I did both, :)
Looks and sounds yummy, can't wait to try this !
Beverly, that looks delish and really takes me back to my childhood. My grandfather grew a huge garden on his farm, and he would always make a massive big pot of this Goulash late in the summer in one of his big cast iron outdoor kettles, just to use up the last of what was growing in his garden, tomatoes, onions, peppers etc. He even added zucchini in his, just because he grew it lol. He would also boil water in another kettle, and we grandkids would husk sweet corn and cook in it. Then he would have the whole family for dinner to eat it all up. Every drop usually got cleaned up too! Good summer memories, and a great dish. I will have to make a pot myself and think of my Grandfather!
Wonderful memories and thank you for sharing!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Beverly, my Mom made this when my sisters and I were little. In new England it was called American chop suey. I made it just a week ago. I live alone now, so there's plenty. I take half and freeze it. The leftovers taste even better. Love you Nannie Annie
Hello Nannie Annie, it is so good after you bring out the freezer those flavors work well together
have a blessed day!
@loisann758 - I’m from New England too, and my mom made it for my sisters and myself when we were kids. My sister recently came to visit and made it when she was down. It had been quite a few years. We always called it chop suey.
Do you freeze the pasta 2 or just the sauce
My mom called it that too! Delicious
Also from New England, Mom made this at least once a week. Pure comfort food. Also great with venison.
We had this a lot when I was a kid and even in the school cafeteria. Nothing better with some garlic bread😊
Yesssss
That brings back many memories as we had that two to three times a week when I was growing up I'm 76 years old and we did not have much then but to me goulash was like being in heaven
I am 72 Jerry and I still love it, so full of love and memories.
I grew up on this and I'm going to make this tomorrow for my 90 years of age mom! Thank you for bringing back the memories.
You are so welcome!
You would be a perfect neighbor. Not just for your food, mainly because of your kind demeanor and love I felt from your voice. May God Bless you and your family!!!!
Thank you so much, your words blessed my soul.
My mother made this when my brothers and I were little and growing up in the 60's and 70's..she just called it beef macaroni, but I later learned it was called American chop suey, and just about everybody's mom had a version of this and just about every baby boomer grew up with this for school lunches and quick week night dinners. Its sooooo good...😊
It is a family tradition 😃
Thank you for this video. Reminds me of things we used to eat in the late 60's and early 70's. It was good then and still is now.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you Beverly, this was delicious and yet so easy. We added a tablespoon of sugar to stabilize the acid taste.
Sounds good, so glad that you enjoyed it!
Instead of adding sugar, my mother used to add a little ketchup.
Your voice is as comforting as your recipes. It's soft and quiet, not hyper, like other cooks. Thank you.
😊 thank you
This is the best thing to cook when you just want to keep it simple but also to feed your family and get them nice and full❤ I love it
Absolutely!!👍🏾
Goulash is a classic and inexpensive - feeds many. Love it.
Yes it does!
I am so glad it is 2023 and times have changed.
This Brings back Sooo Many Memories! My Mom used to make this for us. Oh man I Miss my Mom so much. ❤
You are so welcome!
Ma'am no need to correct yourself we know exactly what you mean. Been looking for a simple inexpensive
goulash recipe. Thank you.
You are so welcome ❤️
Exactly how I make it. It's an inexpensive family favorite! In New England we call it American chop suey. A friend of mine uses the diced tomatoes, broth and worstershire sauce sauce... gives it a beefy flavor. Good that way too!
Sounds good 😌
I love the way you cook! No little dishes all measured out. "Gonna put in two cups. Nope! Gonna pour in the whole box!" 😅 Thats how i cook too 😊 new subscriber. God bless you too ❤
😊 thank you
This looks delicious! My grandmother made this dish back in the 50's! What great memories you have given me. (She also added those button mushrooms that came in a jar? I guess that was her own touch? ) 60 years ago! Wow!
Hello Susan, I love the memories, we like mushrooms in it to, but my grandson doesn't like them, so I left them out when I made this pot, be blessed my friend!
Hey Sis this looks so delicious. I too can remember this as a child but I never knew the name. Thank you for sharing and God bless you!
You are so welcome, this is a very old childhood favorite, before hamburger helper lol.
Hello Beverly!.oh my goodness I have been looking for this old school recipe for months. My sister and I wanted so we could make it. You see my mom use to make it and it was so good. We couldn't ask our mom as she is in heaven with Jesus. Maybe cooking for him. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear and Special Friend. 👍💚🦉
I am so happy I was able to bless you with this recipe Joan, you and your sister enjoy it and make your mother proud of you two, which I feel she was, much love and blessings to you!
that was awesome, one of my favorite things is goulash just like you made it but the blessing you sent out at the end was the best part of this video, God Bless you and your family in the name of Jesus Christ

I just came upon your videos... Mmm goulash is my favorite... I love your videos.. Comfort food at its finest...... In drooling
I am so happy that you enjoyed the video!
7:50 - Instead of creating another dish to wash, use the tomato sauce can to measure out the beef broth. It also gets the sauce remnants.
Thank you for the tip, I love it!
I was looking for a recipe because I always have these ingredients on hand. This will be my 'go to'! Thank you...
You are so welcome!
My mother made this very similar! Loved it! We ate it with peanut butter sandwiches. Weird I know but it was so good! Thanks for sharing!

This is the first time I’ve seen your videos. I was into you cooking this delicious looking goulash and all of a sudden I was this silver thing light up and make noises over your pot, I died laughing because I thought at first it was a little vacuum cleaner 😂 I guess you can tell I am not up to date with kitchen gadgets, I still use my old Tupperware salt and pepper shakers. I’m enjoying your video and you now have a subscriber for life! Hope you have a Blessed day! ❤
Thank you so much and welcome to the family! We love gadgets, I still have my salt and pepper shakers on top of the stove, I can’t go away from that and they are the best but I still love my gadgets 😃

I always loved a good hot steamy dish of momma’s goulash! She made it quite similar, and would e vet with butter bread, or cornbread. Yummy! Of course I added this to my own menu when I married. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds great!
Yum... Luv that ur serving cornbread with it...❤
Thank you 😊
😍😍😍😍Yess Queen you that look so good
Next on my list to try! One thing I did notice though, coming from a former restaurant owner, is that you need to pamper yourself with a Pampered Chef can opener so you don't risk cutting yourself on the edge. Best of all about this style of can opener is if you don't need to use the whole can, you can just pop the top back on and put it in the fridge till you need it. It does take a second to figure how to align the opener but once you do, you'll never use another if you can help it.
Great tip!
Miss Beverly that looks delicious I'm gonna try it thanks for sharing.
God loves you I love you too Sis.
Hope you enjoy It, this recipe was way before hamburger helper and so much better.
