That 911's performance is incredible, especially given it's relatively paltry engine and the fact that it's ultimately one of the slowest of the 911 variants. Porsche always seems to achieve more with less and the Turbo is going to crush just about anything.

I just want to commend Porsche for making a 911 Carrera S as fast as a 4.0L BiTurbo V8 GT63 AMG. Just tells you, Porsche is one of the greatest when coming to creating the ultimate sports car. Can’t wait for the 992 Turbo S!!!
Power to weight power to weight power to weight. It's all about that ratio, and the lighter cars actually get a slight advantage in the tires not being under as much load, essentially increasing their coefficient of friction for better traction. Add in a dash of proper aero to keep things slippery, and outright power becomes less and less relevant. The Nissan Deltawing took on 750+ HP LMP1 cars with just over 300 HP by keeping weight down to almost nothing and having the aerodynamics of an absolute dart.
I’m so impressed with the Porsche. Even though dyno numbers have it around 490+hp and not the 443 rated but none the less this thing moves out. Truly engineering excellence.
Porsche also does not build engines just to hit a peak HP number, they build engines to have a strong power curve throughout the rev range. Thats what makes the difference here. Most of these cars have a high PEAK hp, but their power curves are not very full and probably have a narrow rev range where the engine is really making power.
Tbf not a single one of the other cars in the drag race outside of maybe the aston would even qualify as a supercar, lol. If bugatti or koenigsegg are in this race that senna gets absolutely annihilated. Laferrari and 918 would beat it handily as well if acceleration figures are any indication
Demon has too much power and is going to spin too much off the line and not get a good time, only way it gets good drag strip times is because of prepped tracks so it actually gets traction

The AMG GT63S got second place over all. It tied the Porsche in the 1/4 mile for 2nd and beat it in the 1/2 mile making it the second place over all. Third place is between Porsche and Aston.

The Porsche was shocking. The fact that it had way less horsepower than the other cars and still came 2nd in the quarter mile really shows how impressive German engineering can be. Even in the half mile where I thought the car would be far back because of the other cars gaining on it, it still only came 4th.
I would think it'd be impossible to launch 12 cars at the same time and get a good launch out of all of them. I would bet that they do many races and we are seeing bits footage from all the races and times from each cars best.
It's not the engine putting the power down at the start that is the problem, Aston Martin had to reign in the low down torque to make it smoother so that the engine components could take it, that V12 is such a strong engine
Have you ever seen one in person? They are tiny vehicles. My Ford Taurus is almost as tall, wider and longer. For any North American manufacturer it would be considered a subcompact crossover SUV.

username if you knew anything about air strips, the surface would not favour a demon or its tires in the slightest, the maclaren with its superior street tires and weight distribution would still win easily. The demon can only get to its theoretical 9.65 time in absolutely perfect conditions on a highly prepped drag strip. And to this day, no customer bought demon has come close to getting that magical 9.65 they claimed to run.

The AMG GT63S got second place over all. It tied the Porsche in the 1/4 mile for 2nd and beat it in the 1/2 mile making it the second place over all. Third place is between Porsche and Aston.

The Porsche was shocking. The fact that it had way less horsepower than the other cars and still came 2nd in the quarter mile really shows how impressive German engineering can be. Even in the half mile where I thought the car would be far back because of the other cars gaining on it, it still only came 4th.
The 911 Turbo S us out there beating Ferraris, Dodge Demons, Lambos in the quarter mile on a regular basis.

It's not the engine putting the power down at the start that is the problem, Aston Martin had to reign in the low down torque to make it smoother so that the engine components could take it, that V12 is such a strong engine

@@Dyablo254 It was filmed back in October,, or possibly even earlier and it was meant to be focused on 2019 model years. It was also using all of their "drivers" cars from the season, which is why not every top performance car is in there, because that's not what they test.

username if you knew anything about air strips, the surface would not favour a demon or its tires in the slightest, the maclaren with its superior street tires and weight distribution would still win easily. The demon can only get to its theoretical 9.65 time in absolutely perfect conditions on a highly prepped drag strip. And to this day, no customer bought demon has come close to getting that magical 9.65 they claimed to run.
