The missing wheels on one of the Carronades is called a "shortage" in plastic terms. This is where the injection moulding tool has had a blockage and needed to be cleaned to produce the proper mould rather than missing part. Can only think of scratch building 2 small parts from a sprue to to replace these missing wheels.

I was given an early victory kit by a friend who found it in a charity shop. Had the ready made ratlines/shrouds which didn't look bad when fitted to the model. Far better than the horrible moulded ones supplied by Revell in their bounty kit.
I remember having Betta bilda in the mid sixties. Way before Lego took over the universe.

Hi Jason, I've just come across your two videos as I was about to start mine.....an excellent and very informative review of the kit, thanks!
Are you going to do a series of videos showing you building it? If so, I might wait and build along with you, depending on where it is in your queue!
    Cheers.

Hi Jason, It's really interesting to see how they molded this kit. Things have sure changed. It does look like it would be a lot of fun to build. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff

Great couple of reviews Jason, of this kit... 😃
I have this in my stash; an early 1980s blue/white boxing, which still has the pre-made shrouds/ratlines. £20 on Ebay about a year ago, and it all seems complete, and well moulded, although, as you say, plenty of clean-up needed..!! 😆
It's one of those kits that I keep looking at and thinking I need to take two months leave from work to attempt it..!! 😂
I never built as a child back in the late 60s or early 70s because it never really was on my radar at the time; I was more into WWII stuff, and the Apollo kits back then, though I do remember seeing the Victory in shops back then; it just never registered with me...sorry! 😞
Last year though, I did build the Vintage Classics Golden Hind, and really enjoyed it, and took a long time to create the wood planking effects for the decks and hull, and she came out looking really nice; even though this was my first large-scale sailing ship, I even tried some basic rigging which worked out well (I also learned how to use the little Shroud/Ratline tool properly from Harry Houdini here on YT); the model looked good to my eyes, though I don't think I rigged as fully as I should, but I ran out of knowledge, so left it!! 😂
I hope to replicate that someday soon with my Victory kit - and I will be painting her in the newer discovered Salmon-Pink/Black instead of the old incorrect yellow...!! 😉
I have a couple of weeks of leave coming up very soon so I'm tempted to make a start... 👍
Thanks for the videos though; good to know it's a good and accurate kit (with its age limitations!), and I look forward to your build videos... 😊

That black CA glue might fill those sink marks quite nicely?

Hi Jason. I've just subscribed and I'm building this kit as well. My kit is from 1987 - so still nice molding. You mentioned after market rat lines - not sure if your photo etch is from Scalewarship? If not - Scalewarship has photo etch and resin parts for this kit. Just wanted to let you know and looking forward to your build. I've cut the bowsprit apart - removing and replacing the details with scratch built bits.
