Welcome to another Episode of Ross Reviews AU on this weeks Video we take out a 2006 FPV F6 Typhoon making 485rwhp & Compare it to a 1997 Nissan Skyline R33 GTST (4door) making a healthy 350rwhp.. The goal is to see who really did the big 4 door turbo 6 sedan best??? AUSDM or JDM...
That is the question.. so is it Turbo Barra or RB25 for the win?

F6 will always be my first choice due to its practicality and performance overall. That skyline tho is very cool, nothing can beat the old school 90s JDM era of sport cars. Both cars are so different yet almost similar.

Well done, mate, very good comparison between cars. As my old man worked at Ford, i will always have a bias, but can appreciate the JDM goodness of a Skyline, as my old man also had an old school 4 door version of it. They are such wonderfully created driver's cars. Keep up the good work!

@@RossReviewsau yeah the capacity of that already pushes 200kw without a turbo. So when they launched it in 2002, it was only a matter of time until aftermarket tuners unleashed it.
Need more german barras on the channel - would love a comparison with some straight 6 beemers. We got a tuned m235i recently (N55 not quite a B58) and it's about 360rwhp; 12.5sec ish 1/4 mile. Great little car

I enjoyed this video because it's a little different from the normal. Don't know if anyone is keen would you do a video of what you would consider good buys at 10k, 20k,30k for the people that are less financial then others that can throw money at there ride.
Agreed 👍🏼 .. great idea .. while I’m in a _comfortable position_ myself I still appreciate not everyone can throw 100K+ modding a car OR buying car worth that sort of money.

There's just something special about the barra that just makes me smile from ear to ear, hence why I've oven 5 Falcon's.
Hey mate, also if you're interested in flying down to Adelaide in maybe a year or so and doing a review on my 605rwhp g6e turbo that has a fair amount done to it, I'd be down to letting you the 1st person other than me to drive it. Just got a respray and got built zf 6r80 hybrid trans in the works to support 800+ rwhp to be done before everything is set in stone, if you're interested.

Here in Germany for sure. Sad but true. I love driving, but I miss the sound, emotions, feedback in the steering, bigger engines,.... on newer cars here. I still drive two tuned cars from 2001 and 2004. Better times :)
I own an BF F6 ground up build every suspension bush caster kitted teins built motor diff fuel system ect.
F6 built is a completely different animal v JDM they're Grand touring sports car produced by Australians 🇦🇺 for our rubbish roads.
I've owned many JDM car's now I own F6 once you sort the front end out on the F6 caster & camber wise the steering is faster and much more accurate.
For me this made a huge difference especially when very spirited mountain ⛰️ driving 😂

@auscarlover7485 The front bottom control arms have eccentric bushes fitted to push out widening the track.
The tops having a kit can't remember maker's brand, it came with a stack of offset shims longer high tensile bolts allowing both control arms to push outwards and forwards.
This changes the caster camber and Ackermann steering geometry.The Ackermann steering geometry is a geometric arrangement of linkages in the steering of a car or other vehicle designed to solve the problem of wheels on the inside and outside of a turn needing to trace out circles of different radii...
My F6 drives and handles at very high speed allowing stability & control in corners BF handling is usually very uncomfortable especially under brakes or very hard wide open throttle.

I don't think that skyline was a great example, an RB3025neo at 300kw+ would have been more lively. But for 30k I'd go the falcon...
That skyline was a beautiful example can’t get much better really.. an R34 would have been better maybe but not easy to comebye well done and 4 doors

I've had an R33 GTS-T and currently own a FG XR6 Turbo !
I can tell you that the Skyline is much better to drive and sounds better, but the Barra will rip it's undies off, if both in standard forms !✌👍

We can import every GT-R to the US now but not any F6 so I will have to say the F6 is cooler.
Edit: Completely did not notice that the skyline in this video is not a GT-R
Gtr are worth a fortune now. Alot more than any f6 that's for sure.
@davothegreat9990 Completely untrue. You can get R32s for as low as 75k and there's a few F6's hitting the 100k mark now.

2 Great cars with their own unique qualities that set them apart from one another,but at the end of the day it's the F6 for the win & the reliability of the Barras is hard to beat,my FG in 7yrs has never let me down I haven't had to spend $1 for any mechanical problems only a flat battery best car I've ever owned,anyway thanks Johnny & congrats on 60k subs brother.
Love my falcons never owned anything else currently in the fg but want to build an au barra
I'd rather the F6 to me the style is better as for the skyline I see what you mean by its fun and all but to me a skyline is a R32 Godzilla in gun metal grey like on the Grand Tourismo game😊

Funny i was comparing these two cars in my head recently. I miss my old 33 that was 320rwkw. It was a monster. But its also kinda limited space wise being a small car. I was thinking maybe i could settle for a barra if i was to get one. But r33s are a cool place to sit. Being small and light is big for me.
Definitely more of a drivers car the R33 I would say
The skyline is a MEDIUM sized car, the falcon is a LARGE car,, A mini or a suzuki swift are SMALL cars like wake up bru
Great video mate 👍 I'd take the skyline for the fun of it because we both love to drive these simple car's.
But the Falcon looks better, sounds better and more practical for Australia.
It would really come down to where I'm living at the time as to which one I'd pick. Falcon would win most of the time, but if I was living in the mountains or daily on the Twistys I take the skyline. 🙂

Both good, depends what you want out of it, I like the nissans but with street driving these days everything is pretty useless lol, so go for what you like the look and feel of, I'd probably go falco for daily, dare I say on here I'd prob go fgx lol
Both cars are good in their own way but man the F6 looks miles better compared to the R33.
Another excellent video mate. I feel like the skyline would be a fun car to zip around on weekends/track. But i feel the f6 would suit the cruise power daily. Funny, i would normally pick the skyline. But after owning my ba xr6t for a few months now (only auto so not as engaging) i gotta say the falcon. Also coming from a big commodore guy, i love my barra (also ordered some shoes for it finally, so waiting for that to come over from wa...the stockies are killing me xD)

Awesome video man! Hey i need your opinion because youve driven alot of barras. I currently have a gt2582r on my fgx, if you had the choice would you prefer a gen 1 gtx3582r or a gen 2 gtx3582r? Youve driven both. Its for the street and 98 octane fuel only so will be limited to around 420rwkw max. Id love to hear your opinion on turbo response of both turbos. Thanks

Imo outside a gtr and without considering price, the falcon is better in almost every way and not talking objective stuff like sound and looks etc.
The skylines just handle better as expected tho.. the Barras are hard to beat for the money
