    McMahon was the perfect quarterback for the 80s and if the prehistoric McKaskeys at that time (way before George 🙄) would’ve capitalized off his image instead of acting antagonistic because they were a conservative with a stick in their own ass, McMahon would’ve been seen as a valued asset worth protecting with better offensive linemen and weapons. Smdh, hard to do business with old school Chicagoans that lack vision.

    I find it strange that people pay to watch millionaires at work, cheering them on, shouting their names, and even wearing shirts with their names on them. What’s even more puzzling is their willingness to do this in any weather-rain, shine, blizzards, hail, or freezing cold-all for football.

    Something has happened to football today. Low scoring, no electricity, players almost pansies. In contrast, this game shows great differences. Players were stronger than it seems to me. 110% delivery by all. Sharp passing and quick receivers too. I almost can't watch todays football, but this I could watch all day.

      @dapunkyqb1679 24 дня назад

      @@mikewilliams7985yeah, and as far as Bears fans at the time were concerned, it was a miracle having a quarterback that actually turned those kinds of opportunities into touchdowns and victories. Who’d have thought that would still be on the wish list 35+ years later?

  • @massmanute

    I don't think I would pick McMahon as the best NFL quarterback ever. However, if I were to pick one quarterback to go 99 yards in the last two minutes of a game for the Championship of the Universe, McMahon would have to be at or near the top of the list. Unitas would also be high on the list.

    The football gods really let us down when that "tropical storm" hit that Miami field and turned it into sludge. A Bears-Dolphins rematch in the Super Bowl could've possibly been the greatest Super Bowl ever. Marino's quick release and those elite receivers running on turf instead of grass would've made it even harder for the Bears to cover them. But with a healthy McMahon STARTING - he makes all the difference in the world on the field - just ask the 49ers. All that being said, even though the Super Bowl was one sided, it sure was entertaining ! A great story book ending for the Bears.
