I’ve had the last 3 M5 models starting with the E60 up to the latest M5 Competition F90 with the F10 with the Competition package. With the F10 you paid extra for the competition package which was an additional option when you bought the car giving you an extra 25bhp, stiffer suspension and better brakes etc (you can pay an extra £5000 to have the speed limiter disabled when buying your car but I found an aftermarket company which did it for £275). Where as the F90 you had a choice between the base model or the Competition (now they’re coming out with the CS model which has 9bhp extra & is nearly 70kg/154.3lbs lighter than the Competition) which had 26bhp more power than the base model and it’s the first M BMW I’ve had with X-Drive/AWD (had M3 E46 when I was 21yrs old & got the E92 when I was 26yrs old) but you can set it up so the power goes to the rear wheels making it a rear wheeled drive car on the track by switching off the ESC but the XDrive came in handy last winter when we had ice on the roads. As much as I love the F90’s twin turbo 4.4 litre V8 I do miss the sound of the E60’s 5.0 litre naturally aspirated V10 engine (I do prefer the F90’s looks better than the E60). I do fancy getting myself a Mercedes Benz C63 AMG and if I can get a Black Series version even better, but I’ll settle for a non Black Series C63 AMG. I know that the C63 AMG doesn’t handle is well as BMW M5 Competition (or a M4/M3) but I love the looks of the car and think it looks better than the M5 but I’m still gonna keep my M5. Sorry I’ve rattled on but I do love my BMWs especially the M5, I was happy with my M3s but one day while driving back to Plymouth from Manchester I was on the M6 toll road and my dad was tired so I drove his M5 to Exeter doing 150mph with ease as the road was empty and it was late at night (until my dad woke up after an hour and told me to slow down) but it hit 120mph before I realised how fast I was going because there were very few cars and it just didn’t feel like I was doing 120mph, so when I saw how fast I was going I decided to go faster as the road was clear ahead, from then on I was hooked and knew that I was gonna trade my M3 in for a M5.
