I subscribe to several modelers and there are two types: those who build models that look good from 3 feet away, and that's what they're satisfied with. You, however, build models that look incredible no matter how close I get to them. That's an incredible skill.
Thank you very much!
This is an amazing work of art! You are an exceptional artist. Truly beautiful
Thank you so much 😀
this is truely amazing. I watched the film and kept saying wow, omg etc. If I could do this a fraction as good I would be happy. You're a real inspiration
Thank you very much!
I have often thought of such a project, this inspires me.
Masterful rigging!
Thank you very much!
Very important job. Compliments... 🤩🤩🤩
Thank you! 😃
@@OlhaBatchvarov 😀
Wonderful, thank you.❤
My pleasure!
fantastico!!!!
grazie
Amazing build. The amount of time you spent to get the details perfect is mind numbing. Absolutely love your builds. Happy days and model on! 😎
Thank you very much!
This is fantastic. The rigging (to me, the part the makes you or breaks you) is so detailed and beautiful. Every detail in this construction is what many hope to achieve. Honing the skills and patience is paramount. To have a ship on display, of this quality, would make anyone who built it proud. I've had a few ship builds that I simply had to walk away from because of frustration. Watching your videos has given inspiration and are very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you very much!
This build is actually insane, my mind cant even comprehend the amount of time and love that was put into crafting this...absolutely mind blowing!!
Thank you very much!
Wow. Just wow.
That`s is one fine looking model. The rope work is incredible !...Beautiful details.
Thank you!
Hi Olha.
Congratulations, this is a fantastic build. About 3 years ago I also started building the HMS Victory at 1/78 scale from Mantua (the one with the brass plates) but soon I had to put it aside because between family, day job and RUclips I dont have the time to continue building it. I am really impressed by the ropes you have used for the rigging. They look fantastic and of very good quality. Were they included in the kit , did you buy them from somewhere or did you make them yourself?
Thanks.
Michael
Hi Olha, I have searched your channel and found your videos where you demonstrate how you make your ropes so my question has been answered. Keep up the great and inspiring work :)
Thank you very much!
Yes, I make my own ropes for my models!
You should arrange a vacation for yourself at least occasionally and do what you like. It helps to recharge the batteries and adjust to everyday life...
I am speechless.........mind boggling detail. Congrats , museum quality craftsmanship ! Superb ! Thanks for the tour . 🖖
Stunning work Sir. I must say, this is the finest model of the HMS Victory I have seen. Heck,..... this is one of the finest models I have ever seen!
Wonderful rigging, splicing, whippings, mouses Futtocks, All of it. This belongs in a museum. I'm a professional model ship builder and nautical museum curator, for the past twenty nine years, take a bow Sir, you've earned it.
Oh, I was wondering about Kitty, glad to see it's fine. I was worried for a moment after your four year gap.
Wow, thank you!
this model is on a level of it's own. simply increadible. many commenters calling the builder "sir". Olha is a Lady builder. her work is out of this world.
Thank you very much!)))
Next-level awesomeness. A work of art.
Thank you very much!
I found this an amazing experience to watch. But this must be a tiny fraction of the experience you had in the construction.
What a stunning model you have produced. Thank you for sharing the journey and your skills. Bravo!
Thank you very much!
I agree.
Amazing detail. The hours spent prior to this monumental build, to be able to achieve it's accuracy is profound.
Olha has top shelf talent and, vessel knowledge second to none I believe.
I subscribed to her channel because I find watching is therapeutic and, relaxing for 20+minutes or so.
There is some great content and presentation here on Utube, it's a treat when I come across them.
It was a happy day for me when I happened to chance upon your site. Your skill set and your knowledge are unbelievable both in your model making your photography and your videos. Olha you are a true crafts person you are an artist. My hope is for your recovery and for peace to prevail so you can return to your passion.
Thank you very much!
A masterpiece. Thank you for taking us on the journey!
simply a work of art.saying fantastic lacks describing its beauty.
Thank you so much 😀
This build was a 10/10 but the cat made it an 11/10!
You are in a different league to us mere mortals
Yeah the cat made it extra awesome knowing mine sits by me when I build my plastic HMS. My first build in 20 years probably, I'm gonna slow it down and put more detail. Incredible build.
Thank you!
(Continuing comments below) --- (mainly the standing rigging), the "frames" for the gun port ropes in the shipś hull and so on). Thank you!
Beautiful model. I have built the same model using de agastini. Did you buy or built the display case I have been unable to find one. Many thanks
I built my own display case for this model...
Ahh the Modelspace Partwork, I did some of the offical RUclips videos for that, well my hnads sombody else did the voice over, I found the stern gallery is not very well depicted, but the rest of the model is very nice. I have visited the real ship many times.
Yes, my modeling started with Modelspace Partworks. I also visited a real ship when I was building a model. And I really want to visit Portsmouth again...
Grazie sei veramente fantastica😊
Ho costruito questo modello per 4,5 anni.
funy enough i`m making 1, 6 feet also, won`t be as detail as the rigging, that part is insane craftman, good job
Your work is extraordinary, excellent realism, it will be possible to obtain the construction plans, it is for a homework , congratulations, excellent work.
It was a parthwork. No drawings at all, so in order to put together all the details, I bought books...
Olha, WOW! What a masterful job on such a complex model. I'm in awe of your talent. That rigging is mindbogglingly so well done. There are times when you can go cross-eyed working it. The standing and running rigging were so accurate. The tautness was amazing, yet it evenly balanced. I see you had your QA cat offering his/her opinions on your workmanship. We had one of those, too. We miss him dearly. Was this a commissioned job, or one for your private pleasure?
Thank you very much!
This model is sold in a private collection in the Czech Republic
Fascinating how this model has inspired many people to start ship modeling.
For one of your first models we can already see all the talent you had in you and you were already making your own ropes, wow.
I bow very low, Master :)
Thank you very much!
For such a model it was a very good idea to take a break and first gain experience to build a more historically accurate VICTORY...
If I had a $5 for every "Victory at Trafalgar" model out there, I would be a rich man. I never much liked her and definitely not as outfitted in the repair of 1802-03. Her older, open galleries version is far more beautiful and far more deserves modeling. But... each to his own. To me - give me a 17th century ship anytime.
To build such an incredible model is no lesser feat than to build the original ship. Bravo!
This looks like you could shrink some people down and they'd be able to sail this
Excellent! Congratulations Olga. Very, very good job. She pours care and love into each of the details. A museum job. I wish I could get to do a job of that magnitude. I have the patience and surely the ability, but not the knowledge. Greetings from Montevideo, Uruguay
Thank you very much!
Does the kit come with a double planked hull or is that something you decided on. Either way it looks amazing
Yes, there was a double planking included!
Thank you!
the kit doesnt come with copper sheathing ?
That is correct! There are no copper plates.
@@OlhaBatchvarov i wonder why ?
I have just finished watching your video of the building of the 1/72 scale Victory model. Having some experience och model shipbuilding for (instance 1/44 The Black Prince, 74 guns from 1811) I am deeply impressed by some of your encredible details. How did you even succeed in all the lashings in the rigging (, the "frames" around the gun port ropes
Thank you very much!
i am English and this sent shivers down my spine
No " shivers down my spine" this is when I stepped on board this ship))))
@@OlhaBatchvarov I saw it as a boy about the age of a powder monkey the gun deck was clear an urge took me and I began to run the Naval officer swung his black staff with brass tip in front of me I pulled to attention immediately Something came over me for a moment.
Respect. Ready respect. Tis is beautiful bild ❤❤
and there is a 1/64 VICTORY kit in the works !! in trial assembly stage !
WOW - in 64 scale she should be almost 2 m together with the bowsprit!..

Thank you!
Have you read the large hardback book titled The Anatomy of Nelson's ships...which describes the building of a large model of HMS Victory housed in the science museum London?
I wish I had this book when I was building this model. I only had HMS VICTORY by Alan McGowan, but even that was happiness.
Now I have a whole collection of books with this ship))))
PS Issue #31 in the "Library for ship modelers" playlist...
As a lifelong model builder, I marvel at this. Love the kitty.
Thank you!
You put the detail in detail. Is there a splinter screen.
Beautiful craftsmanship. Have you ever gone to the model boat show in Woods Hole,Mass.
Thank you!
No - but I really want to do it...
Olha Batchvarov
The lady who puts it all together retired a few years back. If they are still going to have the show,it would be March /April of 2023. They didn’t have it in 2021. I like showing my boats but absolutely love sailing them across the street on Eel pond. It’s a lovely little town with friendly people.
I love the ship inspector
Dear Olha
My name is Rafa, I am from Barcelona, Spain. I am 63 years old.
I have subscribed to your channel, because I find it very interesting
I have been a Ship Model Maker for 20 years
Now I'm doing The Black Pearl on blueprints.
Have you made the black pearl?
We are in contact
Greetings
Rafa
Hello Rafa
Nice to meet you.
No, I didn't build the Black Pearl - I prefer real historic ships.
sincerely
I think, it is extremely sorry, you have stopped or interrupted your procedure with the Rugasian Karrack. I am disappointed. Everyone knows the HMS Victory. One knows about the Karrack.
I will continue working on the carrack as soon as my eyesight is restored... And for now I will publish something from the archive so as not to stop the work of the channel...
Inspirational.
Hi Olha, I thought my Victory was good until I saw this. Did you make all the ropes and rigging or can you buy this smooth spun rope?
Thank you very much!
Yes, I make ropes myself.
The link to the ropeцфдл is in the description under the video...
Wonderful what paint did you use for the cannons or technick?
Dit is geen verf. Ik gebruikte de "Brass Black"...
Nice work! My only real quibble is the colour of the running rigging - far too pale; almost white. The hemp and manilla used IRL was many shades darker; a medium brown/fawn. If this were my model I would wash down all the white rope to darken it somewhat.
Absolutely agree with you! That is why my ropes are not White. You can find colour of my yarns for the ropes and cables in the Community tab...
Hi, fantastic job on the build and love the close-ups on the detail work. Please can you tell me what the music track is that plays during the video.
Thank you very much!
I'm glad you liked it!
This is a soundtrack from Artlist...
New subscriber you are absolutely amazing. Regards from Mexico.
Thanks and welcome
Above & Beyond. ❤️👌🏾👍🏽
I watched from this video and was interested in ordering this ship.
But unfortunately that De Agostini cannot be sent to foreign countries(Thailand).
Each manufacturer has a kit with this ship and even in different scales. Try searching in local modeling shops!
Most insane rigging I've ever seen!
Your patience, skill and dedication defy belief! Unbelievable workmanship and talent on display!
Thank you very much!
yes olha !! the skill shown here definitely shows your qualification for a masterpiece clipper !!
fantastic !! tyvm for posting !!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
it looks like it was made in a hurry, you need to build a little more patience
At that time, there was simply only one model in the process - so I worked without distraction!
@@OlhaBatchvarov So far, all your models are excellent, but I can't say that for hms victory, so I think you're in a hurry, we have high hopes for you, this may be a success for casual modelers, but I know your previous models, so I don't like it
Wow! Such a beautiful creation and an inspiration too. Thank you for sharing 😍
My pleasure!
ofc the cat has to investigate and be the foreman of the building process
quality inspector haha
Super! Mind blowingly beautiful...
Thank you!
Worth watching more than once in the best resolution I can get. BTW, my cat 'catman' believes he too is a naval architect....
Thank you! Cats they are experts in everything that the owner likes)))
wow
awesome build! inspired me to get my own one day and have a crack :) any chance of the song title used in this video?
Thank you!
This is royalty free music from Artlist
How much are one of these worth? 37 inches long lets say.
It depends on many factors! KIT, scratch or kitbashing. What materials (boxwood, pear, ebony or cheap basswood). How detailed is the model according to the scale and historically accurate?
Count it backwards! For what salary are you willing to build it, if it was the only profit!? Then divide by 10 because no one will pay you the real price!
💙💛
You have done a great job on this model young lady
Thank you very much!
hi! How manymillimeters of hooksare there jn mars&?
Hello!
It's a difficult question - I simply don't remember it anymore... Maybe 5mm
Unbelievable...just unbelievable!!
Thank you!
How much would this be worth? I have an antique one of similar scale and detail and its beautiful
Thank you very much!
You can find information about the price and term on my website, it is in the description under the video...
Is the HMS VICTORY (1805) by ALAN McGOWAN good enough to build her frame by frame my next challenge after my Swan class is done. Would be nice to have every frame detailed out.
If I remember correctly in the book there are lines from every second frame. That is, you will have to redraw the rest from the waterlines and sherr plan.
I have this book in my video library - issue #027...
@@OlhaBatchvarov Thanks I ordered it and a few others from your videos. If you ever build a Swan class Sloop Sea Watch Books has the complete set of books available for her I just wish admiraltymodels and Crown Timberyard didn't drop out in providing materials getting the Costello Boxwood.
How many hours did this ship take you to build just a ball park guess please
It took 4 and a half years to build this ship
Olha, this model is amazing! The rigging (i.e., cordage [I had to look this up!]) alone must have taken longer to research, create, and install (rig) than building the ship 'structure" itself! After watching your close-ups of the cordage/rigging as it was installed, I think I finally understood why any opposing ships would shoot chain and/or spider shot at the rigging -- they couldn't hardly miss, I think.
Would you consider making a "tutorial" video of researching, designing, and making your rope/lines the next time you use your ropewalk? I see so many _different_ "weaves" (I'm sure that's the wrong word) in your cordage and the extreme details in each different type that I'm simply awed! ;)
Thank you very much!
Yes, I will make such videos on the example of the HMS PEGASUS - which I am currently building...
No había visto nunca tanta precisión y detalles he visto tus vídeos muchas veces y podría tirarme horas y horas y siempre vería cosas nuevas eres fantástica te mando un saludo 🇪🇸
¡Muchos gracias!

Thank you so much!
Wow, great built, amazing details !
Thank you!
Holy Smokes - Please be proud of yuorself for this accomblishment! The video production is top notch too... Bravo!
Wow! Your model is incredible, but the video of the build is also next-level. I built a much less intricate model of the Endevour a few years ago, and am in awe of your skill. Having spent hours on the rigging of a much simpler build, I can appreciate (to some extent) the skill needed to pull off such a magnificent model. Thank you for having the foresight to document your build with such detailed photos
