This was such an exciting journey... bittersweet that it comes to an end ! You taught us so much, sharing your craft and inspiring us in the way that you do. Thank you 😊
@@OlhaBatchvarov Hi I love your videos, im currently trying to do my first model ship, However I can't find a good tutorial on how to do rope seizing. You know the string that goes around the rope above the deadeyes? I was wondering if you perhaps could make a tutorial on how to do it properly? It was very hard to see in this video (for me at least)
Good morning Olha. Thank you for this series I have enjoyed each issue greatly! I am happy to finally have a supplier supporting US customers and I was able to get this kit for myself and support our Croatian friends. I look forward to watching this series again as I work through my own project of this unique ship. I have learned much from your issues and have built my first three ships in the past three years while watching your channel develop and grow.)) One thing that I note that separates you from others is the choice of glue and time. Many, myself included use CA glue on nearly or even every aspect of construction. I will be making the effort with my carrack project to utilize the PVA glue and keep it tidy. Thank you again for all your time and effort! Your work is truly stunning!))) Cheers Olha!)))) 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 …was also hoping to know where you source the upgraded blocks and hearts for this project. Thanks Olha 🙏
Thank you! I'm glad that my videos inspire you - this fact inspires me to continue running the channel! Yes, CA glue greatly speeds up the construction process, but there is one big BUT!.. Have you seen the model that I am currently restoring - it is about 50 years old and if it had been glued with superglue - it would not have survived the transportation and would have crumbled due to vibrations on the road. In addition, the time of decomposition of CA glue is about 20-25 years, that is, the model could crumble into pieces even before transportation... It's not that I don't use this glue. I use it for temporary fixation, or in combination with PVA, that is, where it will have no effect if it has lost its strenght in 20... 50... or 100 years...
The dowel support construction employed by Maris Stella is unconventional, but your results are just beautiful. I hope you keep the model. It is so striking in appearance. There are not enough models of carracks.
Astonishingly brilliant model! In every possible way! Your mastery of so many techniques is simply awe inspiring! All anyone can do is stand and applaud!
Back from vacation for me, I just watched 112 minutes of Batchvarov clan videos to be up to date ))) Even though I've watched each video more than once of this Carrack build, I still get chills. The music is particularly well chosen.
Welcome back!))) I'm glad you like it! I myself sometimes watch my videos and my eye starts to twitch. Because everything looks easy in the video, and I remember completely different feelings))))
Wow, 3000 hours ( a year and a half) it does show. when a person starts a project like this we rarely anticipate the actual time it takes and therefore it never gets completed.. what a wonderful job! Rich
Hello Master. So nice to meet you. Stunning Ma'am. I am a fulltime model ship builder for the past 29 years....... I have so much to learn. Please give kitty a treat for me, I have six....... Thank you for sharing your blessed talent. Thank you Master.
A fantastic build - I can't believe it's all done after so many episodes. I also learned how to make compound bends assembling hull planking for which I thank you
I really liked how you would lightly wet the wood and use a soldering iron as the heat source to soften and manipulate the wood to the required shape of the hull. Little idea's and simple solutions like that are still sometimes mind blowing. Love your work, art, and creativity you show in this composition.
Level of details is amazing. I have watched almost all of your videos now, I just love watching model ship builds and all the different techniques to do those. My dad left 2 and half ship models before he died and I want to complete the third, thats how I found your channel. It's been 6 years now and still havent found time or *place an excuse here* to start this hobby :/
Fantastic build, and very inspirational videos! If you are going to use LED’s on a later build, you may want to consider diffusing them with 240 or 320 grit sandpaper. Lots of related info on Google.
Hello again from the Netherlands Dear Olha, This is one of my favorite models that you have build, such a beautifull model. Is it correct that I seen this model together with the Shallop on the exhibition? Not only your modeling is perfect but also the choise of the backgroundmusic, a joy to watch and listening to the music. Can you tell me the title of this music and perhaps also from the other video's? Thanks again and al the best for you both. Your Dutch friend Gerard
Your work is very inspiring and educational. The end result is a marvel of details and joy to the eye. Well done and thank you. How will you protect this beauty from dust and time?
Hi Olha! What’s the purpose of the side rails on the rear decks? They seem out of scale and too high above the deck for any use. Is it just the style of the ship?
Hard question. I have recommended all the books I know about this ship, because each one has valuable information. But there is still no final publication with the correct lines of the ship. There are only theoretically possible - made according to the technology of that time, simply adjusted to the dimensions of Mary Rose...

Beautiful job. What make of varnish do you use ? I'm making HMS Beagle and I'm finding the deck looks way to pale, how should I fix this
Hi Olha! What’s the purpose of the side rails on the rear decks? They seem out of scale and too high above the deck for any use. Is it just the style of the ship?
On this model - none, just a decoration!
Apologize for not looking closely but what books on Mary Rose would yoou suggest to a modeker ready to begin such project with JoTiKa kit?
Hard question. I have recommended all the books I know about this ship, because each one has valuable information. But there is still no final publication with the correct lines of the ship. There are only theoretically possible - made according to the technology of that time, simply adjusted to the dimensions of Mary Rose...
I am just curious, how many years did it take to complete?
In fact, it lasted 2.5 years, and practically - 3000 hours...
What did you use for the surface finish... shellac?
Shellac on the deck and tung or teak oil for the rest...
@@OlhaBatchvarov thank you!

Wow 3000 Hours... How long did it take you to finish it?
3000 hours in total
@@OlhaBatchvarov I know this, my question is another.
3000 hours in how long does it take? 2/3 years?
mani d' oro
