...and fellow Bears and football fans is why Ditka had his QB, a clutch punky gamer, mad Mac, and of course the seeds were there, a legend in Payton, and a defense a few years away from greatness. 1982-1988 was great
Jim Mcmahon's career breaks my heart; he would have had several more Bear Super Bowls and made it to the Football Hall of Fame had 'Da Coach' not "showed Mad Mac who was boss" and traded him! Even when he was traded, Mac was still far better than any of the starters he played under. Sorry Coach Ditka fans, 'Iron' Mike wasn't much of a coach at all! Oh, what should have been!
He couldn’t stay healthy. Part of that was the way he played. Part of that was the way he prepared. Showed up to training camp after the Super Bowl weighing 230 lbs watched every game he played for the bears & I would never call him a HOF player
Mad Mac sure had great touch on his pass

@@mikepruett1745 He was the backup for the Lions as I thought you might mean the other team. Gary Danielson was hurt so Hipple got the nod
Wonderful tribute to Chicago's greatest quarterback...after 103 yrs, no Bear quarterback had more courage, more determination...BY FAR...
Outstanding video. Ridiculous. Beautiful.
"Protecting" McMahon are Keith Van Horne, Jeff Williams, Dan Neal, Noah Jackson and Phil McKinely- who is/was a NFL ref!
BAGENT has the moxie of jim McMahon so i hope that results in success for Bagent here in Chicago. First win first start just like Jim.
#24 future NFL HC Jeff Fisher making an INT for the Bears!
Roveto, the kicker was barely there. Thomas had been cut. Then Roveto was awful. So Ditka resigned Thomas.
When finally ended up getting Kevin Butler who eventually became our all-time leading scorer until Robbie Gould came along.
Bob Thomas sucked too
Good game, Ditka sporting the fro, Bears Win!
