Never thought I'd say this but I like this version better than Stevie's. Saw Merle Saunders at The Vogue in Indy decades ago and he tore up Boogie On Reggae Woman, but a lot of the times Merle did the extended jam, a la Jerry Garcia. But Frampton kills this every time.
I saw him perform this in concert in California the same year.... seems weird to say but it was better than Stevie Wonder's version

If you are under 45, you have no idea how MASSIVE Frampton Comes Alive was. It ruled EVERYTHING for a good year or more. You had the album, you played the album, it was all over the radio. And it destroyed his career because everyone got sick of it. A double-edge sword to be sure. I actually love his version of this song. It's my Favorite Frampton and I had the album back in the day. I think it was his last major top 40.
Saw him Easton, PA at State Theater. He hasn't lost a step, just a little hair. Still great.
