having the project scrapped for no good reason.
Also, you already have an army of artists (including me) willingly making animations to the music, so you could easily just round all of us up to help out.

I would have imagined EPIC to be a 2-in-1 kind of thing too.. a game like an RPG side scroller (like Gris) or an interactive visual novel with choice based matters where there will be a butterfly effect along with the animated cutscenes 😍 i can imagine side scroller 2D game (maybe similar to the mageseeker!!) and you enter a boss stage to fight the gods.. but I also love TCG card games! Maybe similar to rogue-like aspects like Hades or slay the spire.

When Epic is done. You can just make a contest to whatever you just said. Where pretty much everyone has approximately 1 year to make an ENTIRE FULL version of Epic the Musical. This will open up having people collaborating, creating an entire piece on stage, or a video game about it where the music plays each scene with AI vocal lines of each of the singers (going by the ORIGINAL Oddeyeus script but modernized; and the songs coincide with it)

I wanna see Epic as a Heartslike game (basically a game that plays like Kingdom Hearts). I know the series inspired a lot of Epic's story and music, so having a game where you play as Odysseus in that style would be awesome
I think Epic could also work as a VR game, either as an action games with musical intermissions or a Rythm game

I would die for a live action or animated version of Epic. I'm more towards the live action, mostly because the cast really looks like they can portray the roles in person perfectly! But i'm fine with anything. I'm literally telling everyone I know about it, and they love it now too.

I hope I can get it published to spread the word about this amazing musical just as you are spreading happiness and passion with those videos. Your smile is very contagious. I love the music and Ruthlessness was my most listened to song in the beginning of this year even though I tried to avoid it to not get sad and depressed about it. You create great music and as great atmosphere on your channel.

Having Epic as a film would be amazing! I can also see someone asking if they can turn it into a play (like I can most definitely see that, when Odisius tells Cerisis that she turned them into pigs, I can most definitely see her just pan to the audience and does that “hah” and then goes back to Odisius and sings her line, like that would be so perfect)

I can also see EPIC being a REALLY good RPG game- you play as Odysseus trying to get back home, with each major “struggle” Odysseus goes through in the musical becomes the “quests” of the game. I would totally pay to play the RPG version of EPIC if it ever happens :)

This is so much bigger than I could have ever possible imagined- I pictured the end goal as to being a show on Broadway. But it is so refreshing to see how many different avenues this show could take in the mind of a creative that just wants to make as much of their art as possible in a way that isn’t perfectly linear. I love the idea of an animated film, seeing all the animatics really puts me in that mindset. But I’m so intrigued by that racing game idea, maybe the picture will me clearer when the whole saga is complete but man that sounds so cool!
I can’t wait till it fully comes out! I would love to see it even in a broadway setting and then released as a show every one can do. I would beg my theater company to do 😂

I really love this project, it got me since the first saga. And I really think that the animated format would be the best option for EPIC, besides many artists have already made beautiful animatics like gigi or AnniFlamma.
Or equally a live presentation would be spectacular, excited to see what the future holds for this great project.

Ever thought about the Sphere in Vegas? Full surrounding of LED wall that could create locations, waves, giant monsters that fight. I can imagine ruthlessness with the wall doing all the boats being destroyed while Poseidon and Odysseus are on the ship in stage watching all the boats broken to bits. That would be a sight!
Oooh if it was made into a card game you could have a certain lyric pertaining to a character at the bottom of the card, kind of like how movie lines or lyrics are on the bottom of Lorcana cards!
I'd also really love to see Epic on stage. The things you could do and the opportunities for choreography sound so exciting!

I just wrote the same thing on insta: Now I am stuck with the idea of a video game. But I see it as a Fantasy-Action Roleplay. We have that fixed storyline as a quest with all those Boss fights, there is a whole map of the Odyssee in the
mediterranean sea, which would be so cool for open world play. There could be a Arena where you can let gods and bosses battle against each other in Group play mode - totally stuck on the card game idea here - get the card, once the god/monster has been encountered in the story and use it in the arena. And you could take it even further and have a crossover with the Iliad as side quests (which would mean even more underworld exploring, Karthago, Latium - how cool is that). And since we have Hades' and Poseidons kingdoms, there must be a way to put Olympus in too. (Another fun thing would be, if you could collect mythology pieces of some sort and if you find all pieces you get a side quest in lets say the Europa saga - with those pieces one could explore the history or even future of gods and human heros). I would die to work on such a game, though I only know how to write storys and plots. And I would die to play a game like this, especially if you get more out of it, than just the Odyssee but the whole epic greek mythology experience. I'd be obsessed!

Man can you imagine Flying Bark Studios working on Epic? It would be SO GOOD. (They animated the first four seasons of Lego Monkie Kid, ROTTMNT and they’re doing avatar the last airbender rn! It would be awesome to see them work on a serious, adult film!)

I would love to see a collaboration with Jay and Rick Riordan (author of the Percy Jackson book series). Especially because season two of the percy jackson show is in the works, and the second book in the series focuses very heavily on the story of Odysseus and the Odessy as a whole, so I think it would be really cool to see Mr. Jalapeño as Odysseus in the show. (He would also be a fit for Apollo. I'm not too picky)

Hello Jorge, I absolutely love these ideas especially an animated film (hopefully with the Original VA) and a video game (that would be an instant success).
But I do have a question for you, after the epic is done, what is the next story you would want to do? The Iliad or Heracles 12 Labours? Maybe venture into Norse myth and tell the story of Ragnarok or maybe even go to Egypt and tell the story of Horus and his tragedy.
Hopefully you see this, because I do believe you would be absolutely amazing in creating these stories and ideas.

man I'm just imagining EPIC as a point-and-click adventure a-la the Monkey Island series! Odysseus wandering around, finding easter eggs and solving puzzles, all while trying to get back home to Ithaca and avoiding certain death with Poseidon?? I'd play the HECK outta that.
