McMahon was a thrill with 3 possible outcomes: Winning, getting injured, and/or somehow being able to play with half of a body. Fingers were always crossed. Iconic how he hobbled off the field after the greatest comeback in Philly history. Or the Vikings playoff game when he was literally knocked out of the game, just to re-enter when Salisbury got injured. The last true action hero. The face shield always looked cool, but imagine if he had 2 working eyes with full vision, intact kness, arms, shoulders, neck... He might have finished his career like he did at BYU, being the best ever.
Agree. Most of the time today’s games suck too. Too many “wide” checkdowns & passes just across the line of scrimmage. The blocking back then seems to have worked better & when they did pass they at least put the ball downfield. It’s more efficient football today but it can get boring.
Maybe it was ended already in 84 in the kill-the-QBs-game vs the Raiders... The injuries after that just piled up. He separated his shoulder in game one of 1986, Martin did the rest... Lucky enough he made it (almost) injury free in 1985. It gave us the best ever team across all sports. Without McMahon, the defense domination alone made the Bears incomplete, only 50% magic. Same goes for the 91 Philly team.
Just think how much greater they would’ve been if that team would’ve just had a functional offense line. Had any other backup quarterback been thrown into that situation (not that they weren’t forced to try) there’d be no legendary, “Gang Green” defense to even remember. Don’t get it twisted, the Eagles were ones that lucked out not the journeyman QB.

It physically pains me to see Jim play for another team 😂.
I miss McMahon. Those were the days!
Imagine the career McMahon would have had if Charles Martin hadn't have ended it...

Jim Mcmahon. A journeyman QB who lucked into playing on the greatest defensive team in history.

McMahon was awesome when he was healthy. Unfortunately, he wasn’t healthy very often
@@dapunkyqb1679That Philly team played 8 different QBs that year! And still went 10-6!
Ridiculous comment.
No sir
